Such a perfect getaway for a two day camp. Immediately relaxing. Generous camp site sizes. A really lovely 15-20 minute leisurely walk through bush and what looks like old dairy country to the wild and remote Meringo beach which was stunning. James’ instructions were spot on and he was quick to respond to questions. Highly recommended.

James’ property is a beautiful piece of land nestled in the National Park and hugging the coast just south of Congo. The flora and fauna is incredibly diverse and the only sounds you hear are the crashing of waves and the song of birds. We absolutely loved our stay here.

Cape Meringo is a wonderful spot for a nature retreat. The surroundings are beautiful, with a national park and a beach close by. The privacy is excellent, offering a peaceful escape. James provided clear instructions for reaching the property, making the trip easy. It’s a great place for a quiet getaway.

What a glorious campsite! Surrounded by natural bush, well away from the main roads and absolutely silent! The walk down to the beach was stunning. Also 5⭐️ for the hosts incredible instructions on how to get to the site, and how to make the most of the location!

Really nice spot that is close to loads of good beaches for surfing and fishing!
Its great getting a campsite that isn't crowded and you can have a nice fire at to cook on and keep warm.

I camped in site 4, it was perfect for one vehicle. I absolutely love this place. I was lucky enough to have the whole place to myself, I was in absolute heaven.
It's the best of both worlds, being in the bush, hearing the ocean and a beautiful walk to get there. James is THE BEST host.

Quiet sites among the trees and an easy 25 minute walk to splendid beaches and the Bingie Walk. James is a super host. We will be back often.

We loved camping at Meringo, there is plenty of bush land to explore, and the beach is an easy 25 minute walk from the campsites. The sites were spaced closer then we thought they would be on booking but it was a quiet weekend so it was okay. The beach isn’t dog friendly as it is National Park, but it is a lovely ocean. There are plenty of native animals on the property too.

Only 4 camp sites spread out amongst mature growth trees. No facilities which was perfect for me. James was super clear in his comms and quick to respond. Can’t wait to get back.

We had an excellent couple of days staying on this property next to Meringo Beach. The beach was an easy walk and is a great, quiet spot to spend some time. The farm itself was beautiful. I would definitely recommend staying a few nights at this incredible spot!

Friendly greeting from James, Ringo and Punch on arrival, followed by the a beautiful secluded campsite. Access to a secluded beach by dropping kayaks in the lake. Brilliant.

A unique camp in beautiful old growth forest, lovely wildlife & cultural history, great lagoon entrance perfect for family swimming, abundant firewood, nice camps next to National Park. Although the site looks like it has easy access to water it requires walking for 5-10min. up/down a hill across a big cleared area dragging kayaks/boards etc., especially when the lagoon levels are low. Not too much of an issue unless you have young kids in very hot weather, as we did.

It’s like a a little secret you don’t want to tell too many people. James place was incredible. Bordering a national park with magical coves and beaches just 10 minutes walk away. James met us when we arrived and shared some great suggestions and information about the area with us. He helped us to our spot and then left us to it. He was very keen to share his love of the nature and surroundings which was great to hear. We will definitely come back.

We arrived late due to delays that day but James was so helpful and accommodating, he came out and showed us to our campsite in the dark! We had a whole area to ourselves and didn’t see other guests all weekend, it was lovely! The views of Meringo beach are beautiful on the hill there, so we took the opportunity to go and sit on the beach for both sunrise and sunset (5 min walk through grassy area, if that!) and we saw lots of furry neighbours (kangaroos) This weekend was so peaceful, we even got lucky with clears skies to watch the sky fill with hundreds of stars and the Milky Way at night on the beach! If you like late night party camping, this isn’t the place for you! Thank you for a great weekend James :)

Quiet and secluded camping spots with easy access to several beaches and walking trails. Lots of wildlife including kangaroos. wallabies, goannas and dolphins playing in the surf.
James (and his dog) were very friendly and welcoming.

Great to meet James who shared his enthusiasm and love for this wonderful place. Campsite was clean private firewood already stacked up. Proximity to the best beaches and quiet wandering through the bush. Looking forward to coming back.

Cape Meringo is a fabulous natural camping spot.
Great location, walk to beach, lots of Bush walks. Heaps of wildlife including Roos, Wallabies, Goannas & lots of lovely birds.
James is a very welcoming host, greets & informs you about the property & it's surrounds & leaves you to enjoy it but is available if required.
We will definitely be returning to this quiet sanctuary.
