Great location near Hat Head and South West Rocks This lovely 4 acre camping spot is situated at Kinchela on the tidal Kinchela Creek which runs directly into the mighty Macleay river. You can fish or set a crab trap, kayak, paddle board, bring the tinny or just relax and enjoy the water view and surrounding farmland. A few shade trees and quiet surroundings makes this the perfect spot for your next getaway. Fire baskets available. Conveniently located only a 5 minute drive to Gladestone shops and hotel. There is a tap and hose (town water) on site. Safe surroundings for solo travellers. Last Minute Bookings Welcome subject to availability 😊Lovely creek frontage campsite located in a rural area at Kinchela. Surrounded by cattle and silage farms close to Hat Head and South West Rocks. Relax and enjoy the water view and farmland with fire pits available onsite. The convenience of Gladestone shops - bakery, butcher, general store, chemist, fuel and hotel are just 5 minutes drive away. Smithtown general store and hotel are also 5 minutes away. You can fish, drop a crab trap, paddle board or kayak directly from the tidal creek. The mighty Macleay river is accessible by boat in a no wash zone just 1 km away. Town water tap and hose on site for drinking and filling caravans.

Windermere Campsite
Windermere is a beautiful campsite. Peaceful and quiet, plenty of space, lush green grass with a lovely outlook. It’s close to shops, cafes and the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend!

A gem of a spot!
Awesome spot on the river. Dolphins swimming by and caught a number of flathead and bream. Grassy, spacious sites and close to south west rocks etc. Fabulous sunsets around the campfire.

Most beautiful quiet spot next to the river. Just us and one other camper. Lots of birds, fish jumping out of river and a wonderful sunset. Well worth a stay 👍🏼

We loved our four nights camping by the creek. Mark was very welcoming and the location is easy to find and very close to South West Rocks, Hat Head, and Gladstone. Very peaceful camp, would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others.

What an awesome spot and exactly as the photos show. The grassed area is well maintained and pretty flat. Access to town water was simple. Very peaceful with cows in the background, beautiful sunsets and fun fishing. Mark was great and his delivered wood was fantastic. For dog owners please abide by the rules and keep them on a leash and pick up their droppings so it doesn’t spoil it for people like us who love bringing our dog camping. Will definitely be returning.
