We had such a relaxing time! A hidden oasis amongst the trees & wildlife. We had everything we needed. So many little touches that wouldn’t even be expected, but were greatly appreciated- Pete & Margot clearly care about the experience of their guests which is so refreshing & we were very grateful.
We will look to stay again, and would recommend to couples or an individual who want to relax and use it as a base to explore some of the fantastic beaches nearby (Seals Rock was a great recommendation from Pete).

I had the most amazing stay at The Back Road Van. Pete and Margot are generous and thoughtful, but distant hosts. This is one of those finds that you want to keep your own secret, yet tell everyone about. Highlights for me were stargazing at night by the firepit and my morning cuppas looking out at the wildlife. Already looking at the calendar for when I can return.

We had a great time staying at Pete and Margot’s place. It had everything we needed for our stay, and was very cozy. Pete was kind enough to prepare the fire for us every day so we could enjoy stargazing in the evenings by the fire! Would recommend to all :)

Wow what a treasure this caravan was! The bed was warm and cozy, everything about it was thought out, which made my stay amazing. Highly recommend if you want a quiet stay with open spaces. Pete and Margot have done a wonderful job....thank you for letting me stay, I will be back when Sydney gets too much again! :) Coral

Pete & Margot were absolutely amazing hosts! It was honestly the best get away my husband and I have had in a very long time.
The caravan was decorated in the cutest 70's retro style and provided great comforts during a very wet weekend. Their property is absolutely stunning! The sounds and views of the birds and the native wildlife was an absolute treat to experience. The rain slowed down with enough time for us enjoy beautiful relaxation by the campfire.
There was milk, bread, tea, coffee and many other great little comforts around the place that made us feel so welcomed and looked after.
Very kind and generous hosts, we will definitely be returning for more Bulahdelah adventures at The Back Road Van :)

What a brilliant set up! Pete and Margot were so welcoming, we loved our stay, everything was perfect, the attention to detail was incredible. The little touches of fresh eggs, milk and chocolates were greatly appreciated, as was the fire pit, the supply of firewood and the stars! We will definitely be back, would give a rating of 11/10 if we could!

Pete and Margot's little slice of heaven was an amazing getaway for the weekend, sat in the awesome town of Bulahdelah. They provided unmatched service and help, with multiple guides on the area and leaving great supplies to make the stay as welcoming as possible. We would 100% be happy to come back and would recommend this spot to anyone looking.

I recently stayed at The Back Road Van for two nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. Pete and Marg went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay. The caravan was super cute and cozy, with a well-stocked kitchen and a fully equipped bathroom - no detail was missed. The real highlight, though, was the campfire under the stars and the abundance of wildlife nearby.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing hosts and a true connection to nature, this is the place to be.

We highly recommend The Back Road Van, we’ll definitely be back! We stayed for the night in October 2024 for a BBQ dinner and drinks by the fire. We had our nine year old large dog with us, and the stay couldn’t have been easier with him in the van. Pete and Margot had every facility or amenity during our stay set up so well - Pete even set up the fire before we arrived so it was immediately ready for an easy and relaxing evening.
Pete was really welcoming when we arrived too which made us feel right at home!

I had such a wonderful weekend at the Back Road Van. The Hosts were great and very helpful and we had every privacy during our stay. The Van is adorable and everything has been thought of and it was a truly enjoyable stay. The shower is amazing as a small side note... I will definitely be a return visitor...

We loved our glamping with Pete and Margot.
Everything was beautifully presented. Everything that we needed was there. Very clean and quiet spot to getaway from Sydney’s chaos. We will definitely be coming back to here!

The Back Road Van
By far the best accommodation we have ever been to! The hospitality was amazing and so well thought out. From having a spare toothbrush, shower cap, alongside complimentary bread, milk and eggs, The Van was very well equipped for everything you would need for a stay. We only stayed for one night, but could’ve easily stayed for more and we will definitely be coming back!

Not proud of the the pun in the title. I am however chuffed with myself for booking a stay at the Back Road Van! Pete was an absolutely lovely bloke, and although we didn’t meet Margot you could tell from how she fitted out the camper she’s definitely a bloody legend! It was so well stocked with everything you could need and more. And even with its proximity to the house it felt very private. Amenities 10/10. Wish we’d booked for longer!

A wonderful stay! The space inside and out of the van was very clean, cosy and comfortable. Loved all the little touches, and appreciated the egg, bread and choccies in the fridge. Great amenities. Only stayed the one night but would loved to have stayed longer. Very welcoming and friendly hosts 😊

What a luxurious camping, we loved everything about this place. Pete and Margot have gone above and beyond to make this very special. Everything is provided, you just need to bring your own food if you plan to cook and just sit back and relax. We spent whole night sitting around bonfire talking, drinking wine and star gazing. What a perfect getaway! Thank you Pete & Margot, we will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic experience at here. The vibe of the caravan is super cozy and relaxing. Everything is so well prepared, honestly, all you need to bring is some food and drinks. They have everything ready for you. Lovely gardens and well maintained. We would love to come back for more stays. What a lovely night.

This is 100% the best place to stay EVER! It feels like you are the only people there, there is wildlife to see and you can make a fire and look up at the stars at night! We went in the pouring rain and it was still perfect. The van is under a shelter which meant we could still cook on the BBQ and sit outside all night! The only thing you need is some boots to keep the mud away.
What do you need to bring.....NOTHING!! Everything you could possibly need is already there!! The best hospitality of anywhere I have ever stayed!! Thank you for such a magical weekend, we cant wait to come back!

Wow! We just had the most amazing stay at the Back Road Van over the Easter long weekend. Pete and Margot's property is beautiful & spacious with lots of wildlife and you feel really in nature. It was so nice cooking on the BBQ provided (breakfast and dinner) and making fires in the evening with a beer. The Van also has absolutely everything you need as well. Bed was comfy and you have your own bathroom to use. Being pet friendly is a huge plus, our dog absolutely loved it. It is also not too far from some coastal destinations like seal rocks and Forster where you can easily go for day trips. Pete and Margot were so hospitable also giving you some extra treats which were really enjoyed local eggs, milk, pickles etc. Thank you so much, we will be back!

My stay at The Back Road Van was amazing! Even though the weather wasn't really good and it was raining most of the time I was there, it was still really nice!
Peter was such a nice and warm host and made me feel very welcome there. The van is located next to their house but still has a lot of privacy.
The van interior makes you travel straight back to the 70's and it's beautiful and super clean.
Their property is beautiful and they have a great pool, pond and gazebo to watch the views.
I highly recommend their place :)
