Enjoy direct river access and try your luck at the seasonal bounty of Murray Cod, Golden Perch (yellow-belly) and huge blue crayfish! Muddy Waters is an ideal location for your adventures and outback experience. Walgett has a rich Indigenous and agricultural history, with significant sites located nearby. Walgett means “where two rivers meet” and Muddy Waters is less than 1km by boat from the junction of the Namoi and Barwon River. Set up base here and do daily tours at your own leisure. Brewarrina Fish Traps are 130km west & Lightning Ridge & Grawin/Glengarry Opal Fields situated 70km north. Enjoy a soak in a number of artesian bore baths in the shire like the often overlooked and quieter one in Walgett. No toilets here - campers must be self-contained and please leave no trace. Dogs welcome but kept under control as we have farm animals and dogs. Access to the campsites is possible for all types of vehicles and rigs. Campfires ok, and free firewood to collect.

Great fishing straight from camp. Just a short boat ride to the junction of the Barwon and Namoi Rivers. No amenities here, all campers must BYO toilet and take all waste with you.  Walgett has a rich Indigenous and agricultural history, with significant sites located nearby. Coolibah Cabin is a product of our vision to share our unique and beautiful land. The cabin is a fully furnished, rustic, one bedroom, reverse-cycle air conditioned cabin situated just 50m from the Barwon River on our property Muddy Waters. Features include a comfortable king size bed, lounge area with fold out double sofa bed, bathroom & kitchen amenities, washer/dryer combo. Enjoy the view off the floating deck verandah overlooking the billabong & river. Muddy Waters is only 5km’s from Walgett township. Close enough for work & shopping, but far enough from town to enjoy peace and tranquility. Try your luck at fishing for a yellow belly or cod, catch some yabbies, put in a kayak, do a spot of birdwatching or take a stroll along the river & creek. Perhaps just unwind in your own little rural retreat. Currently our road access is Dry Weather Only. Please call before booking to enquire weather details.

My husband and I loved staying at Muddy Waters waterfront!!! Luke and Carolyn were amazing hosts and even accommodated us arriving a day early!! As long as you have toilet this place is a lovely break away!! Enjoyed our stay and would go again for sure!!! Surprise treat is possible when you arrive! :)

Great spot on the river, fishing was good and so much bird life to watch. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay by an extra night.

We took our caravan here for one night. Lovely location right on the river. Easy to find and very quiet. We enjoyed sitting a campfire as the sun set.

Thank you Luke and Carolyn for letting us stay on your property! By the river, the sunrise/sunset and starts were just incredible. To top it off a camp fire where tea was cooked.

Luke was very accommodating and friendly This was our second visit and although we had to be careful this time due to flooding, we found a perfect spot, dry and safe for two vans and a camp fire under the stars.

Nice spot, very dry though. Creek is muddy as advertised. Major problem is broken glass all over the ground, making walking quite treacherous, especially for the dog..

Muddy Waters is a great location directly by the river. Best sites are unpowered. Walgett is also a great town compared to others nearby so worth a visit.

A typical country river campsite right on the Barwon River, complete with towering gum trees and plenty of cockatoos. A good fishing spot although I do lose a few lures. Would definitely return if I’m ever in the area.

We stayed a night in our tents at Muddy Waters. Host Luke was welcoming and easy going. Such a beautiful place to stay, perfect spot for our campfire by the creek and bushland outlook.

Great spot on the river, lots of bird life. We only had one other person camping in area. Reason for not putting great: loud water pump ran for a few hours on dusk which ruined it for us. I think neighbours property.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. We loved camping at Muddy Waters! The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. My boys spent our entire stay fishing and trying their luck for yabbies. Thank you Luke and Carolyn for an awesome stay!!

We had a beautiful river front site, metres from the river! Sites were flat and all had a fire pit. The peacocks visited us each afternoon before perching in their tree. We would definitely visit again.

Beautiful riverfront sight, peaceful and relaxing, definitely recommend, great alternative to caravan parks if you are totally self sufficient.

What a wonderful surprise ! Such a great camp at the river. You would need to take everything you needed and would suggest 4wd road was a little rough when we visited.

Nice location,had riverfront site with easy access.Luke was friendly and up for a chat.Dog friendly with plenty birdlife around.Didnt go for a swim but would be good in warmer months.

Muddy Waters is a fantastic spot to stay!!!! We planned on 2 nights and stayed 4….the artesian bore bath in Walgett divine not at all crowded and clean!!!! Lovely little town away from the crowds of Lightening Ridge easy day trip out to LR….Luke was so helpful and friendly along with Poppy the dachshund…highly recommend Muddy Waters!!!!! Thanks Luke for a great experience 😍

As everyone else has reviewed before me. As good as could be hoped for. Luke was plenty nice the couple times we seen him. Offered us some of his grown spinach. If im ever in the area again would stay again
