Maiden Jewel offers campers a vast and picturesque landscape with plenty of space and seclusion. Guests frequently mention the breathtaking views and diverse camping spots, ranging from hills to waterholes, providing a sense of being miles away from everything. Hosts Jane and Malcolm are consistently praised for their welcoming nature and helpfulness, ensuring campers find the perfect spot and have a memorable stay. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, it's worth noting that a few visitors mentioned the dams being low, but this didn't detract from their overall enjoyment.
Mal was a great host and took us to a secluded camp site with amazing views of the cliffs and a massive wild olive tree. It felt like you were all by yourself and a million miles away from everything. Mal advised the water in the dams was low but we didn't mind as we were out exploring each day. The campsites are huge and the cows are friendly, we took a little dog who didn't like the cows when they walked through the campsite but the cows were unfazed by her and moved through quickly. I would stay here again when I'm up that way.
Enormous campground with so many options available to families and groups, really welcoming and hospitable hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with many adventure to explore in an around Wingen
