With its large, secluded Bush Campsites, 'Chapman Valley' is still Sydney's best-kept secret! Picture this. Your weekend escape is relaxed from the very start - the car trip along the scenic winding Putty Road is slow and leisurely as you know you can arrive at any time for the self serve check-in. After signing in, you meander through this Beef Cattle farm, heading to your own designated camping area. A private corner of the property all to yourselves! After setting up camp, and showing off your awesome (of course) campfire lighting skills, you sink back in your camp-chair and listen to ...the bush. And you see ...the bush. Not a single other camper in site. Oh, except the ones you invited with you of course! There they are. The kids running enthusiastically across the open paddock chasing after their footy, with Buster, the family dog happily nipping at their heels. "They'll sleep well tonight!" you think to yourself happily, as you sink further into your camp-chair and take a long drink on that ice cold beer. 1hr drive from the nearest town (Singleton), "Chapman Valley" is the perfect oasis for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. There are no nearby shops so be sure to bring everything with you. The property offers over 100kms of bush tracks ideal for walking, push-bike riding or 4WDing. On site-horse riding is available, offering rides ranging from 1hr family rides to full day experienced rides. Check out our website for a full list of offerings. The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Sites available for all vehicle types, from buses and large caravans to fully kitted out off-road vehicles.

Our 'Communal Campsite' is a very large designated paddock shared with other campers. The Communal area is best for those wanting to camp within walking distance to the Amenities Block. But don't be fooled, this shared area still beats camping in a caravan park. Unlimited space - no campsite boundaries. Stretch out as much as you like and you can park your car at your site, whether there's one car or twenty, there's still plenty of room! Amenities include flushing toilets and hot showers.  Picture this. Your weekend escape is relaxed from the very start - the car trip along the scenic winding Putty Road is slow and leisurely as you know you can arrive at any time for the self-serve check-in. We had a great time camping at Chapman valley! The communication was excellent and directions were easy to understand and follow. The camp area was well maintained and we had visits from the cows! We will definitely be booking again! ☺️

We had a very peaceful stay. Loved the wildlife and so great to be able to have our dog off lead in the remote site. Stunning surroundings. We will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chapman Valley. It was lovely knowing people were around but far enough away that it feels private and secluded. The property was fantastic, loved 4WD and exploring the huge property and saying hi to the horses.

Super lovely spot just a short drive from Sydney city. Well kept grounds and very helpful staff for any questions or needs. We had one of the private sites and it felt nice and isolated while still being a 20min walk back to front office for firewood, toilets, showers. Highly recommend!

We camped in one of the 4WD camping site. We loved everything about the place. Very private bush camping around the woods away from the traffic and social media. Other campsites were very far away, we loved it and willing to revisit soon. Next time we will come with mountain bike as we missed it this time. Recommend everyone for their private and

We loved our time camping at Chapman Valley. We were allocated Green Wattle Arm 5, and it was just perfect! Our dog had the most amazing time with lots of space. It was very private. Communication was spot on, our spot was easy to find and we had preordered our firewood. We explored the property via 4wD , and saw lots of wildlife along the way. We will definitely be back. 10/10!

Communal Campsite
Amazing place. We camped at the base of the hill next to the firewood pile. Absolutely loved it. Toilets could be managed better but being Easter weekend, there were lots of people and maybe that was the cause. Kids loved horse 'Toby' riding. My son already wants to go there again.

What an incredible camping spot! The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views and easy access to some amazing 4x4 tracks. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The off-road trails were a highlight—challenging but so much fun! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great camping experience and adventure on the trails. Will definitely be coming back!

Semi-Private 4WD site
Chapman Valley camping was a nice spot. We were 3 families. The semi-private site we had was very spacious. Other groups were about 100m away from us. The trailer load of firewood we bought in advance was really good wood and easily lasted us the 4 nights with lots left over. The creek bed was completely dry, so no water play which we really needed on the hot days. It was hot during the day and very cold at night. Our site was quite flat so set up was easy. We had a few small trees but not enough for all our hammocks unfortunately. We were on site “pop up 3” which they only use for busy long weekends. So maybe other sites had more trees. We went horse riding which was great. All of our kids went in a group (6-11yrs) without parents. It was sold to us as a 2 hour session (1 hour getting to know your horse, 1 hour trail ride), but it was so busy over the long weekend, we were left waiting for the first hour. When we mentioned it to them, they organised for our kids to come back in the afternoon to spend time with some horses. We fed the horses and helped groom them which the kids loved, so they were great at trying to make up for the mistake. Unfortunately over the Easter long weekend there was a very loud rave festival a few kms away that we could hear all night long. This might be why we saw no wildlife at all. Overall we had a great time at Chapman valley. Just make sure you go fully prepared with water, and everything you will need, because there is nothing out there.

Communal Campsite
I recently visited Chapman Valley and had a fantastic camping experience. The campsite was clean, check-in was smooth, and there were plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the day. The highlight, though, was the stunning night sky—absolutely breathtaking and perfect for stargazing.

This was a great place to camp. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our site was private and quiet leaving us to enjoy ourselves. The 4WD was also fun around the property. Will definitely be back.

Private Bush Campsite - 4WD access
My favourite place to come back to. There's just something about waking up to the call of lyrebirds and mooing of the cows. Nice big secluded 4wd sites too. Easy check in and campsite instructions as always.

Review for Hipcamp: This campsite was exactly what I was looking for—peaceful, secluded, and so relaxing. The directions were clear, making it easy to find, and the pre-paid firewood was a super convenient touch. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. I’ll definitely be back!

Great Spot,easy found even without phone service.Staff are very friendly and accommodating,id recommend a private/senior private camp as it is more secluded,we had peace and privacy from other groups with kangaroos coning by,10/10 would go again

Beautiful campsite and surroundings! Clear and easy instructions provided by the host for directions to my campsite prior to arrival. The sites couldn’t be more secluded and loved the amount of wildlife I saw during my stay. 10/10

Had a great weekend trip away with the family. The private sites were really private, you could see the occasional car drive past a couple hundred meters away, but other than that, didn’t see or hear other campers! We had a 4 year old who could wander around safely and 2 dogs that had a blast. Kangaroos were moving through the site each day, and cows wandered up for a look at one point too, blowing our kids mind haha. There are no toilets or showers at each site, but you can drive back to the little shop at the entrance if you want a shower or a toilet, it’s not so far and easy to get to. They also sell basic camp consumables as well, super handy if you forgot the tomato sauce like we did. They also didn’t ramp up prices a million percent like most places do for those things. Campfire pit was ready to go and you can buy wood at the front office if you forget to bring any. Overall, the fam had a really good time away, thanks guys!

Excellent place to stay with plenty to see. Booked the private 2wd camp, was amazing to sit around the fire and relax. Kids had a ride on the horses and staff were very helpful. Look forward to returning soon!

I loved my stay and will definitely be back! Clear instructions from the host, very reasonable rules, well kept camp ground, completely private and secluded. It felt like there was no one else for miles and miles. The kids loved the animals.

Chapman valley was a gorgeous property to camp on. We camped at a private 2wd site and the facilities were great to have only a short drive away. Very private, but still very convenient!
