I think this is my new favorite hipcamp. Amazing grounds, great vibes, with easy access to town. My site was enough of a walk to feel very private, but the facilities were not far. I can’t wait to come back!

Glamp-Camp Cabin For Creatives
Lovely gem of a place
My family had a terrific stay here! The cabin was cozy and filled with really lovely artist-made details, from the curtain rods to the coffee tables. The landscape surrounding is wonderful to explore - bridges lead to tiny islands with sculptural, architectural surprises everywhere, and hidden nooks with hammocks for afternoon resting. Christine was just the right amount of available, sharing resources when we asked while leaving us plenty of space to unwind. On our second night there, she brought out some kindling and got a fire going in the firepit. It was a humid weekend in August, so the mosquitos were pretty intense (as advertised) but wow - what a lovely gem of a place.

This is a really gorgeous site! The view from your bed is a pond surrounded by wildflowers. There's cool art to look at, beautiful gardens, and a generally great vibe at the property. The location is also awesome for exploring! Highly recommend.

Perfect creative junkies getaway
EVERYTHING was perfect - we rested, we danced, we made art in the barn, cooked delicious local meals in the kitchen, practiced yoga and meditation in the fields, played in the sun, explored the property, had dinner at Salt of the Earth, and coffee at Roots Cafe.

Christine was fantastic! We met the most amazing people here! Christine was super accommodating! We had great coffee. The stars were insane. The property was fantastically communal! My boyfriend was able to work in the communal space with WiFi and the saugatuck shuttle came right to camp! Five stars all day! Christine even had firewood ready to roll every night to enjoy! Thank you so much!

Beautiful property
I truly enjoyed my stay at Christine's place. The property itself is beautiful, and Christine's remarkable artwork and wonderfully quirky outbuildings are delightful. The bed was comfortable and the netting around it protected me from mosquitos and other bugs. There is a toilet at the nearby Art Barn, as well as all the fixin's for a great cup of coffee. Christine is warm, welcoming, and interesting.

Rustic Camping - Come Prepared
Christine was very nice and her property was sufficient for our traveling purposes (a simple place to put up our tent as a home base while exploring Lake Michigan for a few days). However, the listing was not entirely accurate so I do feel a responsibility to share some of those details in case there are campers who don't arrive as prepared as we luckily were. We are no strangers to rustic camping, but all of the campgrounds in the area were full so we paid twice as much to stay at the Art Farm. We were given a spot to camp in on the opposite end of the property from where the bell tents, etc were. Although it was nice and private, the land itself was pretty swampy. The toilet was broken for half of our trip and there is no sink to wash your hands. The toilet has a ½ door, which is super awkward since anyone can walk in on you if the barn door is open. The other half of the door was literally broken and on the ground in front of the toilet. I can't comment on the shower, as we did not use it due to lack of privacy and it's gross physical condition. The "firewood" available was just random stumps and brush scattered throughout the property. We didn't bring our ax to cut the wood into reasonable pieces for burning, as the listing said firewood was available. It was also very wet. We ended up buying wood from the gas station. The listing also made it sound like coffee would be available, though this was not the case. One day there was a small grinder full of beans that we took and brewed back at our site. I felt terrible because other campers were confused and looking for fresh coffee and/or didn't bring their own way to brew beans (if there had even been enough provided). The listing also mentioned there being a basket full of dishes, silverware, etc. I'm glad we brought our own as a backup because there was nothing available at our site.
Regardless, we still had a fantastic time and the location is perfect for exploring Douglas, Saugatuck, etc. by bike. You will be super close to Lake Michigan, wonderful art galleries, great food. I would just advise that Hipcampers pack everything they need and not relying on any of the amenities described in the listing. My advice to Christine would be to lower her price on the tent sites or take the time to attend to the space and ensure that people have access to the amenities described in the listing.

Great camping space, loved our stay. Fantastic host, too. Very close to beaches and everything!
Glampsite: Monarch Cove Pond
The property itself was fantastic. Just stunning. We did the Glamping which included a very cute platform style tented bed with clear roofing so you could see the sun in the morning. There were a lot of bugs but the netting provided to us was sufficient to keep them out during the sleeping hours.
The bathroom situation was quite precarious. The shower only had freezing cold water and the light wouldn’t turn on in that room, so we couldn’t shower for two days. The toilet is also awkwardly located in a canteen with no doors to separate it. I think for someone who is very tough skinned and perseverent, this might not be an issue. But for us, we thought it fell short of “Glamping.”

Great stay!
Christine was very nice and accommodating. It was going to thunderstorm the night we booked our stay and she offered her waterproof tent! Such a great experience! The property has nice grassy areas, a pond, and lots of cute creatures! It is also only a short drive to downtown Saugatuck. We hope we can stay longer than one night next time! :)

Beautiful & quiet, cold shower
This is a beautiful piece of land not far from the Saugatuck-Douglas area. We had a lovely spot and it was very quiet. There are a lot of interesting things potentially going on at the Art Farm, and Christine's son was very warm, friendly and helpful. It does feel a bit that the camping aspect of the farm is either still underway or a bit under maintained. Hopefully this will improve, as it is a place we would consider visiting again. We did have to ask for a firepit, chairs and some kind of table, which we promptly received. Since we came prepared to, well...camp, we expected that would already be set up at each site. Apparently picnic tables were damaged in a storm and not replaced. Also, my husband stood naked for several minutes at the not-so-nice shower stall in the barn waiting for warm water; I finally asked and learned the water heater was broken. He skipped the shower and we went to the lake, so it was all good, but I do find the $55 rate overpriced given these lacking amenities. Nevertheless, I still give an overall positive review and recommendation. The beauty of the land and spirit of the Art Farm make it worth a visit, and there is much to do and discover in the area. Only about a 15-minute drive to Saugatuck Dunes State Park, one of our very favorite hiking and swimming spots in SW Michigan. The town of Fennville is even closer, which has the acclaimed Salt of the Earth restaurant.
