I don’t normally leave reviews but this site was something special. The views across the river were spectacular and we saw turtles, platypuses, lizards and all other kinds of wildlife.
The rapids and waterfalls were gorgeous, and the thick forest on the other side of the river really set the scene. The sunset through those trees was magical.
Generous firewood provided, the camping area was immaculately maintained grass.
The feeling of seclusion was amazing. We had the entire riverfront to ourselves (aside from the wildlife).
This was a great base to explore beautiful Dorrigo and surrounds.
The only downside was that it was too cold to spend more time in the water.
My partner and I have seen quite a bit of Australia. This was one of the most beautiful camps we have ever stayed in.
This a private piece of paradise for people who want to get away from it all. Access is easy for AWD/4WD vehicles. There's a great swimming hole and plenty of birdsong. We spent our days at a wonderfully slow pace alternating swims in the river with reading in the shade. You won't want to leave.
I wish I could give this campsite a bad review and selfishly keep it all to myself but this spot is absolute heaven. if you really want to getaway and don't mind not having amenities, this place is an absolute must. We will definitely be back.
