Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Our family farm is 120 years old, and one of the first dairy farms built in Upper Lansdowne. We have native and European bee hives, wild birds, paddocks of cows, and spectacular views.
The private campsite is located below the volcanic plug, Mount Olive, just next to our semi-permanent creek. It is tucked into a very pretty area of the property with filtered sunlight, and lots of beautiful nooks to explore. Kids big and small will love it! Further afield on the property are paddocks and forest, you're also welcome to explore.
The other side of the volcanic plug where you'll camp is a breeding ground for black cockatoos, so you'll see them daily, along with other birdlife and wallabies.
You're welcome to light a campfire and enjoy a BBQ under the stars and by the beautiful gum trees. There are lookouts and trail walks within half hour from the property, or you may prefer to walk down our quiet county road and take in the views.
You do need to be self-contained to stay here, so please ensure you have your own camp toilet.
We are 2.5km from the Upper Landsdown Community Hall which often has live music and community events, check their website for upcoming events.
For day trips, we are a half hour away from Taree, and just within an hour from Harrington and Crowdy Beach.
Note, we are a tinkerers farm! So there is a lot of farm equipment and various buildings and sheds around the place. We also have a large garden and an old farmhouse, all a fair way away from the campsite - so you can choose as much or as little contact with us - your hosts.Set up camp below the volcanic plug, Mount Olive, just next to our semi-permanent creek.
