Out past the end of the bitumen and right on the fringe of the Pilliga, Gilgooma is the kind of place where the sky does the talking and the silence says more than a podcast ever could. This is a working family farm that’s been in the hands (and dust-covered boots) of three generations, now sharing its wild charm with the kind of traveller who doesn’t need a concierge – just a clear night and a campfire. We’re offering pet- and family-friendly camping, with a good mix of unpowered bush spots, a handful of powered sites, and a couple of simple cabins if you prefer a roof and a hot cuppa. You’ll need to be self-sufficient – there’s no café latte machine or mobile reception out here, but we reckon that’s part of the charm. Camp under the stars. Wander the trails. Watch the roos and galahs do their thing. And if you’re keen to learn how a proper sheep farm ticks, we’ll take you behind the scenes on a personalised farm tour (just ask). We're smack-bang between Coonamble and Pilliga, making us a perfect base for day trips — or just a good honest breather from the grind.       Powered allocated sites
      Pip's Campsite a Galgoona is a an excellent set up . The toilets, showers and camp-kitchen were much more than expected. There was a genuine farm vibe. A handy place to stay on our journey between Dubbo and Brewarrina. The sunset and sunrise were intense.
