Great location near Hat Head and South West Rocks This lovely 4 acre camping spot is situated at Kinchela on the tidal Kinchela Creek which runs directly into the mighty Macleay river. You can fish or set a crab trap, kayak, paddle board, bring the tinny or just relax and enjoy the water view and surrounding farmland. A few shade trees and quiet surroundings makes this the perfect spot for your next getaway. Fire baskets available. Conveniently located only a 5 minute drive to Gladestone shops and hotel. There is a tap and hose (town water) on site to wash the boats after a big days fishing at nearby South West Rocks (15 minutes) or Hat Head (10 minutes) Last Minute Bookings Welcome subject to availability 😊Lovely creek frontage campsite located in a rural area at Kinchela. Surrounded by cattle and silage farms close to Hat Head and South West Rocks. Relax and enjoy the water view and farmland with fire pits available onsite. The convenience of Gladestone shops - bakery, butcher, general store, chemist, fuel and hotel are just 5 minutes drive away. Smithtown general store and hotel are also 5 minutes away. You can fish, drop a crab trap, paddle board or kayak directly from the tidal creek. The mighty Macleay river is accessible by boat in a no wash zone just 1 km away. Town water tap and hose on site for drinking and filling caravans.

Fabulous spot, quiet, close to Hat Head and others, great evening with a fire pit and firewood, plenty space. Either there’s no fish in the creek, or I’m a poor fisherman (others were catching). Definitely recommend

Our second stay at Windermere over Easter and we loved it! So quiet and peaceful, amazing for the kids to explore, and we got to see the baby cows! The hosts are so friendly and accommodation as well.

Idyllic!
The site is exactly what we like in a camp spot. Well mowed grass right on a clean river bank and super quiet away from main roads etc. It was nearly full and the nearest campers were about 40m away. Clearly set up for privacy. Mark came to check in with us and make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

Family Reunion
Great spot, caring and fastidious owners who help where they can. Lovely spot, good proximity to South West Rocks. Peaceful, road noise not a thing. Fresh eggs and pumpkins on sale from the residence as well. Great value firewood delivery! Lots of space for our extended family, good mobile signal which was another bonus... Dogs loved it too!

Peace and tranquility
Highly recommend! Flat, grass paddock on the river with plenty of room and scenery. Parked the caravan next to the river and relaxed for 2 nights. Only noise was the fish jumping out of the water and the occasional cow moo! Would definitely stay again.
