Surf famous Scotts head point, or head to the back beaches for some in crowded beach breaks, explore local rural towns, enjoy some peace and quiet! Basic camping here, with facilities potentially to come. We just wanted to open the place up to a few people this summer to gauge some interest and see what people though of the location. It’s a top spot, with great locality to Scotts head, but feels as though you’re in the middle of nowhere! Dogs are welcome, but there is wildlife around, and no fences, so please consider. Anything you bring in must be taken out by you (including human and pet waste!). There’s fresh water in town, and the public toilets get cleaned daily. Access can be a bit tricky in periods of high rain, but as long as you stick to the tracks you should be sweet.

Way Way retreat was well priced, so easy to book and go to after a last minute booking. The spot was quiet clean and so beautiful with the surrounding bush land and animals coming out to do their thing in the night and early morning. Site 7 is unpowered and off the grid which suited us perfectly! Would 100 percent recommend.

beautiful site, close to the bush and you feel like you are far away from the road. great communal areas, shower and drop dunny (cleanest we have seen yet)!

Site 3 - Way Way Getaway
I almost didn’t want to leave a review because this place feels like one of those spots you want to keep to yourself. But it would be unfair not to. A beautiful, safe, and quiet space with plenty of room and all the facilities you need. The location is phenomenal, and the hosts are relaxed and easy to deal with. I genuinely felt relaxed the entire time I was here which is rare. I’ll definitely be returning many more times in the future.

Site 3 - Way Way Getaway
We loved this peaceful bush camping site. Very chilled. It was close enough for a quick drive to the beach/town but far enough away to be surrounded by birds and nature. We camped at sites 1-5 and their was plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The camp kitchen was great when we had some rain and the compost toilet was clean and non-stinky! (Bring some toilet paper as it may run out) Will be returning again for another surf holiday.

We had a great few days at Way Way. Bush site 6 was perfect; really large and private. It was so peaceful. We felt like we were in the bush on our own but then it was only a few minutes drive to beautiful Scott’s head with its thriving little town and magnificent beaches. Thanks Sam! We will definitely be back.

Great private site at site 6, just off the track. Trees all around and less than 5mins drive from Scotts head. We only stayed 1 night but would definitely stay again if passing through. The Hilux had to work abit to get our 19ft caravan up the hill on entry, would not want to be pulling a caravan any bigger on gravel road.

We had a great stay at Sam’s property. Plenty of room and great site options for our camper trailer. Great facilities and so close to Scott’s Head and beaches! We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

This spot was a convenient place to stay—perfect for day trips and having a solid base to come back to in the evenings. Sam had everything we needed to reset after a day of surfing, including warm showers and a communal kitchen if we needed it. Would recommend

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet at Sam's property. We had a lovely outlook of trees and bush, and there was plenty of space around us. Thanks for accommodating us.

This was a lovely campsite that was near to Scott’s Head. 2 super friendly dogs welcomed us on arrival. There was a camp kitchen with fridge and seating area, clean drop toilet, and shower. Would definitely stay here again

Location was fantastic. Facilities simple, easy and clean. Site for our tent was lovely, right next to the bush - and although there were others around with it being new years it still didn’t feel overcrowded and often we had moments being the only ones at camp. Loved our stay, definitely want to come back!

Loved the location, campsites were nicely spaced and toilets as well as shared facilities were fairly clean and accessible! The bus and property was gorgeous, was super close to shops and restaurants aswell which was nice :)

What a great spot. I booked last minute and Sam was so accommodating. The kitchen shed was cosy and welcoming and the hot shower after too long in the ocean was divine.

Proper bush camping & awesome host

We were absolutely stoked with our 3-night stay at Way Way Getaway!! It offered a "proper" bush experience—we made friends with the trees and even rode out a staggering thunderstorm—all with the benefit of total peace of mind, knowing we’re safe. Camping on this site really felt like home! The property is the perfect balance of nature and convenience, located just a stone's throw from Scott’s Head for incredible cafes, amenities, natures walks and stunning surf beaches. We stayed on Site 6 with our Nissan Patrol and a double-fold camper trailer; access was easy and manoeuvring it was a breeze. Sam is a super helpful and relaxed host. Since the other sites weren't busy, he was extremely accommodating and let us pay a bit extra to use the shower and toilet (a couple of mins walk from site 6). Speaking of which, it was hands down the cleanest composting/bush toilet we’ve ever used—a very impressive and sustainable setup! We generally had the best time ever and will definitely be coming back again! Thanks, Sam, you total legend!
