We all absolutely loved staying on the property, it was beautiful and peaceful, there were signs so was easy to find where we need to go. We would highly recommend this place and will be coming back.

The location is stunning, with beautiful scenery, in the middle of nature. We were there over Easter and unfortunately some of the other sites were quite rowdy and we were surprised at how much the sound carried. However if you were there at a quieter time with less people I imagine it would be much more peaceful.

We had a great stay at Brooman. It was a great spot and we would definitely reccomend. Great places to swim, and lovely and private campsites. Lovely drive from Sydney with plenty of places to stop on the way for lunch.

Crystal clear river ✨️

Beautiful little spot, camp-site itself was nice with a little tin roof shelter and fire pit, we stayed at 1B which was about 50m from the river itself, little bush walk down some stairs. Toilets were nice and clean, and the portable water made it really easy to wash up. I took a toyota hilux to access the property but I honestly recon it can be done in a 2wd (weather permitting) the road we took was off the state forest and it honestly wasn't that bumpy or hilly. Few divots and a little erosion here and there. There's patchy phone reception in places which makes it hard with Google maps, i will say to keep an eye on every farm gate you see when you think you are close as the signs a bit hard to spot (the gate itself has the name on it but it's hard to read) but yes 100% recommend this place if i can camp there by myself with a 6 year old and a 1.5 year old and have fun then I'm sure you will too

Beautiful spot!

We had a wonderful few nights down at Burroman Flat enjoying the tranquility and the frequent swims in the Clyde river next to the sites. The water is a nice temperature this time of year, and there are lots of spots to get in. Trish was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. It certainly added to our experience having the place to ourselves, but the various campsites are well spread out, although relying on solar would be difficult. Our only regret was in not being stealthy enough to creep up and see a platypus, which I suspect live in the area.

The rain didn’t stop us enjoying our stay! We had plenty of private space, it felt like we were alone. Easy access to the river – we enjoyed swimming and fishing – with our toddlers/kids. Close enough to Bawley Point and other towns, beaches etc too. We’d stay again, happily!

Great level grassy site with plenty of room around if required for a larger group. Spacing between sites at the property was done well, there were other guests on site during our stay but didn't feel like you were living in each other's pockets. Provision of potable water and permission to use firewood already on the ground was particularly helpful. Detailed directions to the site were also spot on. Planning to visit again sometime. Cheers

River Not Direct Access

The land was nice, the camp spot at 1a was nice. But, the 'direct access to river' that was advertised was disappointing. You have to walk down some steep stairs and through 100m the bush to get to the river, which isn't very accessible and has a very strong current. We couldn't get the kayak down there, and the kids couldn't swim. We booked for the river to kayak, swim and fish. We couldn't do that, so we left a day early out of boredom. The images on the site make it look like the camp site is next to the river and the river is good for activities.

Great spot! If you want privacy, easy access to the river and be close to both the toilets, water and campsite entrance, this is the spot for you! To note, 1A & 1B seem to be smaller than 1 but that's because 1 is ginormous and I swear could fit 5+ tents on it! 1B has so much room and the layout makes it private, even with 1A being next door. 1B has a direct access point to the river, which you will need to walk down steps to get to. We were there on a sudden downpour so the rivers current was strong but we still got in and had a wonderful time! If you have kids I would advise not to let them roam around near the river solo. We didn't expect to find a roofed shelter on our site, and thank goodness we had it! It was perfect for the days it rained... I liked this a lot, and is a great addition. The directions Trish sent were very useful! and we advise to download them- phone signal isn't easy to come by on the sites. Toilets are super close and you have a choice of portable chemical toilets or drop toilets. There is ample water available and the camp spots are well looked after. The view of the hill is beautiful and the wildlife is stunning! Definitely one for the bird watchers.

brooman is a very special place a bit of un touched paradise we stayed at the paddlers camp and enjoyed fishing swimming and canoeing everyday all of the grounds are very well maintained all of the camps are easy to find! thank you matt and Trish see you next time

Everything you need

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful campsite, made even better by the wonderful Trish, who went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay enjoyable. Portaloos and long-drop toilets regularly cleaned, and abundant potable water in tanks spread around the property that are regularly topped up. Abundant spots to swim on the river, that is easily accessible, gentle and child friendly. Also caught a couple of nice Australian bass. Access to the property is via unsealed roads so be prepared for a very dirty vehicle, but this is the only negative. If you're not up for camping, there are also the cottages, which Trish gave us a tour of and have been lovingly and beautifully restored. We loved our stay and will be back.

Amazing place with very secluded and private sites. Lots of space even for large groups but you would hardly know others are there - most of the sites are very sheltered and surrounded by lots of trees and bushes. Lovely and welcoming hosts!

1st Flat Brooman Casuarina Camp

It is a beautiful spot that is very quite (except for the cicadas). It felt like we were in the middle of no where with no signs of civilisation. The river was a great place to have a dip and shallow enough for the little ones. I would definitely return.

We loved the privacy of the sites and cleanliness of the camp toilets. We would definitely stay again but would recommend if you have a canoe, the sites to choose would be The Top Crossing or Second Crossing as we were unable to launch from ours.

Second Crossing Camp Site

We enjoyed our camp on site 3. It is large and grassy and mostly level (few humps and bumps) but the majority of the site is under large gun trees, some with dead-looking branches. They worried us a little in the wind, which was high across the field each day between lunchtime and 5-7pm. Prepare for this when planning fires. This year was also massively loud with thousands of cicadas, but it is unlikely to repeat for a few years. Ticks were also rife, so be prepared with tick spray. We had our own toilets etc so only used the drop loo once, but it was pleasant enough (as holes full of human excrement go). 🤣 The river is about 50m from the site, down a steep zigzag walking track. River can’t be seen from the site, but a short walk down & to the left gets to a lovely babbling rocky patch which was a nice place to sit and cool off. We took kayaks & SUPs and paddled 8km downstream to Shallow Crossing (about 4 hours with 3 adults and 3 teens). There were lots of logs and other obstacles to clear, and small sections of pebbly baby-‘rapids’, some of which were a bit to shallow to ride down and had to be walked. There’s also a section where the river goes underground/disappears and you need to walk about 100m through the flood way. Hot tip, stay to the right side where the river splits at this point. It is a bit counter-intuitive but the left hand deeper side is impenetrable. This will obviously change too with rain. Some 4G reception near sites 6-8 with Optus

Second crossing is a great little spot! Plenty of room to yourself and right by the river. Easy directions to follow and a nice clean place for a nice quiet stay. Would definitely stop by again.
