Welcome to Lyrebirds Nest, a quiet bush escape. Lyrebirds Nest cottage is situated in the bush with forest views from the balcony and rooms. The cottage is setup for glamping with an wood stove, queen bed (BYO linen), sofa, electricity, filtered water (hot and cold), hot indoor shower and composting toilet. A bar fridge and microwave is also provided. The open fire is not to be used. The surrounding land on the property includes a lake with jetty, sauna, olive grove, orchard and chicken coup. There are great hikes on the property or you can follow the creek and continue into the State Forest. There is plenty of wildlife to see, a bird lovers paradise with plenty of Lyrebirds, king parrots, black cockatoos to name a few. You're welcome to stay in the cottage or camp by the lake. We really enjoyed our stay - everything was straight forward and as described/explained. The cottage outlook was lovely and the sauna was a real treat. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Cozy cabin get away

Beautiful cabin in a lovely secluded spot! Ash and his partner were very attentive hosts and great with communication. So nice to wake up to the sound of birds in the morning and sit out on the veranda. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful spot with the most amazing view from the cabin. Lots of birds to watch. Lovely rustic cabin with warming fire. Our dog loved swimming in the billabong by the sauna. Ash was very responsive, couldn’t have asked for more.

Amazing spot! Sauna was amazing and the cabin is so sweet and romantic. We extended our stay because we loved it so much. Will definitely be coming back. And our doggo loved it! Gorgeous!

Beautiful Log Cabin in Nature

Lyrebirds Nest Cottage
I stayed with my partner and 2 dogs. The log cabin was wonderful, has all the amenities you need surrounded by nature. Loved waking up and sitting outside on the deck with a coffee with the view of the trees. It was so peaceful! Ash and Ellie were the perfect hosts and made sure we were comfortable!

Really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The wood heater was extremely welcome on the cold nights. It was great to have a bit of a tour of Ash’s farm and animals.

Such a beautiful cabin and gorgeous property! Thanks Ash for having us, it was just what we wanted. We fell in love with the sheep and goats and the sauna was such a luxe addition to our little adventure. It was really windy so we didn't make use of the outdoor fire pits but they looked like a great set up too. Can't wait to come back.

We had a great stay in the beautiful bush cabin of Ash & Ellie! It was truly special to fully enjoy their property with our young family, as well as exploring the surrounding areas. For us it was the perfect way to celebrate our birthdays with a cosy winter getaway! Thanks so much, we will highly recommend it to everyone!

Hosts were wonderful and very helpful- great place for getting away and enjoying nature. Would recommend if you want a break for a couple of days that is not too far from the city.

Absolutely loved this place! Ash the host is so welcoming upon arrival and departure. Such a good getaway cabin located amongst the forest trees. The view from the cabin is all trees, waking up to the sounds of birds and wind rustling the leaves was bliss. The fireplace we kept going the whole time to keep warm which gave the place a very cosy feel. The firepit outside was such a winner for roasting & toasting. Not hearing anything other than the sounds of nature was a good hard reset to the mind & body. Kids loved it, with the assistance of fast wifi. Definitely worth coming back to.

Incredible location; looking out from the balcony into a gully. A dip in the dam with a sauna after. Ash and Ellie were friendly, accomodating and always there to help.

The place is outstanding! Despite spending the rainiest weekend there, we thoroughly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the beautiful surrounding forest. The sauna added a wonderful touch, enhancing our experience. We used the outdoor fireplace near the sauna to cook a barbecue and enjoyed mulled wine, making it a fantastic weekend with friends. Ash was very friendly and helpful, assisting us with everything we needed. Highly recommend!!!"

Thank you Ash for an incredible stay. I can’t recommend this place highly enough to those looking for a cosy, rustic and memorable experience in nature. Set in a beautiful and serene wood, deep amongst the gum trees, and overlooking a babbling stream - you feel like you’re a million miles away. Dead silent at night, apart from the rain stops on the roof and the crackling fire, this was the perfect autumn get away. The cabin is simple, but is clean and tidy and has everything you need. We used the fire pit in the field and enjoyed sitting around the fire, in disturbed - just with a few sheep and kangaroos for company. In the morning we used the sauna, which worked well and left us feeling, refreshed and clean! Different to the end of most camping trips! You really have the feeling that you have the whole place to yourself, and can use so many features on the property. I’d recommend to anyone who wants to nature bathe, with the the comfort of a cabin, a warm fire and total peace and quiet. Cheers!

Lovely cabin in the bush on a farmstead, at a peaceful spot almost exactly halfway between Canberra and Sydney. Has all of the amenities that you would expect, and easy to find with clear directions. Friendly and responsive host. Nice spot on the balcony to watch burns and just enjoy the scenery, and several options for having a fire as well as a sauna. Only minor comment is that a "mud map" that shows where the olive grove, sauna, fire pit, etc are located would be useful. But the video of how to get there was very helpful for getting to the right spot for the cabin! Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Tranquility at its best 🍃

I loved the serenity and tranquility of being nestled in the bush amongst the trees! The cottage is basic but has everything you need and plays the perfect part to the experience. the fire pit in the olive grove was an amazing addition whilst sitting under the plethora of stars, we even saw the Milky Way! The pond and grounds to getting to the sauna need some maintenance but it did not deter us from the beauty or our appreciation of the property. I brought my bestie here for a getaway before they get married in a weeks time. Ash has fantastic communication and is always available for information or to lend you a hand. Would not hesitate to come back or recommend to anyone looking for an authentic cabin stay in the heart of Australian nature ❤️

Beautiful setting with bushland and paddocks. Loved feeding the resident sheep & Goats. Log cabin on tree tops was super peaceful. Open space with 2 ends. One bed, fire & lounge easily to sleep on. Bring own linen. No curtains so open window to trees Other end had a functioning kitchenette with dining table & chairs. Seperate shower & compost toilet. Brought out own water in. The lake & sauna looked inviting & tried we went to get in. Safest place was from the side as wharf & pool ladder need fixing. Cooled off but you need a good scrubbing afterwards. We had a relaxing time here, would like to see maybe a reduced rate for smaller numbers. We were 2 people.

Charming cottage in forest
Lyrebirds Nest Cottage
This stay was simply magical. Staying in a charming cottage in the forest with tree top views and friendly animals was just the getaway me and my two besties were looking for. Ash the host was very kind and we were very thankful for the tour of the property prior to offloading our gear from the car as there was a lot to explore including a sauna next to a natural hot spring. We felt like we were in the wilderness, not too far out of Sydney. We will be back. This place has something for everyone.
