Binghi Station Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900. Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty. Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

This is the campground area (not overlooking water). You can set up here and drive 5min, bike ride or walk to Sandy Falls or 15 min walk or 5min drive to The Gorge.  Nestled overlooking a past heritage homestead that was turned into a discontinued shearing shed. Great open camping spot. Great views overlooking distant mountains and natural raw bushland that once had many families of wild brumbies many moons ago. Breath-taking star gazing around a campfire.  Morning / afternoon sun perfect for the cooler months.  There is a regularly cleaned portable toilet on site aswell as a neat and tidy pit toilet. Exciting future plans in place. Planted on site over 50 years ago is 2 x spectacularly large Orange trees that just seem to bloom all year round. Great for nice shade cover and place to read a book.  This spot is great spot for letting your children free to roam and explore on there bikes, play on there remote control cars or large family friend groups that can stretch out and use it as a great base camp! Due to the site being booked in advance by our free roaming dorpa sheep unfortunately we discourage dogs in this zone that have the temperament to chase animals. So for the benefits of doubt kindly keep on leach for any uncertainty be greatly appreciated. Great news though for visiting the swim holes more than welcome to be leach free. As pet lovers ourselves please disclose your lovely furry friends so we can happily discuss there accommodation needs. :-) at the same time we are very pet friendly. For caravaners, camper trailers owners please understand that there is no (current) 100% level spots. It is a very slight hill rise but nothing like a chock will fix to bring your trailer level. We have levels welcome to borrow. There is lots of space We look forward to hearing from you all!

Welcome to our quiet remote Gorge site booking. Designed for private family/friend group bookings in mind.  Pitch your swag, tent or camper-trailer in a picture perfect Gorge private hideaway or ask us for a glamping setup! With high Natural Gorge rock faces and lots of shady tree coverage from the midday sun you will honesty think you're in Kakadu but without the crocs of course!... It is truly an amazing refreshing swimming hole. Either relax reading a book or simply lay in the refreshing creek and watch your kids have great time and wear themselves out makes it all worthwhile. You will be truly amazed how peaceful and secluded you are from the busy stressful world.  We promote it as 4x4 access only mostly due to the "not so level driveway and tracks". The Gorge track is accessable for all size camper trailers. Great news we have removed a nuisance tree along the track to open it up to most caravans but perhaps not recommend large size lengths such as 17foot and above. Pls enquire further any questions. Dogs are welcome. Absolute pooch heaven! Leash free zone.  Great news this site is 100% exclusiveness to your booking. Monthly Latest update April 23: Site access requires non-SUV 4x4's. Must only be "proper" 4x4 with diff lock in-case of uncertain weather conditions. It is rugged, raw and remote from the rest of the property snugged against a flowing cascading creek that boasts a 6 metre deep water hole with multi levels that all ages adore. Only the brave heart will conquer the highest point. Most suited for family/friend groups with juniors and above whom love to expel some energy or couple that which to be away from everyone! Sandy Falls is a lovely group size family oriented camp site. Uniquely situated above the picturesque well renown Binghi Waterfall. Guests will enjoy the raw beauty of the natural bush landscape, late afternoon cold treats watching the sunsetting over the water fall horizon and the early morning birds singing well then again, a possible rooster crowing from the homestead few hundred metres away. What's more you're right there should you wish to dip your toes or wade in the refreshing granite sand filtered creek pool. You may even have a friendly peacock visit you of an afternoon to display his bloom in aid of a free scraps. This site is best suited for caravanners of all sizes if you want to be on the waters edge. ALERT: If you have checked your dates like to stay on Hip camp and says unavailable please check with us first by message as we are experiencing some short term technicalities with the site. Sandy Falls is truly an award-winning photographic backdrop for all special memories. It would be the most suited for vans as many prefer the level ground and of course nothing beats being right near your very own waterfall & swimming hole that is sure hard to beat. Welcome to our Family special booking site. It is designed for parents with more than most kids. This is the campground area (not overlooking water). We were lucky enough to arrive just after some pretty severe storms went through & were the only ones there. We had the entire 4,000 acres to ourselves! We took our electric mountain bikes & loved riding or walking to Sandy Falls, or even Secret Gorge, which was a little more challenging. Jump’n Rock is about 1/2 an hour by 4WD & absolutely worth the effort. All three sites are absolutely spectacular! Plenty of good camp sites at Shearing Shed Campground but as Adrian says, be prepared as none of them are level. We were OK as we have airbag suspension. Adrian, Oratai & their 5 year old twins were perfect hosts & couldn’t do enough for us. Such a lovely family, they deserve to do well. Worth mentioning the track in. Adrian is careful to state that the track is 4WD only & be aware that whatever you are towing needs plenty of ground clearance also. We have a Ford Ranger & towed a 20’ extreme off road van. The track is very well compacted, so we were never going to get bogged but some of the hills were quite rutted & rocky & we had our hearts in our mouths on the way out, with all 4 wheels spinning! Adrian tells me he has a D6 bulldozer booked in the next month or so, so that should make a huge difference. All in all, we just loved our experience at Binghi Station. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Binghi Station and the hosts really make the effort to make your stay the best they can. Though we originally booked the Jump'n Rock site, the owners gave us insight of other sites that would be better for us with our two toddlers.. luckily we listened! We stayed at Sandy falls campsite and it was perfect for the kids.. and we did a day trip to the other sites anyway. There can be a few flies depending on the weather but bring your Bushman's Repellant like we did and you'll be fine! There's lots to explore and the rock landscapes are beautiful.. definitely one to remember. Very impressed by all the sites and our hosts!

Shearing Shed Campground
Wow! Go. Just go! If you have a high clearance 4wd and love the outdoors - just do it. Adrian's property is gorgeous! Well maintained and Adrian himself is very personable, accommodating and helpful. The Shearers Shed Campground is spacious, lovely farm views, orange trees, toilets and a shower space to hang your portable shower and the sheep are friendly. Plenty of open space for the kids to run and play and there are various trees to provide some relief from the sun - and only a short walk to the Falls. The Gorge Campground was my fave! Good amenities including a shower setup. Campsites were beautiful next to the Gorge and the Gorge itself had a lovely swing and was a great swimming hole. Serenity plus! The falls.... Wow... Heaven... The falls were running - albeit not grand in flow or height, but it did not matter. This place has its own special magic that has to be experienced to be understood. Jumping Rock Campground was a beautiful spot if you like a good view and a more remote spot. It IS stunning. For me, I like to swim alot. So it wasn't my preferred campground just for this reason as the water wasn't flowing well and access to swimming in the water holes was a little more challenging. BUT, if you are there for the serenity and the views and love elevated gorges - this is for you. Overall - MAGIC. And I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone that is a nature lover. Adrian... Thank YOU. You are one lucky man!!!

15/10/25 Had an absolutely great time at Sandy Falls. Highly recommend. The whole spot to ourselves. Lots waterfalls and beautiful water. We also organised a breakfast on our last pack up day and the food was delicious. For noting…. The driveway in is 6kms long but took us 41mins going like 5-10klm as the the dirt road is 4x4. We had a jeep (very capable) and pop top camper trailer (not as capable as didn’t have a highland hitch) and needed to take it slow and steady so not to do any damage. It’s doable just need to be careful. Lots of farm animals - Peacocks, Peahens, Wallaby’s, sheep, farm dogs etc…. Will def do again.

I had the most incredible trip, starting with the 4wd road in which was a lot of fun and added to the experience. The property and facilities were perfect and Andrian and his family were so welcoming. There were so many different places to explore on the property. I will definitely be back again and bringing friends and family so they can experience the property as well.

Great campsite at the sheering shed. Plenty of room to spread out and not too busy at all, plenty of things to see and explore. Would definatly recommend for a weekend away to unplug and unwind.

Shearing Grounds Family Week Escape
This place is magical. Between harvesting from the 60 year old orange trees and making juice, being greeted by two adorably cheeky puppies, the sheep, the old shearing shed, the stunning Sandy falls swimming hole, the kangaroos, exploring jumping rock, bird watching and relaxing by the fire, it’s a fantastic bush retreat with the family. Adrian and Oratai are very kind and considerate hosts, and have done so much work to create a bush wonderland! It will only get better as they continue to tick away at their wish list for the place. They even set up a projector in the shearing shed camp ground for their guests to watch the NRL grand final (Go Broncos!). That was so much fun! We towed our 21’6 off-road caravan down the driveway to the shearing shed with no problems. It took us about 40 minutes of taking it cautiously. Highly recommend making sure you have enough food, water and fuel for your stay (it’s about 1.5 hrs to the closest shop/servo).

We stayed at the secret gorge campsite at binghi station over the October long weekend and it was everything we expected. Well equipped with a drop loo and hot showers, great access to swimming spots, heaps of wildlife and good 4WDing (which is also doubled as fun mountain biking tracks as well). Adrian was super welcoming and helpful. Definitely recommend this spot!

This is probably the best place my wife and I have stayed on Hipcamp. The serenity, the beautiful landscapes, and the ability to unattach from the outside world. Adrian is a fantastic host and is so approachable and loves a chat. Would definitely recommend this place , definitely will be back

We originally booked a site at the shearing shed camp area and then upgraded to the Sandy Falls campsite which overlooked the water and was a more private and picturesque option and one we would recommend. The hosts were so welcoming, warm and friendly. Our stay was peaceful and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beauty this property has to offer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Thai Food!! We pre booked a Thai banquet for a special celebration and our host delivered the most delicious Thai meal we have tasted in many years! We really enjoyed our stay and meeting the old local Wallaroo. Thanks for having us!

Fantastic trip, a real pleasure to stay at secret gorge. Heaps to do on the property, lots of great swimming, cool old relics scattered through the bush, an abundance of birds and wildlife. Adrian is an absolute legend, so welcoming, really helped out when we had some issues with our trip. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Hands down the best Hipcamp we have been to. Hosts Adrian and Oratai went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable our entire stay. The property itself was absolutely beautiful, we stayed at Jumpin Rock and loved hearing the flowing creek right beside our camp. There was 2 nice toilets on the site and the festoon lights that hung from the trees were a nice touch. We invested in the spa and had amazing views while relaxing in a hot self heated spa by the river. We can’t thank the hosts enough and will definitely be back.

One of the most remarkable camps we have stayed at. Should have stayed longer to see the river and woodlands. Scenery is amazing and the sheep friendly. Currently the drive from the entrance to campsites is a 4WD challenge...so be prepared. But the effort is well worth it. Has rustic but effective showers and toilets.

Adrian and his wife really goes above and beyond to accommodate their guest and help in any way they can. Can see the effort they put in to up keeping each site and they really go all out. Plenty of clean bins, toilets, shower and bath! All clearly serviced and cleaned regularly. So much to explore in the 4x4 and even more wildlife and waterfalls. Beautiful property. We will be back, Thank you.

Binghi station was one of the most stunning campgrounds I have ever stayed at. We camped at the shearing shed which felt much roomier than looked in the pictures the sunset over the mountain ranger were amazing to say less. The track in was an extrem amount of fun for me in a gu patrol on 33's an a 2 inch lift, we also had my parents pajeros towing camper trailer accompanying us. The pajero unhitched didn't have a trouble but on the track out the towbar tongue bottomed out hard and acctruly received a decent bend (Father stated due to driver error). We went and seen sandy falls, the gorge and jumping rock sandy sandy fall was gorgeous jumping rock had some really nice camping spots but the the water was way too cold to be swimming in would be much better in summer. The gorge would be the campsite I would stay at next had really nice facility's amazing views and great camping spots right next to amazing swimming holes. But by far the owner of the property Adrian is what makes it really down to earth nice person who stops in to check and see how your going and if you need anything just makes your feel like your ment to be there. Would highly recommend binghi station for everyone with a 4x4 everyone who went had an amazing time.

This place is pure magic! 4wd wonderland as well as an absolute natural wonder. Definately be coming back and couldn't recommend the bush hot tub enough, great to soak after a day of adventuring. Plenty of things to see and do, could spend a week and not get bored, Adrian and his partner as so welcoming and lovely to communicate with. Thanks again!

Absolutely awesome spot! So jealous to think this kind of landscape is on someone’s property. Adrian and Oratai are genuinely awesome people and super helpful. We enlisted some guidance from Adrian to get back up the 6km rough rugged driveway as we towed our 16ft off road caravan in to Sandy Falls. We made it out unscathed. Definitely 4WD access to all campsites. We found that the Shearing Shed and Sandy Falls would be most suited for caravans. Adrian has some big plans to fix up the driveway and some of the tracks around the property so stay tuned for some awesome upgrades! Can’t wait to get back to Binghi in the future. All the waterholes were pure magic and very relaxing to sit and watch with a few drinks. The effort they have put in to each campsite is outstanding - drop toilets and showers (and even a bathtub at Sandy Falls) and beautiful fairy lights over the fire pits. Thank you again guys! :-)

We travelled in a 5 metre off road van and camped at the Shearing Shed which was a grassed open camp ground on a slight grade but easy to level out. There was access to drop toilet with a view and a portable toilet with hand pump flush. The site has a view of the hills, and at this time of year yellow wattles. You are central to walk or drive to the various waterfall locations in the gorge. Once you enter Binghi Station the six kilometres to the Shearer’s Shed campsite be prepared for slow progress over sections of the road with washouts. This will be pending on weather use and any maintenance been able to me done by Adrian. It’s an adventure getting in but well worth it, especially at night when we arrived. Adrian and Oratai who visited us, certainly keep everything well maintained and have great campsites near the water/waterfalls. We enjoyed our time and will be back with friends to share the experience and will bring our puppies.
