McKenzies Mountain is run by a sixth generation pioneer family, and boasts a kilometer of river frontage, four kilometers interspersed with waterfalls and rockpools, over a hundred acres of pristine rainforest, and a 2000 ft elevation mountain peak. Plus it's home to 125 head of cattle. It's simply a magical country camping spot. There is plenty to do, including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and crystal fossicking. Just next door, within walking distance, is the Hare Krishna farm, where they run Hare Krishna farm tours, workshops, and Yoga retreats. Paddock Camping
5 star rating! highly recommended
I recently had the most magical stay at McKenzie's Mountain , and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, I was completely enchanted by the stunning natural surroundings. The paddock was an an escape from the chaos of everyday life. One of the highlights was the serene river that winds gracefully nearby— i had turtles swimming beside me and crystals under my feet! It was absolutely breathtaking! Waking up to the gentle sounds of flowing water and birdsong felt like something out of a dream. The host James was incredibly warm and welcoming, making the entire experience even more special. His friendly nature, attention to detail and genuine hospitality created such a peaceful, safe and positive vibe throughout my stay. If you're looking for a tranquil getaway with epic scenery, great vibes, and a host who truly cares, this is the place for you. I can't wait to come back!

Paddock Camping
Exactly as it’s listed. Great setup super close to Murwillumbah but also feels completely out in the bush. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cheaper holiday option or for a chill out week of camping
