Welcome to Port Macquarie's 'The Hatch Farm'; a pet friendly, interactive animal and fishing farm stay! A 150-acre working farm with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River (with a rustic boat ramp and waterway running into the Hastings River). Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, and local strawberry and tomato picking. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. During NSW School Holidays, host led animal interactions will be available at designated times. Friendly pets welcome.

Bliss!
The Hatch Farm, is by far one of the best camping spots we have been to, with stunning river views amazing fishing, boating, kayaking and swimming. The camp sites are huge and the amenities are very clean . You also have access to the NSW beaches close by, for 4WD access. To top it all off we were blessed with Bernard and Susan's amazing hospitality, they are such great people, we were even lucky enough to share a pig on the spit with them on New Years Eave. We also won't forget the animals and friendly dogs, our kids absolutely loved them! Can't recommend highly enough!

A very relaxing place to stay with the benefit of Port Macquarie not far away. A beautiful part of the Maria River with great access for all water craft. We enjoyed SUPing around Boomerang Island, swimming and the husband enjoyed paddling his ski. The campsites are very generous with a surprise shade structure that we weren’t expecting but very much appreciated. Composting toilet and showers are an added bonus, along with being able to have fires. Susan and Bernard are great hosts and it is fun to be able to stay on an off grid working farm.

The hosts were very friendly and had great communication. This was an amazing stay! The toilets, sink & shower were all well kept. We had a tour of the farm & met all the beautiful animals (one lovely Collie stayed with us & played as we set up too). Also got the opportunity to go for a kayak in the river & a bit of a swim. The stars were so beautiful too! Definitely recommend!
