Surrounded with the escarpments, creek and waterfall in the forest. It was raining in the night, Lovely doggie keep my company. Very touching. Ian was kind and helpful owner- highly recommend!

We stayed at this campground a few days ago, and sadly, it was a frustrating experience. First, the host changed the price of firewood after we arrived, adding more than originally stated. Then, almost everything came with an extra charge showers, the jacuzzi, and even a small extension of our stay by less than an hour cost us another $10. On top of that, we were charged twice for bin collection when we only used one. The view was extremely underwhelming. Trees blocked any scenery, so whether you were on higher ground or lower, it was the same closed-in feeling. The toilet situation was even worse it was a portable toilet, and it was not cleaned before we arrived. The previous guests’ waste hadn’t been emptied, making it unusable until that was addressed. When we needed ice, the host initially promised it but later said the machine was broken. Instead, he gave us a small fridge with two batteries that barely lasted an hour. Overall, the host gave off a vibe that everything had a price. Instead of hospitality, it felt like a constant sales pitch. If you value a friendly atmosphere and cleanliness, I strongly advise skipping this place. It left us with a negative experience we wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Tree Fern Terrace - total privacy

We stayed at this campsite for 2 nights and honestly, it was a very disappointing experience. The ground condition was really bad, and definitely not worth the $400 we paid — even $100 for this place would be too much. The toilet situation was unacceptable. They had a portable toilet that hadn’t been emptied. After about an hour, the owner came and replaced it, but no one came again to empty it afterwards. We had to drive into town just to use proper bathroom facilities. Everything came with extra charges. When we asked to use the shower, we were told it would cost $8, and the “shower” was just a single exposed unit with no walls or proper cabin. Even for rubbish, they charged extra — we were only allowed to dispose of two garbage bags, and because we had three, they charged us an additional $10. On top of all this, the owner’s behaviour was not friendly or respectful. It honestly felt like they were trying to take advantage of us and charge for everything possible. I will definitely not come back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

I recently spent 10 nights at this fantastic campsite that perfectly balances getting back to nature with the comfort of modern amenities. The site offers powered spots, a hot shower, and even a spa, making it easy to enjoy the outdoors without giving up sone of life’s little luxuries. Shops and the local pub are only a convenient 15-minute drive away, but once you’re at the camp, it feels like a peaceful escape. Don’t miss out on the host-made pizzas, they are absolutely delicious! Ian, the host, was fantastic, and his dog Lana is a total cutie who adds to the welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit to this campsite and will definitely be returning.

I can’t get enough of this place! It’s such a quick and easy escape into nature. Private and tranquil, plenty of bush walks, hot tub looking out over the valley at sunset, and a campfire under the stars.

Ian has a wonderful setup. We enjoyed a family trip complete with bushwalking, marshmallows toasted on campfires, chicken feeding and an all round adventure. Loved the extra nice touches - fresh baked bread in the morning and a drone photo of our group. Highly recommend!

What a lovely camping spot! Stayed on the Dugout Terrace which had amazing valley views. Loved all the additional add-on's Ian provides, including delicious woodfire pizza and the outdoor spa. Plus his dog Lana is the absolute cutest and stayed with us the entire time. Would highly recommend

Cedar Loggers Camp - very private

Incredible start to finish. Ian is lovely and the dog Lana too. The site is packed with facilities, the views are amazing, there's heaps of activities to do on the property. I'd definitely go back here. Watch out for leeches!

Mellows Ridge is an amazing place to camp, back to nature at its best and Ian is a wonderful host, always shows you to your camp site and makes sure everything is ok. It’s our second trip there and we will be back again

Waratah Corner - escarpment views

Pros and cons for us, but ultimately just not the type of camping experience we were expecting when we ventured away from the hustle bustle of national park sites. Pros: beautiful rainforest, nice host Cons: sloped site, not an escape from large noisy groups partying into the night, expensive extras. We thought we were paying for a slice of tranquility but that’s not the experience we had. I’m sure others have had that, but it’s just not a guarantee, which was our case unfortunately, so we wouldn’t go back for that reason alone. Could may well tick other people’s boxes for a good camping trip, just not ours.

Secluded camping, spectacular view

Amazing views from the secluded camping spots in the hills. The first couple of spots accessible by my little 2WD city car, but would need a 4WD or be willing to walk for others. Ian was very helpful and his dog Lana is very friendly. Fire pit and chemical toilet at each spot. Optional extras such as a beautiful open shower (or hot spa) with a view or a coffee or gourmet chicken sandwich brought to you in the morning. Quite pricey but very special - I’d stay again!

Ian, the host was incredibly helpful, and his dog Lana was adorable, she slept outside our tent the whole night and didn’t bother us while we slept, the view was incredible with much lush greenery, it was super clean and we encountered no leeches, only a few little jumping spiders! The driveway was difficult, but other sites are more accessible, however our tiny car was able to make it despite the rough terrain. Definitely recommend taking a look if you like waking up to stunning views and a remote, private location.

Wonderful camping spot and Ian could not do enough for us. Drinking a fresh cup of tea first thing in the morning listening to all the bird song at Mellows Ridge is awesome. Expect to be back soon.

Tucked away in the rainforest

A wonderful spot, tucked away in the rainforest. The views were beautiful. It’s a perfect place to stay with a dog, with loads of privacy and a real sense of calm. Ian was incredibly helpful and communicated clearly and generously before and during our stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

Wow what a stunning property, So much love and care has been put into this place. A peaceful forest retreat, not far from the beautiful Sapphire coast. Very private campsites, with stunning views. Amazing Hosts! We were very Lucky to share Pizza on our first night! (I highly recommend doing this.) On our second night we had a spa and watched the sunset. Another bonus is the outdoor shower with breathtaking views! Ours dogs had the most amazing time and quickly made friends with Luna. We hope to visit again. Julia, Hil, Milo and Maple. :)

It was our first time camping and we honestly had the best experience. The host was incredibly nice, friendly, and very informative, while still giving us complete privacy throughout our stay. The highlight of our trip was Lana (the host’s dog) — she was the sweetest, so friendly, ans stayed with us most of the time which made the experience even more special. We were short on time so couldn’t do the trail on this visit, but we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place to anyone planning a camping trip!

Ian was a fantastic host and made the campsite super comfortable. Lots of little trails to wonder through and a variety of birds to watch. Super nice escarpment and very peaceful. Ian was super knowledgeable and helpful and has put in a lot of work to make it a great place to camp! Thank you for having Nero and I - we hope to come back next time we are heading down south.

Dog friendly camping close to Wollongong and Sydney. Very friendly owners and resident dog/tour guide Lana. The property has walking tracks, lookouts and waterfalls. Bush camping with supplied porta-potty and the option to pay for a shower or spa. Highly recommend the pizza - very good quality.
