Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet.  Dogs permitted (see rules).

Karoola Riverbend
We camped on a perfectly level area on the banks of the Murrumbidgee river; what's not to love. We would like to thank Sheryl and James for a very enjoyable and peaceful stay on their property. Directions to the site were easy to understand with easy access to the camp area, which is well prepared for tents or campers.

A relaxing peaceful place.
A peaceful and relaxing week long stay at Karoola Lagoon. We had a spot by the river with a small sandy beach to access the river. We caught fish each day more carp than any other fish, however did manage to catch and release x4 Murray Cod. The views waking up the hill both day and night had amazing views of the surrounding properties and star filled nights. There were visits from the sheep and cows which was lovely of an evening. Thanks for sharing your lovely property.

Perfect riverfront camping, plenty of shade trees over level grassed sites. Pick the right spot for easy access to the river for canoes or tinnies. The road to the property entrance is sealed and quiet, ideal for the cyclist looking for some time on the pedals.

Float from Gundagai lol
A nice spot along the river. Did a river float from Gundagai, took 7 hours!! The camp was tidy except for 1 dead sheep but that kept other campers away. I am sure if we told them, they would have taken it away as they were nice. Easy access in, maintained roads in. Flat ground to set up your camp. Thank you for having us on your beautiful property.
