Very close to the road (which was ok for us) but can see this might be a problem for others.

We enjoyed our camp at Rosebrook campsite. Its location being close to town and proximity to the river was fantastic. I took my 5 year old son for his first night away camping and fishing which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back for sure his only complaint was we weren’t there long enough. Haha. Until next time.

Our site was clean, with minimal levelling required. There was good grass cover and the paddock firm and dry.
The wide, double gate is good. It is recessed, which gets you off the road to open and close it safely.
The campsites are a long distance from each other.
Emma provides the address to enter in Apple Maps, which takes you to the driveway. It is a very, very different location if you enter the address in Google Maps or Waze. There is zero signage to tell you when you have arrived. We used Apple Maps and still managed to overshoot the driveway.
There's no trees between the camping area and the road so we felt a little "on display". There was a lot of traffic noise. Maybe it was because it was a long weekend, but there were lots of motorbikes and plenty of cars using this road, both day and night.
The description of each Site was the same which made me believe I had access to the river from Site 1. I should have read more of the reviews before I made our booking. We had planned to spend plenty of time by the river. Once we got here we realised Site 1 did not have direct river access. You have to walk through Site 2 to get to the river. Subsequently, we did not go to the river at all because we felt uncomfortable walking though someone else's site without them expecting us to. The description for each site should explain the river access better.
Overall I was disappointed with this camp. I would stay for an overnight, passing through stop, but not for a longer stay.

Lovely spot, great views to the river, awesome to watch the sunset. Walk isn’t too far down the hill to the river which was quite shallow and perfect for our dogs to play in. Only thing I would mention is that you are quite close to a road (although it isn’t a main road) so any traffic driving past can see you and you can see/hear them. Otherwise great spot!

This place is our go-to getaway for a few days away. Close enough to amenities but far enough away to feel away from it all. It’s becoming a regular for us…a great place to enjoy some down time. We’ve been to Emma’s a few times now and we keep going back.

This is a great space for a long or short stay. It’s close to Maitland and other valley attractions. We often stay here when we just want an easy, relaxing few days away. The space is well maintained, grass is green and mowed. The river was accessible and was a great spot to cool off.

We loved our stay at Rosebrook, it was just what the doctor ordered. Peaceful, self sufficient open paddock with the river a short, albeit a little steep 😅 stroll away. We were able to spread a blanket next to the supplied fire pit, and and listen to music while gazing up at the stars. Best option at the moment would be to set up away from the tree line a bit, the cicadas are super loud right now, but that's everywhere!
Definitely a place we'd stay again. The close proximity to the road is a non issue, very minimal traffic along it, and you feel isolated enough from the other camp-site too. We did spot an eel in the river the next morning, but we had a refreshing wade in the water to cool off with no issues.

Need to bring some shade for the summer sun, but a nice spot. Plenty of fish, birds, lizards and a kangaroo down on the river and had a younger water dragon jump out onto some branches in the water while I paddle passed in my kayak.

Great spot definitely will be back. If staying at Rosebrook one, you do have to walk a little to the right of gate coming in if you want to go to the river for a fish or kayak etc but not too far.

Stayed on the yellow section. I recon it’s the best of the two spots and had a large tree for shade. So much room to choose your spot. You’re elevated so you get a nice breeze. The water was so warm. Don’t tell anyone how good it is so it’s not always booked out. Only issue was Emma didn’t greet me with a nice cold beer……lol.

Had the best time!
Great for a stand up paddle board and Kayak.
Lucky and Daisy (dogs) had so much fun chasing the ball in the water. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go again!

We had booked a stay here on site 1 as it looked lovely however, unfortunately when we turned up there was already someone else on our site so we had to stay on site 2 which wasn’t as nice. Emma did offer to try relocate them which was great of her but the other campers setup was too extensive to pack and move easily or quickly. Highly recommend putting some signage up to make it more obvious to other campers who don’t match the site image on the booking with the actual location. The second site is closer to the road, the view wasn’t as good, the lawn didn’t look as nice as the photos and there was dog poo on the site as well. Overall, it wasn’t one of our best experiences.

Rosebrook was perfect for our sneaky midweek camping trip close to home, in Newcastle.
I’d been eyeing this gem off for a while, and was not disappointed. The grounds were well maintained and the outlook/surrounds were beautiful. I’d never travelled along this road before, and it is a gorgeous area.
There was plenty of space to explore, and we went home with 3 VERY tired doggos after many frolics in the field and by the river.
The river is quite low at the moment - which is obviously out of Emma’s control - and too cold for a dip anyway, in my opinion!
The nights were cold, but it made it that much nicer sitting by the fire with a glass of red. We had sunny days, clear crisp nights and were not short on stars.
Emma was a responsive and accommodating host, and was more than happy to fulfil any requests I came to her with.
As I told, Emma. I do believe a gate at the entrance to the property would be good for peace of mind when it comes to having dogs or if you have small children on the trip.
It is not an overly busy road, but the campsites are close enough to the road that you would need to be that little bit more vigilant.
All and all, Rosebrook was a great little
spot for a good price, and we will be back.

Great spot, close to home for me, plenty of room.
Overlooking the river and watching the bush television, singing some campfire tunes and cooking up a feed, it doesn’t get much better for the overnighter we were after. Emma was a pleasure to deal with. Will return again, and again.
