We loved our stay at MaMiKa Beef! Max and Karen were very friendly and accommodating, our site was very private and away from everyone with great views of the Bucketts! We will definitely be back

Hosts were very lovely people. Property just wasn’t what we expected. Admittedly it did rain quite a bit, however the ground underfoot is not really suitable in the cooler months or wet weather as there is no grass therefore a little rain or dampness quickly turns to a muddy mess (see pics). The site was clover and dirt. The clover was also quite long so not great for our small dog. The site ended up so muddy that we went home a day early. All other sites we passed looked the same. It’s a bit expensive for what you get. Again the hosts were really lovely people.

MaMiKa Beef Site 4

Beautiful peaceful setting just minutes to town. Max and Karen were Fantastic hosts. They gave us a warm welcome and an insight to the local food and sight attractions. Will definitely be back again. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful property.

Our site was ok but probably not the best spot after recent wet weather. Site was damp and covered by a lot of trees so drying out would take a while. Can see how it would be nice during the warmer months being so close to running water but wasn’t for us this time.

Karen and Max are very gracious hosts. Our spot was private from the other campsites but had a close view of the river which we could walk back around to get down to (or brave the electric fence) to share with other campers or, occasionally, locals who has brought their utes down for some fun. Being in the next campsite down the river would have been a more consistently tranquil experience.

Max and Karen were so welcoming and accommodating, their property was beautiful and the camp site was nice and secluded. We loved getting a visit from the curious cows as the sun rose. We will definitely be back ☺️

MaMika was a great spot to camp with plenty of serenity. A beautiful part of our country. Camp sites were all very nice and spaced out, with views of the adjacent mountains, paddocks and cattle with ours overlooking the Gloucester River. Was lovely to meet Max who took us to our site. Communication with Karen was awesome. Would recommend.

Quiet camp near a lovely river

We had a fantastic stay at Mamika. Max and Karen were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to welcome us and help us to enjoy our stay. We stayed on site 2 which was huge with a great view of the farm and mountains. We got our 22 foot caravan in with no problems at all. The river was great for a great for a fish and a swim. There were people at the other sites but with so much space between sites, you wouldn't even know they were there. We've already booked our next stay :)

Wonderful views & hosts

Absolutely loved my stay at MaMiKa. I only have positive things to say, as a first time hipcamper. Max & Karen were great hosts, I especially appreciated being checked in on as a solo camper. The creek was a short walk away for a cool down. Endless beautiful views seen from every aspect of the property, great for photography. Perfect private camp sites with ample space, great for stunning star gazing at night. I loved the farm tour guided by Max and his family, a must if you stay here to truly appreciate the workings of a beef farm. Can't wait to stay again soon, 5 star!!

Best Farm Stay in Gloucester

The offgrid camping experience was fantastic. Wonderful site that was secluded yet close to everything. Wonderful views to the river and across the property. Karen and Max were fabulous hosts who are passionate about their property and animals. Bentley is a gentle giant 🐂 The farm tour is a definite must! Definitely going to one of our regular destinations.

An exclusive private site which saw us tow a camp trailer within a stones throw of the river. The sites are well maintained and the owners (Max & Karen) were very accomodating and friendly. The town of Gloucester is also quite close for anything you may need. Barrington tops is also within easy driving distance. This camp sight will not disappoint. Highly recommended. We will be back to this excellent spot. great experience.

We had a wonderful 5 days at MaMika and would highly recommend. It had been raining a lot before we went, so when we arrived Max showed us to a spot that was a bit higher up. We had an amazing view of the mountains. It was so beautiful sitting around with all that land around us and watching the cows. We got way too much rain but it didn’t stop us enjoying our trip. Karen and Max are wonderful hosts and very helpful .After all the rain we weren’t able to get our vans out but Max happily came to the rescue with his tractor and pulled our friends and our vans out. We will definitely go back there again. Thanks so much Karen and Max for sharing your lovely property for others to enjoy.

We had an excellent time at Karen & Max’s property! They were so welcoming and accomodating at all times! We woke up to stunning views of the The Buckets, and enjoyed four days of tranquility. Only a few minutes drive to town, we couldn’t recommend this hipcamp more and will be back!!

We had a fabulous long weekend at MaMika Herefords site. The site was quiet and secluded with a lovely view across the river. Karen was really responsive and we appreciated being able to check in early and leave at our leisure. It's a beautiful area to spend a few days and the site was nice and close to town.

Site 3 was beautiful. Great access to water and protection from sun and rain when sheltered under the trees. Great views of the mountains and black stary nights. Very peaceful just cows passing in the paddocks.

We could not make it because of the weather. The site was soggy and then the owners were away which was all OK. The only thing that was disappointing is we not offered a discount or refund. I have to say the communication was great and I an sure the property is lovely as it is well placed.

Loved our stay @ MaMiKa farm! We camped right on the riverside on site 3 which was the perfect location. Private & peaceful area with no other campers in sight. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking & a bit of fishing. Also enjoyed our camp fire at night. Our hosts Max, Karen & Mikayla were very friendly, helpful & welcoming. Will definitely return! Hopefully soon!

Who would have thought you could have absolute peace and quiet, in a beautiful setting, with amazing views and wonderful hosts, on the Easter Long Weekend! The seclusion, whilst at the same time being so close to town, was a bonus. The booking and directions all went seamlessly, thank you so much Karen and Max!

We were lucky enough to stay on site 1 at Karen and Max's property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to another visit. Max and his daughter showed us to our site and pointed other sites on the property. There are only 3 sites altogether and we couldn't see or hear anyone else from our site, a fantastic place to get away from the crowds on a long weekend. Max gave us some tips about the local markets and a delicious pastry shop in Gloucester, which was delicious. The site area we had was massive and we chose to camp along the fence line so we could hear the river flowing. It was only a short walk down to the river, which was crystal clear. It was the perfect temperature for a swim. If you walk down through the river from the entry area you find some lovely deep swimming areas. Such a lovley spot and only a few minutes into Gloucester to explore the shops. We also took the opportunity to explore Barrington Tops, which is conveniently located for a day trip. The property really has everything you could ask for without all the crowds. Thanks again Karen and Max for allowing us to stay.

MaMiKa was amazing. A beautiful private campsite near the creek, with a backdrop of the mountains. Max and Karen were two of the most genuine, warm and welcoming hosts we have met. Our kids loved the farm and feeding the cows. Super convenient location, easy access, private and secluded. The creek swim was beautiful too. Highly recommended staying here!

Karen and Max so helpful and quick with communication. Their property is so beautiful and on the creek that is perfect for summer days. Private camp area that is really big, we had campsite number 3, ripper of a site! Recommend this property 100% and so close to town! Because of where the sites are Max guided us around the property and made sure our site was mowed, accessible, and was there for any other questions if needed. Love to camp there again !
