Hillside is a 75 acre working orchard growing cherries, stonefruit, apples and pears. Amongst the rows of fruit trees is a small block of eucalypts and three dams, one of which is quite large and suitable for swimming, paddling and fishing in. Dawn and dusk brings a variety of birds and kangaroos and skies painted in colour. In summer and autumn you can pick your own fruit. In winter put on your coat and take a walk whilst breathing in the fresh, crisp air. In spring, buds burst open and all the trees are covered in beautiful blossoms. The orchard is in the heart of Cabonne Shire, the fruit bowl of Central West NSW. Orange is renowned for its wineries, restaurants and cafes. At our farm stall you can grab a coffee, light lunch and a great variety of local produce including fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey, olive oil and jams. Just minutes away, Mt Canobolas and Lake Canobolas offer great bushwalking and mountain biking and Borenore Caves is amazing for exploring. Or visit one of the many local wineries. Our neighbours at Orange Mountain Estate Wines are less then 100m walk from our camp sites. A visit with them is a perfect way to finish your day and then stroll back to camp. We accept caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes and tents to stay at our property. You must be fully self contained (except Site 1). All sites, except for Site 1, are located within the farm. This is not your average campground, and what makes it special is being able to camp in the orchard. Whilst we do our best not to disturb you, the site is in a working farm, with orchard work possible at all hours. Sites, whilst relatively flat have not been levelled and being in a paddock, can be uneven. There are no facilitates, and this includes toilets, access to water or electricity and lights.

Once camp is set, wonder around the orchard or down to the dam. The farm shop is at your doorstep to grab your morning coffee. Your senses will come alive with the chatter of the birds, the smell of the blossoms, the taste of fresh fruit straight from the tree and the stunning views of Mt Canobolas. This site has access to the toilets which are also shared by shop customers.

Orchard Site 2 is at the end of the apple rows set in the orchard with views of Mount Canobolas. It is just behind the Hillside Harvest shop. This is a dry site perfect for all weather conditions. There are no bathroom amenities here, guests will need to be self contained (this includes having your own toilet), take waste with them and leave no trace. Water and electricity are not included. These sites are flat, but not levelled and can be uneven. There is no lighting.

Orchard Site 3 is at the end of the apple rows set in the orchard with views of Mount Canobolas. It is just behind the Hillside Harvest shop. This is a dry site perfect for all weather conditions. Orchard Site 2 is located here too so great for people travelling in pairs. There are no bathroom amenities here, guests will need to be self contained (this includes having your own toilet), take waste with them and leave no trace. This site is recommended for caravans rather then tents. Water and electricity are not included. These sites are flat, but not levelled and can be uneven. There is no lighting.

Camp close to the dam and enjoy water views. This site is down the farm track and on uneven ground so levelling ramps will be required. The farm shop is a short walk to grab your morning coffee, fresh fruit and local produce. There are no ‘actual’ camp sites, only patches of grass and they are not clearly defined, levelled etc. we had to drive through and around the farm and then return to the office for help. The staff though are lovely.

We had a great time at Hillside Harvest. I got a lot of goodies from the onsite shop - Aussie road and chocolate chip cookies are a must! Peaceful site, with nice views. Would love to visit again!

Such a beautiful spot! We enjoyed walking around the Orchard and relaxing in the serenity. Great little shop with friendly staff at the front of the property too. Couldnt recommend it more! ❤️🍏

Spent a night in Paula’s orchard . What a fantastic spot we arrived and nipped next door to the Orange Mountain winery and picked up a bottle of wine The sunset was incredible, it made all the fruit trees glow The camp site was on grass and pretty level it was quiet . The toilets on site are clean . The shop is well stocked with goodies and lovely coffee Would recommend this site and we will return

A fantastic location on the outskirts of Orange. A beautiful orchard, easy to find, great coffee & lovely scenery. Was lovely and private and was able to pick fruit during our stay. Had a great shop with local produce. Would recommend if you’re heading toward Orange.

Loved the location and friendly staff in the shop. Gave us a better place to set up after we arrived. The little shop is wonderful with a wide selection of local produce. Highly recommended this Hipcamp.

Disappointed that we paid (extra) for a ‘flushing toilet’ yet I’ve seen pit toilets cleaner. And it’s not like the previous user left a mess. No. It’s like the owners haven’t seen fit to clean them in months (& there’s only two!) Do better, or just don’t advertise and charge for that filth.

We have had such an amazing experience sleeping next to this beautiful lake and watching the sunset was the best part. We also enjoyed heaps of nectarines and I picked some to take home :) Highly Recommend! Kind regards Jaime and Geeta

We booked site 1 and paid extra for the use of the toilet - total cost was $120 for three nights. However, on arrival there was no “site 1” and were guided to a paddock that was about 300metres from the toilet and was available to anyone who wished to use it? I did try and explain to the lady about our booking but it didn’t seem to matter - the paddock was where we had to camp. In the end we decided to leave. Very disappointing - not as described on the Hipcamp site.

What a great place to stay. Paula was a friendly host who made sure we were happy with the site. Farm store was amazing and the walk through the orchard with all the cherry trees in bloom was lovely.

Paula and the whole crew at Hillside Harvest are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet. The orchard is beautiful and the onsite cafe is a great bonus. All of the sites were easy to access in my little car. I originally booked for one night but ended up staying for 3. I will definitely be back :)

I enjoyed staying at Hillside Harvest for a few days while visiting Bathurst. It has a large spacious area to stay on beside the vines and orchard. Having the lovely cafe and farm shop nearby was very handy, you can also get ready made meals there, newspaper, as well as toasties, coffee and cakes.

Overall we had a great experience on a very beautiful property. The location is perfect for a family with the Borenore Caves close by and a fantastic family friendly winery (Heifer Station) just down the road. We opted to stay near the dam which was a lovely view. Unfortunately it's not level and even with our van on levelling ramps we were on quite a lean. In fineness we were told this may be an issue so not a complaint about the hosts, just a consideration if you choose to stay in the same place. Also were able to pick some apples from the trees which was an awesome extra.

We loved our 4 night stay at Hillside Harvest, Paula and her husband were very accommodating and their orchard is amazing! Our kids enjoyed the fruit picking and exploring the property. The coffee and produce from their shop was fantastic and only 10-15min drive to the main street of Orange & Lake Canobolas. We will defiantly be booking here again.

Place was absolutely gorgeous, clean facilities in walking distance and the food at the farm stall was excellent. Was perfect to walk through the orchards and try fruit from trees labelled as permissed for doing so. The dam was a lovely temperature and we enjoyed cooking off there on arrival. Would 100% come again if I ever find myself in the area. Sunsets were 10/10.

Beautiful location! Camping surrounded by a working orchard. This place truely has it all. There is an onsite cafe/store with a variety of local produce, including fruit from the orchard at a great price. You have the option to pick fruit yourself which is a great experience for kids. 😍 Next door is also winery. Highly recommend grabbing yourself a bottle and sitting by the dam with a picnic! Excellent value for money and would 10/10 recommend!
