Perched above a quiet gully near the Meremere Track, the hut offers classic rural Taranaki views—rolling dairy land on one side and a steep, regenerating gully on the other, where you might spot the occasional wild goat or stock grazing below. The Meremere Track is popular with 4WD vehicles and both two- and four-wheel motorbikes, making this an ideal base for exploring the area. Back at the hut, unwind around the outdoor fire pit, cook a meal, and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with being truly off-grid. With no light pollution, clear nights deliver incredible stargazing—often one of guests’ favourite parts of the stay. The hut is fully off-grid but comfortable, with a solar shower, flushing toilet, gas cooking, and a small gas fridge suitable for essentials. There’s no mains power or Wi-Fi, making it a great place to switch off and slow down. Sleeping is all contained within the cabin, with one double bed and five single bunk beds, making it suitable for families, small groups, or mates on an adventure. Just 15 minutes from Hāwera, the hut is well placed for exploring popular Taranaki attractions while still feeling tucked away and rural.A small, rustic off-grid tin hut tucked above a quiet gully, offering a peaceful rural escape. Out front is a grassy area that easily fits a tent or camper — perfect for extra guests or those who like a bit of their own space. Only one group is booked at a time, so you’ll have the place to yourselves The hut is very basic, with a cold shower, flushing toilet, gas cooking and a small gas fridge. There’s no power or Wi-Fi, making it an ideal spot to slow down, switch off and enjoy the quiet. A fire pit is available for relaxed evenings under the stars. The Meremere Track is just a 3-minute drive away and is popular with 4WDs and motorbikes. Hāwera is around 15 minutes away for supplies, and Mount Taranaki is roughly a 30-minute drive. There’s plenty of parking outside the mowed area, and the section is fully fenced
