Speak to us about using us for a working space for corporate or business trips, collaborations and more......... Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring an amazing rustic cabin, nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

The Hideout 4WD Only
Second time staying at watton airstrip and loved every minute of it. Camping with animals and waking up by the river. Will be back again

The View AWD Accessible
Favourite spot so far
We loved our stay at the view! Tammie was an amazing host, the view incredible during the day and even better at night when the stars came out. Even though we stayed up on the hill we were welcome to use the river which was so refreshing to swim in on a hot day. There’s also fish in that river so we’ll have to come back soon with the fishing gear.

Large 2WD/ Caravan Hillside Site
Me and my partner stayed at the hillside spot on our trip from QLD through NSW and we couldn’t recommend this place more, the views morning and afternoon are absolutely breath taking, alongside their river it made this place absolutely perfect, I would’ve booked for more nights there but we were on a short time frame, will definitely be coming back.

So easy to book and quick response, Tammie even guided us down to our spot. Great location great sites. Definitely recommend Wattons airstrip. River is beautiful to swim in We will be back
