The very kind host , Karen is a beautiful free spirit & so so accommodating.
My wife & I stayed in the very comfy room at the end of Karen's private residence where we had our own newly renovated bathroom with soft white towels, soaps , shampoo etc...which was fabulous....also freshly cut gardenias on beside was a very nice touch.
Access to the camp kitchen with full facilities & a living area/rec room was briiliant & sure makes for a great stay.
Karen's surrounding garden was really beautiful...a long chat hanging over the front rail during our garden tour with Karen was delightful.
Six campsites are available surrounding the ex- fish farm dams where Karen's horses & alpaca roam freely...
Jalum is super relaxing...just up the road from Mooball where you'll find a beaut pub , Moo Moo Roadhouse for fabulous food , drinks & souvenirs
Also popular there at Mooball is the rail trail with E bikes for hire.
We enjoyed a gorgeous country drive with lush green hills crossing the NSW/QLD border from Murwillumbah through to Nerang...the amazing Beechmont Tavern was packed with punters to be entertained by back to back bands for a fun Saturday arvo/night...
Lots to do in the area...even an old old railway tunnel to see on nearby Hulls Road to the Sth & just up the road to the Nth of Jalum on Pottsville Road is The Sleepy Barn where you can chill with a morning coffee or an evening cocktail along with delicious snacks/meals.

What a lovely site, I'd recommend it to everyone. The horses were a lovely treat and the provision of water and other amenities makes it an easy day out. The property is large enough so you could feel secluded but there are usually other campers nearby.

We loved camping at Jalum. Karen was very welcoming and she has a beautiful property. For us it was perfect as we don’t enjoy crowded camping. Her property is close to the ocean and the Mooball Rail trail. If you don’t like horses then it might not be the place for you as you camp in the paddock and the horses roam and stay in close proximity to you, but for us it was perfect. Being self sufficient works well at this venue, but Karen does offer a shower and toilet for campers to use. It is a bit of a walk up a hill to the facilities but most drive.
We will be back for another visit 😊

This is hands down the best camping spot we've ever stayed at! We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for 6 because we didn't want to leave!
The farm is so beautiful and peaceful, and Karen is amazing, so warm and welcoming and an absolute delight to chat with!
The property is stunning, located off a quiet road, with your pick of gorgeous campsites, lots of lovely trees and dams, and friendly horses who wander through your camp and even take a nap right next to you! The campsites are limited to ensure that you have a wonderfully quiet time, and the bathroom is absolutely beautiful with a lovely hot shower, and easily accessible.
We had a fire every night and counted the stars listening to the frog serenades from the dams, and woke up to beautiful sunrises and birdies chirping and made our camp coffee while the horses munched on grass all around us. You can walk around barefoot in comfort and everything is immaculately maintained.
This little piece of paradise is just outside of Mooball, and the location is amazing, the endless beach is a short drive away with barely anyone for miles, pop into Pottsville for a yummy brekkie, Byron Bay is an easy drive away, and do yourself a huge favour and do the drive from Murwillumbah through Numinbah to Nerang, it's absolutely spectacular. Also don't miss the gelato at Tweed Valley Whey, it's to die for!
We can't wait to come back and honestly we've never enjoyed a camping holiday as much as this one! Thank you so much Karen!

Had such a great time on the farm this weekend. Beautiful place. Peaceful and quiet. The animals are so friendly and check in at your camp now and then. Looking at the stars at night while sitting at the fire. Absolutely a place to visit again. Thank you Karen for sharing your beautiful place with us.

The view from the main house is great and the stars on a clear night are spectacular.
There are adequate facilities and the camp ground has a set limit to site numbers which is great.

Jalum was peaceful camping. Karen was very accommodating and informative. Having the animals was beautiful and we were able to pat some of the horses. I would recommend this place to others. A Great location that was close to the beaches and also the hinterland. Mooball Cafe was a great place for breakfast

Karen's land is spectacular, with lots of camping options and room to spread out. We chose a spot that the caravan could traverse easily and it made for a stunning sunset by the waters edge. The shared facilities are awesome and shelter would come in handy during unkind weather but we mostly stuck to our spot.

Thankyou for your hospitality Karen. We loved staying at Jalum. It was the perfect base to ride the rail trail and so nice to come back to our beautiful campsite on the dam in the afternoon. So relaxing, surrounded by the sounds and sights of birds and sharing the company of horses, ponies and if course the llama.

Peaceful vibes, friendly resident 4 legged hosts & super host Karen! Shhh, don't tell anybody this is a hidden gem, close to Mooball if you want to ride the Rail Trail, the pub is great, close to Pottsville & Tweed coast beaches. Set up, make a fire in your own private space, sit back & enjoy the serenity & the stars!! Highly recommend

We had the most magical stay at Karen’s beautiful farm in Jalum. She welcomed me, my husband, and our baby Link with such warmth and kindness. Her adorable dog Bunny and our pup Link became instant friends, sharing toys and running around the garden — such a joy to watch!
The farm is peaceful and spacious, with few water body perfect for kayaking and small hikes that lead to stunning sunset views. The accommodation is cozy, clean, and full of charm — decorated with art, plants, and lovely personal touches that made it feel like home.
Karen is a truly inspiring soul. She believes in self-sustainable living and generously shared fresh salad leaves, herbs, lemons,ginger, turmaric, lemonade, and her delicious gomashio. She even gifted me a pot of succulents to take home, which was so thoughtful.
We cooked chicken in her oven and relaxed by the fire pit with logs she kindly organized. Her creativity, gardens, and strong yet kind personality left a lasting impression.
Karen’s home is more than just a stay — it’s an experience full of heart and nature’s beauty. We left feeling refreshed and inspired. I can’t wait to return and bring my mum next time!

The place is beautiful. Karen was super attentive from the moment we arrived. Waking up to the horses and ponies in our tent was a plus! It's super close to town and a great option for a relaxing day! There are only four sites, and they're far from each other, so there's plenty of privacy! We'll definitely be back! The bathroom may be a bit far, but there's nothing better than a walk there!

Beautiful property and the location is excellent, you feel like you’re a million miles away but also just half an hour drive to beaches and quaint country towns. The horses roam free and are very friendly; the host, Karen, is lovely and welcoming and even shared some of her home grown produce with us, it was such a nice gesture. We went in with our 22ft van and found a nice flat spot alongside the smaller dam. Getting into the property is a little difficult as I had to get out and open the big wooden gate to get our van in as it wouldn’t fit through the smaller gate, it also meant that the traffic coming through had to stop and wait for us to get off the road, getting out again was similarly difficult but we got it done fairly quickly. I would definitely go back to this beautiful farm stay.

Awesome place to stay Karen is great, plenty of good camp sites to choose from around the dams, the horses roam free and often wonder past the camp and come over for a pat, plenty of little towns around the area to explore less then 5min drive to Mooball and burringbar which both have great Cafes and pubs to choose from, also a great spot to stay if you want to explore the rail trail. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property with different camp spots around the property , Karen was super lovely and gave a clear run down of the property lay out and amenities , the horses and alpacas were friendly to walk past and pat on your way to the toilet/shower block , The vibe is so calm and quite we camped by the pond with the ducks , the views here are unreal!
my favourite part was waking up to the horses bonus it is pet friendly here

Very Nice place, would definitely recommend. nice clean space with lots of room to camp and nice scenery, if you don’t like horses or horse poo this is definitely not the place for you!! only thing is that the shower and toilets are not really accessible by walking if your down the bottom of the site and have to drive back and forth to the bathroom, but other than that it is a really nice place and nice host.

We had an amazing stay! The beautiful gardens made the whole property feel peaceful and private. Our bedroom was super comfy and spotless with newly renovated bathroom, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved starting our mornings with coffee and breakfast at the cozy outdoor seating area, enjoying views of the mountains, dams and horses. Karen was very helpful with local tips and let us power our camper and fill our water tank, which made it easy to hit the off-road tracks again. Fresh flower arrangements and a basket of fruit and herbs from the garden were such a nice touch. Highly recommend — it was a perfect spot!
