Born and raised in Northern Lower Michigan, moved away for 20 years to experience the "city life" and then moved back to be by family. I remember traveling over Zilwaukee Bridge thinking to myself "ah, it already feels like home" and that is just the feeling I want you to have at my place. I hope it gives you that same feeling of relaxation, peacefulness and serenity. I am married and have 3 fur babies. I understand that our pets are sometimes our lives, so your pet is welcome at my place. 6 miles away you’re going to feel like you struck gold when you visit Huron-Manistee National Forest and you might actually strike gold! Along with hiking and horseback riding in the fairytale forest of lower Michigan, you can also pan for gold or hunt for natural minerals and geodes. If a sparkly souvenir isn’t your fancy, tube down the AuSable National Scenic River or explore the Nordhouse Dunes. The Loda Lake National Wildflower Sanctuary is delight for all your senses and a spot to get that epic panoramic shot. This is a place you’ll want to discover for more than a day, so crack a few fireside brews at one of Huron-Manistee’s campgrounds. You’ll have no issues here striking it rich in both scenery and fun. Learn more about this land: A rustic, permalog style cabin that is suited to accommodate up to nine. This is a cabin to help disconnect from the hustle and bustle of our chaotic lives. There is limited cell signal, no internet and no local or cable channels. The cabin is pet friendly, as I believe our pets are an extension of our families and should get to vacation with everyone rather than boarded (dogs only are allowed). Primary source of heat is a furnace. There is an electric fireplace in the living room. In the summer there is a window AC unit at the cabin and a fan for the loft (it does get hot up there). The cabin is very close (1/4 mile) to the AuSable River where you can easily launch boats, canoes and more. The ORV trail head is just a 1/4 mile down the road. This is also the perfect cabin for hunting, fishing, hiking and trail riding. Be sure to keep an eye out for an eagle or two. Also had deer tracks in the yard.

O Me, O Mio Rustic Cabin
Rustic cabin as described. Location is perfect for recreational activities. Recommend a trip down the ausable and local hiking trails. Ticks abound in the woods so be prepared.
