The Cow Shed
What a beautiful spot! The trees are huge and magnificent and the swimming hole quite magical. Gabrielle did everything to make our stay as comfortable and lovely as possible.
I would highly recommend staying there.
The road is long and windy from Bellingen to the Cow Shed so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.

What an absolutely beautiful place, it was perfect.
Gabrielle and greg were lovely hosts who had thought of everything.
The personal touches were so well thought out and everything about the cow shed and extended property are magical.
This is by far our favourite place yet.

The Cow Shed
What a magical spot. Everything about the Cow Shed was what we were hoping for and more. Gabrielle and Greg were so welcoming.
Putting our toddler to bed each night was a breeze because she was exhausted from feeding the horse, waving at the cows and collecting chicken eggs. My partner and I then sat outside by the fire pit under the stars enjoying the property.
I’ll say it again, just magical.

Far beyond my expectations, it was cute, hospitable, and a welcome space for a weekend away. I only wished I realised how much I would just want to stay there and do nothing but relax, instead of using it as a home base while I attended a nearby event.
I did get to spend the last 24 hours just simply relaxing, and it was amazing. The local town was cute, the drive to the property was like something from a movie. All in all it felt like I entered a portal from the real world into a fantasy world for the weekend I stayed, and my only desire is to go back for longer.

Another great stay at the cow shed. Greg and Gabrielle are the best hosts. They are so welcoming we felt like family when we visit. We arrive to the fireplace lit and everything you could ask for. The cottage is very private and the outdoor bath under the stars is a highlight. This was out second visit and we be back again! Thank you guys again for an amazing stay.

My partner and I felt a wonderful sense of place, of calmness and peace. Our hearts melted into the cabin and surrounding land that left us with a sense of renewed energy and purpose. We could not recommend the Cow Shed more and feel privileged to have been able to spend time there. True beauty echoed by the absolutely lovely hosts Gabrielle and Greg. Thank you.

One of our all time favourite HipCamp stays. Gabrielle and Greg have been the most amazing hosts. Their hospitality and eye for detail is second to none. There is not a detail they have not thought of and added to make the experience incredible. A must stay!

The Cow Shed
My family and I loved it here. Gabrielle and Greg were absolutely lovely and we felt so welcomed. Our kids loved hanging out at the river and feeding the chickens and 'eagle', as well as meeting 'the boys (charismatic bulls). It is a beautiful place full of the personality and charm of the hosts who have filled the farm with a lifetime of stories and style

What a gem! Both the cowshed as well as Gabrielle and Greg! This beautiful spot lays well tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and is an oasis of tranquility. The cowshed has everything you need and in combination with the exceptional hospitality of the hosts you don’t want to go home anymore. Playing the records, swimming in the river and star gazing next to the bonfire were definitely the highlights of our stay. We will be back soon!

The Cow Shed
The Cow Shed really exceeded our expectations, the property is peaceful, beautiful and the accommodation had everything we needed and more. We loved soaking in the tub under the stars and feeding the chickens and the horse each morning was the highlight of the trip for our 6 year old daughter. Gabrielle and Greg were so hospitable and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Couldn't recommend it more.

Loved the Cow Shed . Beautifully restored & lovingly decorated to suit country . Everything on hand , nothing needed to spend a couple of restful days to soak up the serenity.
Gabrielle & Greg are perfect hosts , 5 & 7 yr old boys loved the experience, feeding chooks collecting eggs , feeding the horse & cattle .

Absolutely perfect, not only is the cow shed beautiful but it has everything you could ever want and more there too. Beautiful rainforest walks, swimming holes and picnic spots nearby. Amazing hosts who set up the place like it was from a fairy tale to help me surprise my wife on our anniversary, music and fire going, fairy lights , candles, and a nice hot outdoor bath under the stars. Couldn't recommend enough we will definitely be back!

Gabrielle and Greg are the most wonderful, natural hosts. We got a very warm welcome to the Cow Shed and a rundown on how it all works and where everything is. Little, thoughtful touches abound around the cottage and you’ll likely find everything you need or want.
Exploring the river, with pristine, crystal clear water, is a must. Hike around the surrounding forest or just laze away a few chapters in the hammock. In the evenings we cranked the wood fire, turned up the record player, poured a wine or four and had a hot bath on the deck watching the moon rising. The Cow Shed is a magical, romantic place, as is the beautiful Kalang Valley. We’ll be back and will also wholeheartedly recommend Gabrielle and Greg’s piece of paradise to friends and family.

My partner and I stayed at the Cow Shed, and my goodness it did not disappoint. We arrived at sundown and Gabrielle and Greg had the fires going. Not only that, but they provided us with fresh vegetables and eggs from their property. What an absolutely magical stay! The energy in the cabin is beautiful, from the outdoor bath, to the piano and record player, we didn’t want to leave.
There is a river crossing to enter the property, but we managed well with a low car. Just worth being mindful during a period of big rain.
We will definitely be back! X

Meandering through the last few kilometres on kalang road, with light filtering through the trees 🌲 we felt a sense of calm and serene and knew we were going to be in for a pleasant surprise at the “Cow shed “.
We were greeted with the warmest welcome and open heart ,as someone does when sharing their precious home .
The place is quaint, but filled with wonderful treasures and the small touches that make you realise a lot of love has gone into its making . Every nook has a something special waiting to be discovered .Whether it’s the old record player , with an array of records to choose from , or the warm fireplace with plenty of wood 🪵 or the kitchen with modern touches and the co-existence of the old world , the fire pit outside and my absolute favourite -the bathtub under the stars , every little touch gives you the feeling that you truly are in heaven .
The only sound that broke the silence were the king parrots or the cows 🐮 appreciating their morning feed .
For anyone that loves a challenge, the afternoon dip in the icy cold kalang river on the property was a treat that awakened every sense .
I couldn’t recommend this place enough for all the wonderful treasures it has in store waiting to be discovered and the absolute warmth that both Gabrielle and Greg exude from the minute you meet them .
Truly a wonderful stay and wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy this “peace of heaven “.

We had an amazing 5 days in the cabin and couldn't recommend it highly enough. From the outdoor bath, walks around the property, playing the piano and listening to the black cockatoos - absolute bliss. Gabrielle and Greg have done an amazing job restoring the cow shed and we can't wait to come back!

WOW for The Cow Shed and WOW for the hosts! Such a relaxing peaceful place to unwind. The old cow shed (Greg said the building is over 100 years old) has been restored and converted into a great little shack with everything you would need and more. The hosts have left nothing to chance it's all there! Gabrielle and Greg were awesome hosts with nothing too much trouble. We really can't wait to book our next trip to The Cow Shed!

Imagine a little Story book cottage nestled deep in the rainforest, where time stands still . Aside from the beautiful birdsong floating on the wind. all you will hear is the odd little critter scuttling in the underbrush. Truly relaxing.
The converted cow bails is wonderfully thought-out whilst maintaining the integrity, history and soul of the building. It is very well stocked with anything you may need. The hosts Gabrielle and Greg are some of the kindest most interesting people I’ve met , and words cannot convey how welcoming and helpful they were during my stay. They wrote a welcome note and filled every vase with fresh flowers, collected fresh eggs and honey and even offered to pick up my cake from a nearby town to save me having to make another trip after only just arriving. I highly recommend you book your trip today ☺️❤️

The Cow Shed
Genuine, beautifully warm spaces of this caliber are so rare you forget they can actually exist. From when we first arrived the love and care that has gone into this beautiful space is obvious… the rustic creative charm created is so warm and welcoming we didn’t want to leave.
Thank you for the most precious 3 days with our 6 and 9 year old daughters where we switched off from the outside world, danced to records, played the piano, splashed in the river, walked in the forest, hand fed the cows and Eagle the horse (we love them all), sat by the fire, bathed under the stars, had the best sleeps and created the warmest memories.
We could not recommend this gem of a place highly enough!
Gabrielle and Greg you truly know how to create a space of authenticity and humbleness .. thank you for sharing your beautiful place, the connection, and memories … We look forward to seeing you again.

This was the most heavenly, quaint getaway for my partner and I. We spent our two days enjoying the wood fire, bathing on the deck, lying out under the stars, cooking, listening to the vinyl records and wandering the property to visit the horse 'Eagle' and the beautiful creek. The cow shed had everything we needed and everything we didn't know we needed! Gabrielle and Greg were so welcoming, helpful and kind, whilst also leaving us to enjoy the property ourselves. We can't wait to visit again!
