This cattle and sheep property in New Valley, half an hour south of Inverell, is raw and beautiful, with New Valley Creek running through it, swimming holes, and waterfalls. Newly laid trails make exploring the property easy, from valleys to hilltops. If you are looking for a natural wonderland, where you can enjoy Australian bush camping at its absolute best, this is it. The property is so spectacular, that parts of it have even been featured on TV's Farmer Wants a Wife. The terrain is rugged and hilly, but the host has created easy access to several excellent, grassy camping sites some exclusive to one group at a time, others around the large dam but still with plenty of space. They all have good road access for even 2WD, provided they have good clearance. The creek and rocks are stunning and will provide hours of fun. Fishing tours are run on the property at an extra cost, it is strictly catch and release and must discuss it beforehand with the host. We do not permit hunting as we want our guests to have and enjoy the tranquility and space. Please note, that our Farmer Wants a Wife site has a long-drop toilet and designated fire ring, however, our other sites are for completely self-contained campers only. If you are visiting during the shearing season, you are welcome to come and check it out for an insight into farm life! Pet friendly, but only small breeds, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please discuss bringing your dog with the host before booking. Campfires are ok provided you BYO firepit, and they are kept small and manageable. There is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect for firewood. Strictly no cutting down of trees. No campfires during fire bans, or when conditions are not favourable. Whilst fishing tours are possible on the property, you must discuss your interest with the host prior as there are important rules around this and is , it's strictly catch-and-release only. We do not allow hunting of any description so that our visitors can have a quiet and relaxing stay without interruptions. Just five minutes up the road is Green Valley Fun Park with a huge playground, jumping pillow, animal walkabout, museum and 18 hole mini putt. So plenty to keep kids entertained both on and off the property!

This site was used as one of the filming locations for the Farmer Wants a Wife tv show, series 2022. We only accept one booking at a time on this site, so you have the whole space exclusively for your group. This is our largest private site, maximum capacity of 20 people and up to five vehicles. There is a basic long drop toilet. It is a relatively flat, and grassy area, with loads of room to spread out. It is located around 200-300mtrs from the creek and swimming holes, and you can walk, mountain bike, or drive down the road to the swimming holes very easily. Campfires are permitted in the designated fire ring and there is plenty of fallen timber around you are welcome to collect for firewood. Campfires must be kept small and manageable, and never lit during fire bans or when conditions are not favourable. If unsure, please check with us. From this site, there are many walks and trails with which you can explore the wider property. We recommend a morning or evening walk up the hill for a gorgeous sunrise or sunset. Good access for all types of camping sets up/trailers/caravans etc. Great for groups. Strictly no hunting.

We have several dams on the property, and these camping sites are located around the largest dam. We take up to 4 bookings at a time in this area, but there is plenty of space for your group to choose their own private spot around the dam. These sites are for self-contained campers only, you will need to have your own camp toilet and we kindly ask you take all waste when you go. The sites are a very short drive to some of the property's creek locations, where you can explore the rocks and enjoy a dip! Campfires are permitted in your own firepit (that is elevated off the ground) and there is plenty of fallen timber around you are welcome to collect for firewood. Campfires must be kept small and manageable, and never lit during fire bans or when conditions are not favourable. If unsure, please check with us. Good access for all types of camping sets up/trailers/caravans etc. Strictly no hunting.

Amazing experience camping at New Valley, Kay was so helpful to arrange the stay for our group of 3 families, tent, swags and a caravan. Freedom to pretty much do what we wanted, collect wood, fire, music etc. grassy area made it easy for camping especially with a baby. Kay and her husband were happy to show us around and let us explore the waterfall and rock pools on the property too. Would stay again for sure.

The dam site is nice a good view down the valley. We were serenaded by the frogs (but they cut out by bedtime) we saw wallabys black and pretty faced, kangaroos a couple of deer and lots of birds. There was plenty of camp fire wood also . It's in the property a bit but a good gravel track . Kay met us on the road and lead us there nice hosts.

This spot was perfect for us. Kay and Steve were absolutely amazing with communication and ensured everything was okay for our stay. The river was great to spend time by and loved just watching the wild goats traversing the rocky ravines. The stay was thoroughly relaxing and peaceful to just be out in hills with nature and escape everyday busy life for a while. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves the solitude when camping or even as a group that just wants a private space to spend together. We certainly plan to return.

A love warm welcome by Kay, and a heap of interaction before arrival, to ensure a successful check in. We got an upgrade to a beautifully stunning and very secluded spot, and Kay gave us a personal escort to the site. Definitely recommend a 4WD and off road trailer to get the the farmer wants a wife site if your booking there (the dam site, not quite as essential). So very worth it, though and sad to only have it as a stopover on the way to our final destination. Highly recommend if you are keen to get completely off the grid, away from any human noise and get back to nature.

We had the best time here. It was such a beautiful spot to be disconnected from the day to day and connect with each other and nature. The landscape is stunning, including the beautiful creek and waterfall at the bottom of the hill. Kay is lovely and wonderful to communicate with. We will be coming back for sure! Thanks Kay xx

The hosts were really lovely! Lots of Kangaroos and sheep to spot throughout the property. The river would be amazing in summer for a swim. We will definitely be back!

Our family had the best time at New Valley over the Easter Long Weekend. Mick & Kay had outstanding communication with us prior, during and after our stay. Mick showed us to our campsite and told us abit about their farm. Tranquil countryside, abundant wildlife, great swimming and fishing. Fantastic bush walking. Star gazers delight of a night. 🤩 Stunning views of sunrise and sunset. Adventure playground down the road at Green Valley Farm. Highly Recommend New Valley Hip Camp…. We will be back asap.

We had a wonderful family camp at the Farmer wants a wife site. Kay communicated quickly with us and her partner Mick was extremely personable, assisting us to our site and stopping by each day for a quick check-in. We enjoyed the 4wding around to look at the various creeks and gorges.

What an absolutely unreal place to stay, the photos do it absolutely no justice, there is an abundance of things to see and explore within the property. You could spend many a day just walking the gorges and finding new rock pools and waterfalls to enjoy. Kay and Mick are unreal hosts and we can't thank them enough for letting us stay on there property!

This was my second visit and our group just loved the peaceful seclusion around the campfire and the clear night sky. Kay & Mick are lovely hosts and even if other campers are on the property you wouldn't know. It's 2wd accessible, however I wouldn't recommend towing a caravan in without 4wd & off-road towing capacity. Suitable for self sufficient camping with some beautiful rocky water falls and swimming holes. There are fish in the creek (strictly catch and release), lots of wild goats traversing the rocky escarpments, kangaroos, wallabies and we saw some tawny frogmouth owls among many other varieties of wildlife during our stay. 10 minutes down the road you can visit Green Valley which has a museum, shop, caravan park & cabins, water park, camels, ostrich which I highly recommend visiting while in the area especially if you have children.

Kay and Mick are incredibly friendly hosts who go above to make your camping experience, one to remember. The Farmer Wants a Wife camp site is extremely private, with wide open spaces and sensational sunset views. There is plenty of firewood on the property for those cold nights and camp oven cook ups. The campsite is also within short walking distance to the creek with the most beautiful waterfalls and waterholes. The scenery and backdrop of the granite gorges in the distance from the campsite is equally spectacular. Whether you just want to sit around camp to relax and unwind or if you are a bit more adventurous and prefer exploring the beauty of this country, this property ticks all the boxes!

Incredible site. Kay and Michael made us feel very welcome, and there is no comparison for a campsite. Off the beaten track and far away from a crowd. The creek is amazing and certainly a highlight of our trip

This is a very special site. Kay met is on the road and showed us to the site herself. She was very welcoming and told us to call her if we needed anything. I note the road within the property was a 10 min trip and was a challenge for a 2wd so be prepared ( our i30 wagon was at its limit ! ) You are getting to stay on a site with wonderful sweeping views with a big expensive area around it all to yourself to wander about in . It’s deep within the property so you actually can’t hear any cars at all. There was lots of firewood freely available and some big fire pits. The soil is quite thin and it’s a rocky enough below so make sure you have sturdy tent pegs ! The creek (about 400m away) was amazing, a really stunning gorge full of wildlife, so many skinks and yes, I must say some red belly black snakes. Despite the company we had a lovely dip with plenty of depth for a bit of a swim. The historical town of Tingha is very interesting to check out especially the WIng Hing Long Museum . However it’s has quite limited grocery and dining options . This site would be amazing for a big group. Even though we were a small family we had a great time.

We had a fabulous time at the dam site. The kidskayaked, fished and caught yabbies. We went down to the gorge and floated about it was like we were the only people on earth. Kay and Michael are wonderful. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our camp at Michael and Kay’s , fantastic amount of great information getting out to and from the property , the road in and out is definitely 2wd accessible as long as you have clearance , we had heaps of wildlife sightings over the weekend, i can totally recommend to all that loves a great spot with huge skies you’ll never forget

Amazing stay at Michael and Kay’s property. Breath taking views and huge space so we were able to relax and had all this amazing sight to ourselves. We were allowed to bring our dog on leash which was an extra bonus. Sheep were visible but never came close .Michael and Kay were amazing hosts and communication was on point. We hope to come back as soon as possible. Thanks for sharing your property with us.
