Serendipity - a fortunate discovery; We are situated 10km out of Parkes which is home to the famous Dish and the annual Elvis Festival. Set on a gentle slope, it boasts picturesque views of the surrounding mixed farmland, tranquil dams and lush native vegetation for you to enjoy. Guests are offered access to stroll around our 18acre property by foot only. Vehicles are to be kept at the campsite, however. There are a couple of logs up the top of the hill that you can see from the campground. This is a great spot to wander up enjoy a drink at sunset. Pets are allowed but must be on leash at all times. We do have 2 dogs, Jack and Rusty, chooks and guinea fowls and the nature of the property abundant wildlife may be present. We breed silkie chickens so while you're wandering around, you may see all different ages of the chickens in the fenced yard behind the shed. Guests are welcome to enjoy a campfire in the designated area during the winter months when the local regulations permit. The statutory Bush Fire period is from 1st October to 31st March. Firewood is available however we kindly ask for a small donation please. A chemical toilet and hot shower in a rustic shed is available for your convenience. An honesty pay by use system at $5/shower. No electricity to the shed (yet) so will require you to take your torch during the night. Please keep an eye on small children as we have 3 unfenced dams on our property. If kicking back and reading is your thing, then we've got you sorted! We have a bush library and information board available. Test your skills on some bush riddles, trivia and card games that you will find in the library. We've got a few activities to keep the kids busy too. A basketball hoop to shoot some hoops, fly a frisbee, even a game of quoits. This is our home which we love very much. We love people also enjoying this space. We are available to give any assistance that you may need during your stay. A lovely setting, with views over a dam, firepit and gorgeous dogs. Our host was very welcoming, with clear instructions on how to get there. We only stayed for the night, but a great spot for a quiet and private camp. Thanks so much.

We rolled into camp and the fire was started awaiting us,Kate and the kids were more than helpful and tony swung down after work to say gday,nice and close to parkes township,but far enough away you feel like your a million miles from anywhere.After sunset the stars in the sky were so bright you can gaze all night long,definately will be back with the caravan next time round as it would make a perfect base camp if your wandering around exploring town and surrounds,ample room for access anyone thats wandering.Thanks Kate & Tony for having us for the night,cheers mitch.

We booked pretty last minute, but quickly had information on how to get there, and where to set up when we arrived. Field was tidy and facilities clean, but basic. Shower works well. They also messaged to check how we were getting on with our journey. Unfortunately didn’t get to meet in person, but great hosts.

Good people, Tony was very helpful. Didn't use amenities but they are very well kept. When not in drought there is a dam to swim in. They are very responsive and good to deal with. I would recommend this camp highly.

A really lovely experience - I had the paddock to myself! Kate and Tony were responsive and friendly, and made me feel safe as a solo female traveller. Everything was as described - made for a peaceful stay!

We stayed here for two nights and found it to be a convenient spot close to Parkes. It’s a practical place to stay if you’re attending an event in town, as it’s only a short drive away. The view from the site was lovely, and the host was friendly and welcoming. There were a few things that didn’t quite work for us. The toilet had no light, and by the third day of use it seemed to struggle with pumping water and hadn’t been emptied or changed. The site also wasn’t very private. Two children who live on the property visited our van frequently, often bringing their puppy, who barked in our dog’s face without any adult supervision. The kids also rode loud motorbikes around the property quite regularly, which impacted the peacefulness of the stay. Overall, it was a handy two-night base close to Parkes with a nice outlook, but improvements to the amenities and privacy would really enhance the experience.

Had a great stay at Serendipity. Plenty of room to stretch out, nice hot shower and lovely hosts. Tony said g'day to introduce the place then left me to my own devices! I was there solo but I reckon it would go down a treat with a little crew as well. I would definitely recommended

Our family LOVED staying at Serendipity. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourself so set up by the fire pit and made the most of the complimentary fire wood. The sunset views were spectacular and the kids had plenty of room to run and play. 10/10 recommend.

We spent two great nights camped at Kate and Tony's lovely property. Nice grassed paddock with 0plenty of room and a great communal fire pit (although we could have had our own fire should we wished). Easy access to Parkes. Highly recommended.

Kate and Tony were very friendly and welcoming. They presented the camping area very nicely with the freedom to walk around their property. It was 10mins to Parkes, so well placed.

We stayed for three days here with friends of ours. This was such a beautiful spot and Kate and Tony our hosts were so lovely. We would definitely stay again. They even had hot showers and toilet based on an honesty box system. Beautiful sunsets too and not too far from town.

Open space., beautiful views of the dam. Clear skies at night reveal the milky way in all its glory. Porta pottie toilets available, which are handy if you don’t have a toilet on board.
