Situated in the Caldera under the shadow of Mount Warning is a small secluded acreage within the bend of a large creek. It is comprised of an open creek flat with views of the mountain and horses grazing that is surrounded by some remnant and some regenerated subtropical rainforest along the creek frontage. There are a couple of small private swimming holes and walking tracks along the creek where you can stop and sit for some quiet contemplation, watch the native birdlife, do some forest bathing, or maybe even spot some local platypus or other native wildlife. We offer 4 separate powered sites, that you are welcome to choose from on arrival based on availability. NOTE: two private power sites are available upon request on arrival , if conditions are favourable . You will need to have two power leads to hook to power though. We have room for large caravans, motorhomes and buses. Please note, one vehicle/caravan per site. If you have multiple vehicles/caravans, you will need to book multiple sites. Weather permitting (no rain) we also have two unpowered sites available in another paddock, closer to the creek. There is no power or water at these sites, and you will need to be self-contained. We also have a gazebo/camp kitchen available to all guests where you can relax and take in the tranquil atmosphere of the property. Running water, power, and BBQ are supplied here. All campers must be self-contained at this time, with their own camp toilet. We have Telstra mobile reception here only.

Lower Camp Unpowered Sites
Gabrielle's Retreat Camping
What a lovely spot for a short break! We chose the Lower Camp unpowered sites to test out our camper trailer setup. We were fortunate enough to have the whole grassy area to ourselves, which was delightful. Bruce met us on arrival and provided a rundown on the property and places to relax in the creek. It was hot, so the creek was a great place to stay cool and enjoy the serenity. We will definitely be back.

Lower Camp Unpowered Sites
The property itself is very beautiful, with horses and lush greenery. Unfortunately there was limited flat areas that was suitable for our camper van. Likewise the limited shaded spots were taken up by a permanent van. Grass also had a lot of bindies and dog poo. It was quite hot and humid, and the spot wasn't the vibe we were after, so we chose to leave and spend the night elsewhere. A great option if you've got a lot of shade and can level out your camp. Also recommend opting for the lower area if you want to be close to the water.

We loved it! It was quiet, private and beautiful walking tracks along the creek. The grass was mowed short around our designated spot and with a down pour of rain it drained away no prob. Super close to town we could head to the pub and gelati shop.

Absolutely amazing, Bruce was the hostess with the mostest, he loves what he does & shows you all the highlights of the stay. The swimming spots in the beautiful creeks, there are several just a couple of mins walk to each. Very private & peaceful stay, lovely surrounds with horses in their paddocks. Bruce even checked on everyone one morning as the night had winds & he wanted to know everyone was ok & no damage it was all good tho not that bad. Go there and enjoy the serenity & beauty of this stunning camp stay
