Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts.  The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today.  Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

Colo river
The campsite was wonderful, yes its a little near the road so you can hear traffic occasionally but nevertheless amazing spot, colo river had much to offer great little beach and rope swing. Our host was amazing probably the best host ive ever had and gave us details to a wonderful lookout spot which was incredible, definitely recommend staying here

Site 5 - C- Colo - Just Beautiful..
Camping with Kids
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay We wanted to introduce our lids to camping without overwhelming them and C Colo was the perfect place for us. Both Steve and Danielle were very friendly and soo accomodating and the daily yummy homemade brownies were a great way to top off the day. I would highly recommend C Colo to anyone looking to get outta the city but dont wanna have to travel hours to get to a good spot!!

Site 4 - C Colo - just beautiful
The best getaway!
We had such a great time at Colo Campsite! Steve was fantastic—he checked in on us regularly to make sure we were all set and even surprised us with warm, homemade brownies one evening. He also gave us a thoughtful welcome gift, which was such a nice touch. The campsite itself was stunning. The river nearby was beautiful, and everything was so clean and well cared for. We even had horses grazing right next to us, which made the whole experience feel extra special. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Site 3 - C Colo - just beautiful
Great access to the beautiful river and canoes. Camp site was also really good, nice open space and not too close to other campers. Steve was very helpful and went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay, especially for the kids.

Site 5 - C- Colo - Just Beautiful..
Beautiful Colo River
We had a great couple of days at C-Colo! The camp site was nice, not too many people, with easy access to the river down a short track. We rented a kayak and paddled upstream to a beautiful beach and my son absolutely loved the rope swing which was a short swim away. So much fun and close to Sydney.

Great, secluded campsite in close proximity to the river. Would definitely recommend. Steve went out of his way to make our stay an excellent one.
