Hidden Terrace
Hidden Terrace is an amazing camping ground surrounded by trees and mountain views, plus with all the amenities you need provided by Ian. Perfect for a tent or a campervan with easy access from the driveway and perfectly tucked away for peace and quiet. Highly recommend adding the Hot Spa and Star gazing at night for a wind down. Ian is exceptional in his hospitality and his love for the land and is shown through the care for the campsites.

Had an amazing time! It was my dog’s first camp but Ian and Lana made the experience so worthwhile :) Lana was definitely a highlight, made quick friends with my own pup and was a calming presence throughout!!

Dugout terace
Great spot to immerse into the sub tropical rainforest under the Illawarra escarpment. We stayed for a long weekend with our 6 y.o, and pup Frankie. Rustic but comfortable, the fire pit kept us warm, while the walks to the creek and waterfall were a highlight.
Ian is a welcoming and hospitable host, definitely recommend this spot for a bit of off grid forest bathing within easy drive of Sydney. The freshly baked bread was a treat, thanks Ian!

Great camp site. Ian and Lana were great hosts always available for anything needed during your stay. Nice property just a short drive out of Sydney and our dogs had a great time. Nice views from a few vantage points on the property all just a short hike.

The Bell tent was exactly what we were looking for, a night escape. We had a pizza and some Pinot Gris on the deck before heading back and lighting the fire - will be back!

We loved camping at the Dwayne! There was plenty of space for our tent, and to hang out near the fire. The trees protected us from the wind. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Suitable for people with good mobility as there is a bit of a walk through rocky terain to get to your vehicle. We got to meet Lana the 2yr old doggy who was so super friendly with our Staffy! Ian was so helpful and quickly replied to any of our queries. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful night away from Sydney!

We loved our stay at the Higher Terrace site at Mellows Ridge. Although we arrived after dark, Ian greeted us at the entrance with a warm welcome and everything we might’ve forgotten. He offered us a mallet to help pitch our tent and provided a lighter and firestarter to help us with our Firewood Add-On (as we promptly forgot to bring them). You get a bucket of firewood, which is enough for about 2 nights, burning about 6 to 7 hrs each night, and perfect for a chilly May night. It got down to 9 degrees overnight, so if you're coming in mid-May, pack some warm nightwear!
The map at the entrance was clear and easy to follow, and we spent a lovely time exploring the trails. A special shoutout to Lana, Ian’s stunningly photogenic and incredibly friendly dog, who took it upon herself to guide us through the Waterfall track, Higher Creek, and the Home Loop path. She’d pop out of nowhere to lead us through the forest like a four-legged tour guide, and she even seemed to know how to pose for the perfect photo!
The portaloo was spotless, and the raised decking at the campsite made it easy to keep our bags and gear off the ground and dirt-free.
There were three of us (plus one feisty little dog) and two vehicles, and we fit comfortably on the Higher Terrace site. It was peaceful, spacious, and a really memorable experience overall.
We had a great time! Thank you for your lovely hospitality, Ian.

Tree Fern Terrace
Such a great campsite and a brilliant host! Tree fern terrace is so nice and secluded, surrounded by beautiful trees and bird sounds! Highlights of the site are getting to stargaze from the spa and visits from Lana. Ian is super helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Couldn’t recommend this spot more!!

Great property that both feels remote and is well located to access the sites around the area. Ian is a great host and ha has set up the property to deal with varied needs. I would suggest a 4WD is needed to reliably access most sites. Love that dogs can be off leash.

The Bell Tent was amazing! We enjoyed every single minute of it and the hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. The pizza was very delicious and sitting by the firepit drinking our complementary beers kept us warm on a cool night. The Bell Tent was also stacked with a power bank and Apple home pod which kept us entertained. Overall, we would highly recommend!

We had the absolute best time!! I went with my partner for a night as a getaway from busy Sydney and this hipcamp exceeded our expectations. Ian is so hospitable, so much so that he even gave us a backpack and a lunchbox to go hiking with. He was constantly going out of his way to ensure we had the best possible experience. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Hidden Terrace and it truly lived up to its name – a hidden gem surrounded by pure nature and total privacy. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had our own little sanctuary, tucked away from the world with nothing but trees, sky, and peace around us.
What made it even more special was Lana – the beautiful resident dog and our furry guide during the stay. She was so gentle and friendly with our two dogs. One of ours is usually quite reactive and barky, but he surprised us by feeling confident and relaxed around Lana. It was heartwarming to watch him explore freely, without fear, in such a safe and open space.
The property felt incredibly secure – no snakes or unexpected wildlife, which gave us total peace of mind. Our dogs roamed happily, and we got to truly unwind.
We brought our small teardrop trailer and it was all we needed to feel connected to nature. The outdoor setup is simple but perfect – water, electricity, and even a spa under the stars. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, breathe deeper, and feel truly alive.
Thank you for creating such a private and peaceful escape. We’ll absolutely be back.

Loved Ian’s jungle compound and he was a very gracious host. Note to any future bike-packers: you probably want to seek shelter elsewhere as the approach here is quite steep. Remember no one is keeping score for how much suffering you put yourself through on your journey. ;)

We loved staying at Upper Terrace at Mellows Ridge. Ian has been really nice and helpful sharing recommendations to do in the area. We definitely recommend doing the 40 min hike to the top of the rocky ridge. We had no rain to driving uphill was easy but it can be challenging if visiting with rainy weather.
