'MOD VE LA' is one of the privately owned caravan cabins in the amazing River Island Nature Retreat Village. It is a caravan plus large annex and deck providing spacious inside and outside areas to relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located next to Reddy Creek and the bush reserve, this rustic cabin has its own fully kitchen with gas stove/oven, lounge area with fold our bed, separate bedroom nook with comfy queen bed and external undercover dining and extra cooking area This cosy cabin has a full kitchen, lounge and sleeping nook plus large, covered deck. The cabin DOES NOT have its own toilet but does have an outside hot water shower. Guests are welcome to use the park's modern and clean communal shower and toilet facilities located nearby and open 24/7. Linen in NOT provided so you will need to bring your own sheets / sleeping bags / donnas etc, but the main bed has a mattress protector. Linen hire is available from reception at $30 per set ( queen size bed ) This cabin is managed by K2 River Island which means you have access and use of the parks' pools and games area. There is on onsite shop that sells basic essentials such as bread / milk etc so we recommend to arrange and BYO food and drinks !

Inside Villa De Wit, you'll find a comfy queen bed with fresh linen, a sofa bed for extra guests, and a full working kitchen so you can whip up your favourite meals. Just 10 metres from your door, shared hot and cold showers and toilets are ready when you need them. After a day of exploring, unwind in the lounge or step out onto your verandah with a BBQ- perfect for coffee at sunrise, a lazy afternoon read, or a relaxed dinner under the stars. Villa De Wit is amongst a number of cabins on a stunning 2000-acre property with the Wollondilly River flowing through it, offering plenty of 4WD opportunities to cross the river and discover all this beautiful land has to offer. We also have access to Wollondilly River Nature Reserve right on our doorstep, with some wonderful cascades and walking trails to explore. Plus, a plethora of wineries are only a short drive away, perfect for wine lovers looking to sample local flavours.

Beautiful, and lots to do. Facilities clean and well maintained. Tons of wildlife to see right onsite. An extra huge thank you to Manuel who went above and beyond, helped us get our camper trailer in and out of the valley. We loved it and will definitely be back.

Friendly and welcoming staff, and a lovely campsite right next to the river with kangaroos around. Since the sites are not marked, it can get quite crowded and close to neighbouring tents during peak season. Still, it’s a beautiful spot and a great place by the water.

Great camping site by the river. The kids enjoyed the pool, and walking through the national park to platypus beach was an easy hike. The road in is challenging but not impossible for 2WD cars - we made it in an old sedan, but a 4WD or SUV would handle the drive a bit easier. K2 is a great place to switch off from the outside world - literally - there is no mobile signal. But a free phone is available. I would definitely consider staying here again

Great campground once you're there, host is great and very friendly. we enjoyed our time. However rough 3km 4wd road in. Some really steep tight corners in sections Personally we wouldn't recommend for towing vans over 20ft

K2 River Island Nature Retreat was a beautiful location that really did feel miles away from everyday life. A long and rough 4WD track leads into the campsite. We camped on the unpowered sites along the river which would have been beautiful except it was so, so busy (Easter long weekend) and had loud partygoers which took away from the peaceful environment I'm sure it usually is. Toilets were close by but showers were a bit of a hike.

We had a great camping experience through our own efforts, but unfortunately, the toilets near the unpowered area were in very poor condition overall. Since the other toilets were an 8-10 minute walk away, we had to constantly drive back and forth just to use the restroom. Additionally, in the evenings, the toilet paper and hand soap would run out. Within the campsite, 1-2 spots need road repairs, as the uneven terrain causes vehicles or trailers to scrape against the ground. At the swimming pool area, despite a sign clearly stating that alcohol consumption in the spa is prohibited, some people were drinking alcoholic beverages there with their children, and no one enforced the rule. Although signs everywhere said campfires were prohibited, we saw people making campfires, and we couldn't really understand why this rule existed in the first place. Lastly, the faucets in the campsite did not have any warnings stating that the water was not drinkable, but the water was very murky and clearly unsafe to drink.

Very good service, despite being over booked, they were happy to accommodate and sort out the situation, also ran a flat battery and they also help with the jump and balancing check-ins. Friendly campers who was also willing to help and the retreat was also a nice get away.

Name says it all. Beautiful site , so much to explore but unfortunately we weren’t there long enough. We will definitely be going back! Very friendly and welcoming. The treck to it was a mission in an RV but we managed it and it was an adventure! Middle of nowhere so make sure your stocked up beforehand. Great facility’s ,lovely pool area. Lots of wildlife around . Can’t wait to come back and explore more.

Site was by the riverside and it had beautiful views. Kangaroos were herding between tents. Pool and spa were there along with nice showers. Facilities were very clean to use. In general the place was peaceful and great place to stay.

Our first time camping at K2 Island nature reserve. The area where we setup our tent was beautiful and quiet by the river. The hosts were very helpful and we had a wonderful stay. Although some parts of the road to get there was unsealed, we did managed to get there and back with my Holden Cruze unscathed. Just thankful it wasn’t raining at the time otherwise I think we would have run into trouble without a 4WD. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Fantastic location with plenty of space. Lots to do at the main reception and also further up the river there is some fun four wheel driving tracks and cascades which we floated back down on with inflatables. The host was exceptionally friendly, always ready to assist, and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. We will definitely be back.

A great weekend away in a beautiful campsite along the Wollondilly River with mountains and wildlife all around. We went for a hike in the national Park walking distance away from our campsite and swam in the river. The pool and spa are lovely as well. Family friendly location.
