Basic camping here, with facilities potentially to come. We just wanted to open the place up to a few people this summer to gauge some interest and see what people though of the location. It’s a top spot, with great locality to Scotts head, but feels as though you’re in the middle of nowhere! Dogs are welcome, but there is wildlife around, and no fences, so please consider. Anything you bring in must be taken out by you (including human and pet waste!). There’s fresh water in town, and the public toilets get cleaned daily. Access can be a bit tricky in periods of high rain, but as long as you stick to the tracks you should be sweet.

Site 2 - Way Way Getaway
Such a beautiful property! Sam’s dog Rufus was so friendly and gentle with our little puppy! The amenities were perfect. Able to have a nice fire pit in the spots provided when the wind dropped. We ended up extending our time there we loved it so much. And so close to town!!

Great location for accessing the beach, water and other activities in the area. Feels like a bush camp but you're only moments away from the water. We camped with a trailer and camp site 6 and had heaps of room. Sam was very responsive through the Hipcamp app.

It was a good location and plenty of space. It’s a little run down and needs a good clean. It did the job for us but I’m sure there are nicer places in the area.

We only stayed one night, but it was exactly what we hoped for — great spot and lovely host with great communication. The only thing we’d mention is that signage lfrom the main road could be a bit clearer. Would stay again!

Awesome place to camp! Tucked away hidden off the highway! Peaceful Cruisy atmosphere bonus shower and toilet and camp dog.. other peoples camp dogs 🥰 Would definitely stay again if in the area!

Site 3 - Way Way Getaway
We had a nice stay, it feels very chilled. It’s a good location, 4 minutes drive to Scott’s Head main beach or Little Beach. It’s always nice being able to use our off-ground fire pit too, but check with Sam about when campfires are allowed. Cheap firewood is available onsite. The amenities are basic, but as expected. It’s nice to have a warm shower. One shower and one separate toilet seem to be shared by the whole site. It was quiet when we were there, so that wasn’t an issue, but if it got full I could imagine they might be busy. The onsite water seems to all be collected rain water, so bring your own drinking water, and we needed our own toilet paper. Access is via a short steep-ish dirt road, but it would be manageable in non-4WD vehicles if taken slowly. Sites 1-5 are in the main camping area, and are not allocated sites. Bush sites 6-8 are allocated and are in a different section.

Site 4 - Way Way Getaway
Sam’s place was perfect for a relaxed camp close to beaches and town. Lots of space between campers and my dog loved playing around with Sam’s gentle dog Rufus. Sam was helpful with quick correspondence and good suggestions. His place was grassy, well kept and provided an excellent camp kitchen, drop toilet and hot shower if you wanted. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks Sam and Steve (for firewood)

Great shared facilities - warm water shower, toilet and kitchen/dining/relaxing shelter with cooker, sink and fridge. Plenty of space. Leafy trees. Grass under foot. Also mossies, leeches and ticks - but that's camping 🙂 Easy access via short drive to Scotts Head beach and shops; and Stuart Point beach, river and bowls club.

Great campsite with a basic toilet, shower and a well equipped communal camp kitchen. Quiet and only a short drive to the beach. We loved it and will definitely be back ☺️

Perfect spot! Sam is super accommodating and chill, the shower is a great way to end a beach day, little camp fire spots in multiple places along with the beautiful communal campfire and kitchen. The dogs are a bonus! Love to play with the ball. Safe, private, lovely community feel about the camp spot and Scott’s head in general. Will be back!

Amazing spot! Highlight for us was the fireflies that came out at dusk and flew around the campsite. Facilities were great and the host was super friendly. Also recommend driving up to mount yarrahappina lookout if you get the chance.

WayWay Getaway is a beautiful and peaceful forest escape. If the beach is too windy, this spot is perfect — quiet, sheltered, and surrounded by nature. The site has everything you need: a fire pit with chairs, a hot outdoor shower, clean bathroom, and a small kitchen with utilities that make the stay super easy and comfortable. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, ideal for unwinding and enjoying the outdoors. On top of that, the host was very kind and flexible when I had booked the wrong date, and even helped late at night when a camper van got stuck in the mud. You can tell this place is run with genuine care. Definitely a spot I’d recommend and return to.

Such a great little property, surrounded by gorgeous trees and only a 5 minute drive to the beach. Be aware sites 1-5 are relatively close to the main house and other sites, so not very private. Sam is very friendly and responsive. Absolutely would stay again, thanks Sam!

A great raw, natural camping experience with the added niceties of a hot shower and toilet. We took our 3 year old son and dog and it was the perfect place to let them adventure around the bush, we all loved having a play with Rufus too. Sam was friendly and responsive and the location is great to explore Scott’s Head and surrounds.

Second stay at the Way Way getaway and we had the best time! Such a beautiful and tranquil property with great camp kitchen and facilities, bonus points for being able to have a fire and for the beautiful fairy lights! Can’t want to return, special mention to Rufus for being adorable 🐶

This was the first place on our trip that actually felt like glamping. We hadn’t had showers up until now, so hot water was a real luxury! The camp kitchen was the only shared one we’d seen on our trip and it was a real vibe. You can see that communal vibes are the heart and soul of this slice of paradise. We just missed Sam, but Steve was around to give us a lay of the land and help us settle in. He truly was the man and very kind! Plenty of space to create your own patch and to feel like you’re the only ones. Best spot to camp when visiting Scott’s Head will be back for more than one night. Thank you Sam you have a true blue slice of paradise 🫶🏻
