Heartwood Farm is a centrally located 120 acres on the Mid-North Coast - about half way between Sydney and Brisbane, only 1.5 kms off Pacific Highway, 25 mins to Port Macquarie, 15 Mins to Kempsey, 30 minutes to Crescent Head and 45 mins to South West Rocks.  We are off grid and live close to nature and enjoy the abundance that provides. We have been building and developing for the last few years. We are still a work in progress. There are three Brumbies that have the run of the place. They are friendly, especially if you have a carrot. There are also a lot of kangaroos and wallabies, some quite friendly as they have been raised by our neighbour who does animal rescue. There are also a lot of different species of birds, including the much loved Black Cockatoos which are in abundance here. We have also seen turtles, frilled neck lizards, diamond pythons, red belly black snakes (rarely) and goannas. Very centrally located 120 acres on the Mid-North Coast - about half way between Sydney and Brisbane, only 1.5 kms off Pacific Highway. Numerous areas available next to large dams - and surrounding hardwood forest. Large number of kangaroos and wallabies, and incredible bird and reptile life. Access to beautiful creek and swimming holes. We are located just 25 mins to Port Macquarie, 15 minutes to Kempsey, 30 mins to Crescent Head, 30 mins to Wauchope, 45min to South West Rocks. Perfect for surfers who want proximity to a lot of different breaks or people that want explore some of the amazing scenery in the northern part of the mid-north coast.  You will need to be a self-contained camper who brings their own toilet and washing facilities and disposes of all rubbish. The water in dams and creek is drinkable although we suggest boiling first. We can provide filtered water on request - byo container. Free firewood - but all fires are subject to current fire restrictions. Plenty of tracks and bush walks. Suitable for horse riding - and can accommodate horses subject to prior approval. One well behaved pet dog allowed per site. We may be able to relax that rule but that is subject to prior approval. Quiet and respectful campers only, no parties. Check in after noon,  check out before noon. Ask if you need extensions either end.

This farm has beautiful open forests on all sides. It's good for stargazing as no artificial lighting for miles. As soon as you enter the property you can feel the forest calling you. Majestic white trunks and a soaring canopy. Both the road in and the driveway are smooth and free of corrugations or potholes making it accessible to all vehicles. It's easy to find even after dark. The gate is huge, a b-double could pass through it. I was greeted on arrival by three horses and a herd of cows. The sweetest and most welcome arrival ever. The cows were bemused by my efforts to pitch a tarp. While the property is golden with dried grassed presently it is still beautiful and worth a visit. I'm the Forrest I found fairy wrens., Black cockatoos visited daily and herons and egrets graced the dam. In the morning mist settles in the low areas creating a lovely scene. Lorraine popped in to check on me during my stay which was lovely. There is plenty of firewood onsite although you will need an axe or saw to make use of it. Most of it are dropped limbs from the trees. Right now there are fire bans. The camp is expansive enabling all campers plenty of space even if fully booked out. At the moment the ground is exceptionally dry as they have had no rainfall for months. Not a problem if you have an RV but if you are pitching anything with lots of guy ropes you will need special pegs and a lot of muscle. The big orange pegs from Bunnings work well here. Swag campers will be fine.
