Our stunning 2000 acre working Cattle property offers this beautiful private camping retreat right on the bank of the Severn River in the Ashford area. Our camping sites are located far enough from each other so that we can offer complete privacy during your stay where you will have no other campers around you for literally kilometers. You can see more of our property by searching 'River Camping Ashford Dan Proud'. Our part of the Severn River offers many large fishing holes with excellent fishing for Murray Cod, Yellow Belly and Catfish, we request that you only catch and release please. The river is also great for kayaking, swimming and boating and has very large areas of small rapids along river. Relax around the fire pit in the evenings and enjoy our beautiful sunsets and star gazing, in the mornings you can enjoy the sounds of the beautiful bird song. The area is abundant with wildlife, including native birds, platypus and koalas. We are also located only 10kms from Pindari Dam which is another great spot for all water based activities. We are 10kms from Pindari Adventure Park which is a great spot to take kids. We are 25kms from Macintyre Falls and the Kwiambal National Parks which has a number of beautiful walks you can enjoy. Ben Falls, Goat Rock, Reedy Creek Winery and Zappers Winery are all close by as well. Campers must stay within the designated camping area whilst on the property. We have provided a fire pit for your enjoyment and can arrange firewood to be available upon request. Campers must be fully self sufficient and take all waste with them on departure.

VETERANS & FIRST RESPONDERS RETREAT
Beautiful spot with heaps of wildlife, the river is gorgeous. Susannah is an amazing host! Very secluded and feels like you’re the only ones there. Will definitely be returning.

Very peaceful and tranquil. Sites were well spaced out on a green river bank. One of the best places we have camped at. Directions to our site were clear.

Sandstone Severn River Camping
Top River Camp Spot
Really lovely camp site right on the Severn River. Spacious, well maintained level grassy areas. Very clean. Pleasant views and teaming with bird life, native animals and farm animals. We caught fish, swam and canoed along the river. There is also heaps of space to wander around exploring along the river or through the paddocks. Super peaceful and relaxing.

Site 3 - Severn River Camping 🏕
The campsite we had (no. 3) was ideal for our hybrid caravan (6M long) but may not be suitable for larger caravans. The camp sites are alongside the river which is a great location for relaxing and listening to the birds, wildlife spotting and the fishing. They are well spaced out so there is complete privacy. We did not see a platypus but that may have been due to the river rising 300mm+ on our first day due to the Pindari Dam releasing water for the irrigators downstream. We did, however, see an echidna in broad daylight on several occasions very close to the site. The owner provided a ski type kayak for each site which as a nice surprise. We were unable to have camp fires at night due to the NSW total fire ban which started just after we arrived. That was a pity because there were fire pits on each site and there was plenty of firewood on site plus the owner had offered free firewood before the ban was imposed.....

Fernlee River Camping
Stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful quiet camp. Our dog enjoyed the freedom of being off leash and swimming. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting peace and quiet. Susannah was a most welcoming and helpful host.
