We loved the peace and quiet, no other campers and our furbaby thoroughly enjoyed the space to run around. Great, clean porta-loo. The covered BBQ area and firepit were very useful.
We will be visiting again! 5/5 stars.

Absolutely loved our weekend stay at the River bend Retreat! Lots of space all to yourself beautiful swimming spot on the Wilsons River just metres away from camp! Own private toilet facilities on the site were very clean and pleasant! The sites big undercover shelter came in handy to keep out of the wet weather and was great as a communal area for the camp! We got the damper kit add on which was wonderfully put together with everything you needed and was delicious! 100% recommended this stay at River Bend Retreat and thank you Kate for having us you were such a delightful host we really enjoyed our stay!

Riverbend Retreat
The highlight of this camp is that there is only one booking so it's very private. Would be good for a group.
The covered area, fire pit and picnic table make camping very easy, especially with a flushing toilet just up the hill.
The river was quite low when we visited and it's a bit tricky getting down to it. Not great for swimming. But nice to watch from the hammock and chair under the tree.
Host was very responsive to our questions.

A piece of paradise, all to myself. Wonderful grassed riverside camp site woth a porta loo. There's swings and kayaks, frogs and birds. The host is super respectful and caring. I felt safe camping on my own. Highly recommended

The weekend that we camped here was forecast to be hot but the river flowing so close by sure made up for it. We experienced beautiful scenery as well as plenty of serenity peace a quiet. A beautiful spot. Kate is a wonderful helpful host and made us feel incredibly welcome with great communication and directions. My Wife and I have marked this one for a return visit as even dog enjoyed it so much.

We had such a great stay! The facilities were excellent with clean toilets, a warm shower, and the campsite had its own private swimming spot right on site, which was such a bonus. The additional damper was a thoughtful touch and very much enjoyed. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the start. On top of that, the location was beautiful and peaceful, the perfect private spot for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!

Great shade under-the camphor laurels for the camper on a flat bit of ground. Plenty of space and very quiet. Enjoyed the river and caught a few bass (released). Kate also very low fuss.

Absolutely adored this spot! Extremely well kept and had everything you could need right there so if you forgot something it wasn’t an issue. Had some outdoor games available to play, kayaks, firewood, fire pit, and an axe. Nestled into a beautiful location with the river in your backyard. We brought our swag and were spoilt with flat spots to set up too.
Would definitely return for another stay if we are back in this area again

Riverbend Retreat
We booked Riverbend Retreat to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday with a few of her friends.
The site was perfect. When you book the site you get it all to yourself which meant we didn’t have to worry about boisterous teenagers annoying other campers. Highlights include Kate’s thoughtful touches like basic items, firelighters, drinking water, fire wood, first aid kit, etc available if you forget them or run out. She left us a little birthday treat, a wonderful personal touch and we thoroughly enjoyed our damper. Thank you Kate!
The covered area and picnic table are a real bonus and wonderful to avoid the afternoon sun and the morning shower we had on Saturday morning. The toilet, availability of water and shower make camping here just that little bit easier. The site is flat and large enough to accommodate a number of “set-ups” perfect for families and groups. River access is a little tricky but helped by handrails installed to help you get down there and it is fast flowing so you need to be conscious of this.
The site is well signposted and easy to find with good access, it is pet friendly and our dogs loved it. With no booking either side of us, Kate allowed us an early check in and late check out. All in all, a wonderful weekend with a great site and a lovely host willing to answer any questions through the stay promptly. Highly recommend.

Kate was a great host and made sure everything was ready for us, even leaving some delicious fresh fruit. The location was very private and quiet, with plenty of open grass for activities. The shower and toilet were clean and well looked after. Canoeing along the river was lovely, and we enjoyed seeing the cows nearby. The view from the top of the nearby hill (quite a short walk) was amazing at sunset.

Its such a great spot! Plenty of room for a group and short distance to the Eltham hotel and so much more. Kate has it we'll set up with toilet, shower and all the add-ons you'd need if you forget anything.

Me, my partner and our pooch spent a night at Riverbend, and we loved it. A great grassy area of the stream, very relaxing, clean toilets, amazing fire area. Picnic table was fantastic, and the new shelter worked a treat. I highly recommend this site

Enjoyed a few nights here tent/swag camping. Super quiet with awesome view of the river.
Nice flat area to camp on with the fire pit and permanent shelter to set up camp around. Lots of rain in previous weeks prior to our stay had the ground soft underfoot but not muddy.
Even so, Kate was great at communicating and making sure we had the best possible experience.
The toilet and shower (cold) were clean and as seen in pictures. Definitely more than acceptable for a Hipcamp.
We were able to purchase extra firewood from Kate and she had campsite essentials available for purchase at fair prices.
Overall, great spot out the back of Byron/Lennox with lots of hidden gems around to explore. Would definitely go back. Cheers to the hosts.

I loved camping at Riverside retreat with my partner and doggo. We had such a peaceful and adventurous stay. The campsite is so tranquil and so well maintained, such a bonus to have the shower, toilet, fire pit, picnic table and large umbrella too. Checking in is super smooth and you can just drive into the campsite. Definitely recommend doing the canoe transfer from Eltham, it was definitely our highlight.
Thankyou so much Kate and your family for having us. We will definitely be back!

This was the 2nd time camping here, a what a great spot it is. I love how you get the hole place to your self, as only ‘1 site’ can be booked!
The creek is awesome for cooling off, and a short walk up the hill for sunset is well worth it!

Easy to find. Private and secluded. Creek was nice to chill in for a while and cool down. Great for star gazing. Perfect little place for our group to catch up for a night. Working toilet and the shower was awesome in the morning after packing up. I recommended you check this one out.

Had a great 5 days at Riverbend Retreat. We set up close to the river bank copped a bit of morning sun, however as the day progressed we were in the shade. A big site all to yourself so we simply moved our camping chairs to a shady spot. We particularly liked heading up to the swings and having a birds eye view of the river - just so peaceful and relaxing. Kate is clearly going out of her way to make the site extra special for her campers. The addition of the bench table and umbrella, the portaloo, the outdoor shower (never cold for us), the handrails down to the river if you needed them for extra safety, the hut with all the items she offers including the damper kit all with easy ways to pay for what you use and of course the welcome message were all very much appreciated by us.
Would recommend you go check out and stay at Riverbend Retreat.

Lovely spot. Great facilities. Very lovely & accommodating host. Hand written welcome board was a lovely touch. Very quiet & relaxing. Enjoyed kayaking up the river. Highly recommend. Looking forward to returning here.

Beautiful private setting amongst the hills and cows. I didn’t realise that by booking the campsite I got the whole place to myself which was amazing. The little hand written board was such a nice touch. Kate was a super responsive host!
There was no real path down to the river and it was a bit muddy and uneven so just watch your step.
Overall a fabulous stay! The stars were next level.
