Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. May common sense prevail. Thank you for visiting the farm.

The Flats Campground
Nice spot! The animals were friendly, the view of the mountain is awesome (it was misty as the name suggested) and the sites were well spaced out. Walked over to the orchard and that site looks equally as good.

Goats
Only there a night but enjoyed it, especially hanging out with the alpacas, goats and many kangaroos. Host Paula (I think) was lovely.

Peaceful location
Lovely property and owners. Camping location on property felt very relaxing and private. Lovely walking tracks and animals to see. Property was close to Bemboka town centre and short a drive to other towns nearby. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Orchard Campground
Puppy paradise!
What a fantastic place you stay!! We booked the Orchard for 5 nights and it was a solid 8/10 for us. Our 2 large pups were able to live their best lives in the fenced in orchard and play along the rocky River! We spent our days exploring and soaking in the peaceful serenity. Ben is great, he allowed us to extend our stay and was so helpful, providing us a map of the area, a fire bucket and a good spot to collect fire wood! We'll definitely be back here!!
