Accessible, family friendly.
Perfect. Claudio provided the perfect setting for my birthday party celebration camp. The spot is easily accessible and awesome for families. The kids played all day in the treehouse. My mum stayed at Claudio’s other on site accommodation The getaway, and if you’re looking for a luxe touch the bubble hotel is stunning. Claudio and his family were the most amazing hosts helping me with so many aspects of organising. Beyond being super helpful with the camping they also provided catering, stage, sound and lighting for my party. Claudio even DJd! They absolutely went above and beyond to ensure our stay was safe, comfortable and to our expectations. Highly recommended.

I had an amazing time at my 21st birthday party, all thanks to Claudio. The Pines Camp is a great venue to host a party, especially if you require 40+ people to camp afterwards. Claudio was a fantastic host. He was easy going, cooperative and helpful while I was organising different people to set up our marquee. The venue offers a picturesque location with plenty of space for parking, camping and partying. Cheers Claudio!

Great amenities with clean shower and toilet. Camping space is ample and nice touch having fire wood available. Kids loved the tree house. Good distance from the Hunter made wine tasting easy.

Amazing venue!! Just hosted a joint birthday/ send off camping event and we are still buzzing! It was everything we could have asked for in a weekend away! Gorgeous land scape, access to facilities and was super helpful and accommodating host! Honestly, one of the most memorable experiences me and my friends have had! 10/10!

Nice but could be more affordable
Overall, we enjoyed our experience with our friends and the site where we set up our tents was relatively flat. There weren't many bugs and the setting was quite pleasant. However, there was only one power supply which is a bit inconvenient if you are far away from the power and you don't have a long extension cord. Also, having only one bathroom (shower and toilet together in one room) is quite inconvenient, even if there aren't a lot of campers. The floor in the bathroom got quite wet and while there was a mop, it didn't really do anything to dry the floor. It wasn't the worst camping experience I have had, but for the amount that I paid to stay there, I have had better experiences before.

over-capacity!
Very disappointed that the host claimed that only 10 sites were on the property, only to find many times more sites had been allocated within the same area for the holiday weekend. Queuing for muddy portaloos which had been brought to site to cater for the extra capacity (something we weren't informed of) rather than using more comfortable indoor facilities (as per the advertisement) was not enjoyable at all. Won't be going back and advise anyone who does to make sure the number of pitches advertised is correct, true and up-to-date so they know what to expect

Disappointed, never going back
The camp-site was overbooked for Easter long weekend. There was a queue of cars after we reached and it took 30mins to get the host's attention. He was equally hassled and was trying his best to attend to all the guests but there were about 100+ people on the site. Wet mud, puddles, dirty bathroom & tight parking space like city streets. For campervans - there is shared power point which was mentioned on the site beforehand but wait - we were asked to park the camper next the toilet (being used by 100s) because all the spaces were taken. Because of wet ground, the camper cannot go to the site which he said is mentioned in the SMS sent. It would be better to get a clear message that at this stage, campervans cannot enter the ground at all and we need to spend our holiday in parking, next to the toilet. The generic flyer sent was not clear enough. We didn't expect puddles on a bright & sunny weekend. Also, when we expressed disappointment, he said everyone else is happy apart from us :) The host was kind to make adjustments and tried to help as much as he could but with overbooking (which he did not agree to), wet mud (which could have been communicated better), and fewer hands to help - he was out of options himself. Not recommended at all.

It's a great campsite for anyone who wants to experience camping first time or have little one and need amenities handy. There's only one bathroom with shower and sink to wash dishes so plan it accordingly. Claudio is great host and very responsive.

Quite disappointed
I will never return. The ground was filled with mid swampy mud! It was overcrowded about 100 people with only 1 shower and two toilets!! The host clearly isn’t a camper so clearly have no idea what campers need. Will never return. I’d rather camp in my back yard.

Pines Camp
The camp was overcrowded and had inadequate toilet and shower facilities. The photos in hipcamp showed we could park our cars next to the tent however this was not the case. We had to carry all our gear and took hours to set up when usually an hour will do. The place was so muddy and we were only advised at the last minute to bring gum boots and tarp. I felt let down and what was an exciting Easter holiday was surrounded by mud everywhere. It appears the host isn’t a seasoned camper and does not fully understand the needs of a good camp. Unfortunately, we will never come back.

Hate this place
Terrible place, totally different from picture, misguiding instruction, not enough toilet and space, over booking. No view, noise road all night. Waste your holiday and money.

Host was really nice. However, road noise was pretty full on and the site was overbooked. We were right next to other campers and the single toilet / shower always had a lineup.

No a place recommend to go
The picture is pretty nice, you can pick fruit, you can see horse, you can have nice view. But reality is the camping area is a small block beside hose’s house, surrounded by high weed after fence. You can see no horse and all the view ruined by man tall weed. The camp site is really close to main road and you can hear traffic noise all the night. The hose divide 15 sites in such a small block and your tent will be right next to the others. The worst is this site only has one bathroom. Because toilet and bathroom in one single room so it is easily line up if someone showering. This place is not worth the money and it just wasted my holiday.

The ground was not suitable for us to stay (in a Trailer) as we would have been bogged for sure. The host tried to find a suitable spot - but the alternatives were not desirable (eg near the portaloo) or safe for kids (eg near old building material). The far end of the camp area looked better (but it was taken) and may have been more suitable. Recommend checking with the host about the grounds before making a booking.

Would not recommend at all
Very disappointing and would not recommend. Booked in Jan for Easter weekend when it initially said there was a 10 campsite capacity. When we arrived, there were at least 30 other camp sites (half of which has to pitch in soggy areas) because the listing was opened up to 50 campsite capacity. We were never informed that the capacity has increased, so everyone had a small plot of land to “camp”. Was like a festival campsite without the festival. Owner even rented two portable bathrooms since it was overbooked and they were dirty all weekend with 120+ campers on site. Misleading and would not recommend, very disappointed in the dishonesty.

Perfect camping spot and location!
What an incredible spot! 25 mins from hunter valley wineries, 20 mins from lake mac, 45 min from the beach. Beautiful site with impeccable facilities. Very friendly and caring hosts who make you feel welcome. Sunsets over the mountains each night we’re the highlight.

The campsites were soaking wet and other tents were so close to one another. Absolutely no privacy and couldn't really see any views because of the crowd. The place was definitely overbooked with just 2 portable toilets and 1 bathroom with toilet. People who got in earlier had the best sites of the lot which is unfair because we weren't informed of this. We pay the same as the rest and ended up getting a bad campsite. The only thing that turned out good was our drives to Port Stephens and Newcastle. It was far better being out there than on the campsite. We are not returning to this place ever and neither are we recommending this to anyone!

Overall, we had a great experience if we did not need to share a single bathroom and clean toilet with proper lighting, hot water system with the rest of 80 peoples during a cold, wet windy night. The camping area was fantastic if we had not been submerged in the crowded campers. There are tremendous space to improve if the property owner eager to turn their very own property into a destination for enthusiastic campers.

Overbooked site
We booked 2 sites for 4 days during the Easter break. 1. We were under the impression that we can park in our site as stated in the booking. We even messaged the host before making a booking and was assured that it will be fine. However, when we arrived the host said that we can't and we had to insist that one car have a roof top tent so it does not really make sense to park it in a parking area. 2. A lot of people were cramped in small sites. We felt that the campground was overbooked (chatting with other campers - everyone had the same sentiment). I understand that some people were washed out from other campsites and had to look for another option but I think it's fair to expect that the people who booked way ahead should have been prioritised. 3. Only 1 shower and 1 flushing toilet. Again, with all the people, how can someone expect to share that one shower. If there was a limit of sites that can be booked, it may have been manageable. 2 portaloos were provided but it was filthy. 4. On arrival, we were greeted by the host and was clueless what we have booked after giving my name. In terms of organisation, could be improved. In summary, if the place was not overbooked it would have been a 100% better. We've done camping around NSW to VIC for a while now and for the price that we paid, this one is disappointing. I suggest to limit the number of sites so that people can enjoy the space and the amenities can accommodate the guests.

The site was overcrowded and over capacity. The portable toilets were placed in the mud and there should have been mats to help decrease the mud we had to walk through. You shouldn't advertise a private bathroom and shower which needs to be shared with 150 people. Very disappointed with how over crowded this was.

Overall had a fun time and location was great, however it seemed that the campground was overbooked. There were too many people in a relatively small area, and there were not adequate toilet facilities for the number of people there (it was the Easter long weekend for context, but we had booked 2 months in advance.

Great location & facilities.
Claudio is very nice & introduce us around. There is toilet /bathroom and kitchen available, location is very easy to access. There is little tree house for kids to play. The down side is after all the rain in last few month, puddles every where. I would say it is suit for adult, but not much to do around for the kid.

Slumlord camping!
Packed in like sardines in an oversold camp ground. Chalked out squares as pitches in the smaller area of the grounds (not the 5 acres as indicated on the profile). Pitches were back to back with absolutely no distance between them and some were clearly too boggy to be used… that didn’t stop the host from trying to put people there though. The place was clearly oversold with host wanting to cash in by cramming as many pitches (~50) in a space no bigger than a footy pitch. We left early….

Don't recommend for long weekends
The host was organised in terms of receiving us and hosting but there were just too many sites squeezed into a small area. The site barely fit a 3 person tent and 2 chairs. The pictures in the listing are misleading with such large spots where you can park a car nearby. There were just 2 toilets for over 100 people out of which one was not functioning most of the time. There was water clogging almost everywhere. They should not be hosting more than 4/5 camp sites in this location.

Not suitable for camping
Horrible experience. The camp site is not suitable for camping. The campsite is located at the lower stream of the water bed and continuously wet event on a sunny day. The facility was disappointed, hot water is not sufficient and enough to serve 50 people. As the site was over booked and crowed and the stay was sooo disappointed. And the booking system was failed and description was misleading. Also car cannot drive into the camp site, you have walk. There is only one shower room in the whole facility.

Overcrowded
Would normally be great, host very friendly. Problem -it was so overcrowded we had people camping within 2 m of our tent. No toilet paper as it ran out, crowded for the one shower, really impacted our visit.
