The ultimate Farm Solitude Camping experience. If you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park. All sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves with open area's. There is an abundance of wildlife to see. All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after. Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only. 4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley, which has walking trail access to the Bow River. "Gully View Campsite" is the closest site to the property entrance. Great for overnight stays. It can be set up as a communal campground for larger groups. Guests are required to be fully self-contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. *Most Campsites now have toilets. Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, it may take a few hours for us to reply. We also do Vinyl, Canvas and Leather repairs during your stay in most cases. WARNING: There are many areas of cliff edges and shear drops! Children must be supervised at all times while exploring these areas. There are also dams at or near some of the campsite areas that could be dangerous if children wander off exploring alone.

Bow River Campsite
Perfect offgrid camping
We stayed at the Bow River site, it was huge well maintained area, lots of space for kids to run around. Dave is a great host, he escorted us to our site and stopped off at a few places on the way to tell us about areas we should check out while we are there and kindly gave us some beautiful fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. We spent most of our time relaxing at our camp site or splashing about in the river. Beautiful place to stay, heaps of wildlife, awesome caves, amazing night sky's and so peacefully quiet. Kids are already excited to get back and explore around the area even more. Can't wait to return for a longer stay.

Potato Gully
Lovely property, wonderful host.
Great spot with loads of space and plenty to explore. Dave is a wonderful host. 4wd access to Potato Gully is very manageable with an off road camper.

Riverside
This is classic bush camping but Dave's bush block has a river, caves, wedge tailed Eagles and 2000 acres right next to the Wolemi National Park. And the cucumbers he gave us were really good.

Bow River Campsite
Great bush camping
We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying at the bow river campsite at hillside. David was incredibly helpful meeting us at the gate and escorting us to the site. He was very transparent about the access conditions and was a big confidence booster in taking our 16ft hybrid camper off road for the first time. The property was very well sign posted and David encouraged us to explore the property as we wished, so we got to experience the beautiful views, a variety of bush walks and swimming spots. Our 3 kids 4 years and under had a great time, especially playing in the sand, climbing the rocks and swimming in the river (which whilst lower at the time was perfect for our family). Big open spaces for the kids to ride bikes and play games. We saw lots of different wild life wallabies, goannas, wombats and a beautiful python. David has even provided very clean portaloos at each site. In our opinion it would be a great spot for camping summer or winter. We would love to visit again.

Eagles View
Eagles View
We would highly recommend staying on this amazing property. We felt very privileged to experience such a diverse landscape and be free to walk, drive all over to Ben River, caves and of course up to the highest point where we camped with 360 degree views of the Goulburn River National Park. Spectacular sunsets and sunrises, stary skies. Dave is a fantastic host, showed us to our camp and maintains the property, including your own toilet. We will definitely be going back 👍🏻
