Our stunning 2000 acre working Cattle property offers this beautiful private camping retreat right on the bank of the Severn River in the Ashford area. Our camping sites are located far enough from each other so that we can offer complete privacy during your stay where you will have no other campers around you for literally kilometers. You can see more of our property by searching 'River Camping Ashford Dan Proud'. Our part of the Severn River offers many large fishing holes with excellent fishing for Murray Cod, Yellow Belly and Catfish, we request that you only catch and release please. The river is also great for kayaking, swimming and boating and has very large areas of small rapids along river. Relax around the fire pit in the evenings and enjoy our beautiful sunsets and star gazing, in the mornings you can enjoy the sounds of the beautiful bird song. The area is abundant with wildlife, including native birds, platypus and koalas. We are also located only 10kms from Pindari Dam which is another great spot for all water based activities. We are 10kms from Pindari Adventure Park which is a great spot to take kids. We are 25kms from Macintyre Falls and the Kwiambal National Parks which has a number of beautiful walks you can enjoy. Ben Falls, Goat Rock, Reedy Creek Winery and Zappers Winery are all close by as well. Campers must stay within the designated camping area whilst on the property. We have provided a fire pit for your enjoyment and can arrange firewood to be available upon request. Campers must be fully self sufficient and take all waste with them on departure.

Site 4- Severn River Camping 🏕
Camping on the Severn River Ashford
What a truly amazing place, I've been searching for the perfect river camp and finally found it. Individual sites that are private and the only noise is the abundant Birdlife and the wind whistling through the sheoaks and willows that line the Severn River. The sites cater for all caravan types from the more adventurous to the standard caravan. Just pick the site that best suits your needs. Close to Ashford a town that offers groceries and takeaway. Very friendly area, nearly everyone waves from passing cars and in town. We really didn't want to leave. The host Susannah is genuinely friendly, helpful and welcoming when you arrive. I've left a lot of reviews over the years but this one is a must see, if you like off-grid camping.

Coolabri Paddock, Severn River
We loved the serenity of the place. Designated camp sites were clear and tidy. Tracks were slashed and we were welcome to explore the property. Susannah was very accomodating and a wonderful host. We will definitely be going back

Absolute supreme spot, we could not have asked for anything better. Quiet and peaceful. The amount of wildlife is incredible! We caught a massive cod, saw turtles and plenty of platypus cruising up and down the river. Will be back!

The last 3 days my beloved & I have stayed on the “Fernlee Station”which is south of Texas. The Severn river runs through it & we were camped right beside it in our off road pop top caravan surrounded by 3000 head of beef cattle, koalas & kangaroos plus Platypuses & Murray Cod were plentiful at our doorstep (literally). Went on many walks, a small climb, 4wd around the property & done some canoeing. This property is HUGE !!! A trip up to the Pindari Dam, which is simply beautiful. Wild goats, sheep & lambs are everywhere up in this area. A big thank you to Susannah for her hospitality. We will be back !
