Rowlands Creek Camp Area
We stayed here with a big group and six kids, and everyone had an absolute ball! The kids spent hours on the rope swing, saying hello to the horse, and sitting around the campfire toasting marshmallows.
It’s such a peaceful, beautiful spot — surrounded by trees, with plenty of space to spread out and relax. Simple, quiet, and full of that real bush charm. If you’re after a down-to-earth camping experience where the kids can be kids and the adults can actually unwind, this place is perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved our night at Rowlands. We had the camp ground to ourselves and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Had a beautiful bath with one of the majestic horses nearby who eventually came over for a drink of water. Was a gorgeous little stop over on our road trip.

Lovely spot near creek, great bird life, would have liked to stay longer but unfortunately booked out. Enjoyed the friendly horse. I like that you can pick a spot when you get there. Picnic tables were a bonus & fire pits.

This is the most wonderful spot.. beautifully maintained grounds - wide open grassed space for kids to run around and play, bordered by gorgeous pines and a lovely creek. Even though it hasn't rained for ages the creek was still swimable and everything was lovely and lush and green. Very clean and functional porta-toilets. And really loved the large amount of space between each site. We will definitely be back here - one of our favourite hip camps so far!

Such a great experience. Brodie was super accommodating with our interesting booking (different families arriving on different days etc). The location was great - few mins from the closest town for our morning coffee (🙌🏼) and creek was very fresh but nice to swim in. Little Rockpool area for the toddlers. Great spot right next to a hill/mountain that kept the sun away until a reasonable time, so all the kids slept in!!
Rope swings over the creek and on land, suuuper friendly horse that behaved more like a lapdog (eating breakfast with us 😂) and although we could see other campers, they were far enough away it felt like it was just us! There were a bunch of horse flys during the day, but if we kept the fire going, the smoke got rid of them. Toilets were perfectly clean once the cleaner visited, which was handy with young kids.
Would highly recommend giving Brodie’s property a visit - you’ll love it!

Beautiful location, peaceful, and well kept by the owners. Loved that the camp sites came with a fire pit and park bench too.
Short distance to Uki if you need to make a quick trip to pick up supplies and there’s plenty of hikes nearby.
Also loved the resident horses. Especially the one with the attitude when I wouldn’t share my meat packed meal with it hahaha.

Amazing area. Very quiet as there is heaps of space between the camp sites. Only downside which couldn’t be helped was the March flies.

Perfect location, idyllic and feels isolated.
This stay was in early October.
Busy upon arrival, but luckily landed, arguably the best site on the property.
Flat, grassy and adjacent to bubbling the section of the creek/waterway.
(Southern end, set back on the property, directly behind the toilets, on your right, as you enter)
Bathtubs are a cool addition.. a bit of hard work to fill but worth it in the end.
“Firewood” location onsite was empty, during our visit and the Uki option worked perfectly!
Evenings were the absolute highlight!!
Cool enough to still enjoy a fire in October.
Stargazing, when the skies are clear was truly outstanding, well worth the trip!
Wasn’t as lucky this time, but on my first visit here, saw Fire Flies and witnessed the resident Platypus.. which was amazing!
Mount Warning Hotel is a must visit.
Close, great atmosphere and fantastic meals (dog friendly location as well!)
Uki is only 10mins away, has a great little General Store and cheap firewood ($10/bag, leave money in a bucket. not traditional “firewood” but burns so damn well, it is worth it)
But there was a downside..
The March Flies were horrendous!
Barraged from early morning, throughout the day and into dusk, they were relentless!
During the approaching warmer months, I could only imagine that they would be even worse.
Will definitely be returning. to this HipCamp, loved the ambience, sounds of local wildlife and the locality.
We will just stick to the winter months.

Beautiful relaxed area with gorgeous creek and xl camping sites. Every site is a winner. Also, the shade was a bonus. Having the fireplaces and table waiting there for you made set up easy and stress free. We will definitely be coming back :)

SITE #6. Beautiful spacious land right on the creek. Easy access into the creek for a dip. Flat site perfect for a caravan. Easy to turn around caravans as plenty of space.
Recommend a couple fly swats as the March Flies were relentless.
Pick up firewood on your through Murwillumbah as there may not be any available at camp.
Telstra coverage is intermittent.

We had a very relaxing time here reconnecting with nature. The sites were far enough apart to not disturb each other. The directions were clear, the horses were friendly, and having a bath was a highlight!

We had a great time at Rowlands Creek Campsite. The sites are well set up and in a beautiful, quiet spot, just a short drive from Uki and Mount Jerusalem National Park. It’s a perfect base for exploring the area while still feeling tucked away in nature. The facilities were well maintained and it was easy to relax and unwind. We had to bring our own firewood as there was none available so check ahead before you go. Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable place to stay

Picturesque spot and lovely grassy flat land to pitch tent. Got some nice early afternoon shade too which was welcomed on the 30 degree days.
Sites well spaced out too. There was no firewood available despite the listing saying there was, which meant an unexpected hunt for wood late afternoon when we wanted to relax & chill on day #1.
Close to uki which was very handy and nice to see that the other campers were also respectful of the owners request for quiet at the camp sites to allow all to enjoy the beautiful nature & stillness.

We loved camping at rowlands, we were lucky enough to get the site with the tree swing and the swing over the creek. Beautiful scenery and the horses were friendly. Very clean portaloos.

- The stargazing was next level amazing
- Camp-sites were nicely spaced apart and plenty of room for the kids and dogs to run around
- Kookaburras, horses and cows were great

- Overpriced for what it is in comparison to other Hipcamps we've stayed at
- Photos and reviews on Hipcamp weren't (in our opinion) an accurate depiction of the camp-site
- Traffic passing drowns out the birds chirping and the creek babbling in the background
- Too many march flies

This place is incredible. Great remote camp big enough for all caravans. Kids loved the warm campfire bath. Definitely our favourite Hipcamp so far.
