Nice quiet camping!
We had a beautiful and quiet tent campsite with nice hiking trails nearby. Carrie is a friendly and attentive host. An unexpected delight was a nighttime sky full of stars!

Military friendly and awesome host
We had a blast out at the Slab camp sites! At his was a good spot to spend my 4day weekend. If you’re stationed out at Ft.Campbell I recommend it. We stayed at cabin number 2. We saw an array of animals while out there. Evan a bald eagle decided to show up. Carrie was a most gracious host and was willing to help out with any questions I had. They are pet friendly as well. This place is a hidden gem that I hope does not stay hidden long. They have a vision of growing and doing great things over at the slab.

What a great camping experience! I brought my family of 4 with 2 kids (7, 4) to stay at The Slab campsite #3. The site was spacious and we were able to back the mini van in and setup camp. The kids enjoyed fishing and skipping rocks in the creek right behind the site. In all the hustle a light was left on in the van, and we discovered our dead battery when we were ready to drive up to the Party Barn for the night. A quick text to Carrie and she was down to the rescue with a quick jump. We had the barn to ourselves that night where we played air hockey, badminton, pool, and big-block Jenga. Everyone had an absolute blast, and we'll certainly be back!

Best Camping Site ever
The location was great and everyone working there was super helpful and accommodating. The campsite was the perfect distance away from the city lights so every star in the night sky was visible and bright. Will defiantly be coming back here multiple times and will recommend to anyone and everyone I know

Creekside Peace
Once again this place leaves me wanting to come back again and again! It was a rainy weekend and we left a day early, but we still had a wonderful time tubing and swimming in the creek. Good fishing too! Can’t wait to go back!

Easy kayak let-in options
Carrie is very nice and hospitable for sure. Sites are clean and safe. This was my first primitive camping experience, so I was very glad to have a porta potty close by our site. There is a shower but we were only there one night so no need to use it. Easy let-in for kayaking at some of the sites so that was the greatest plus for sure!

Great place and people!!
First, the people here are so accommodating. I had a flat tire and they helped me out, faster than any service place. The porta potty’s were clean. Yes it is primitive camping with accommodations. Amazing first experience.

Girls weekend
I have been to the same tent site 3 times since June. We love camping at Carrie’s. The place is beautiful, peaceful, Carrie is a wonderful host. She came by and checked on us to see if we need anything. She told us where all the good fishing holes were. Camp site #3 is the best one. My grandkids love going there.

Primitive camping at its finest
This is primitive camping at its finest. Theres a awesome creek the campsites are laid a out along great to cool off in abd for the kids to play. They also offer tubing on the creek. If you like primitive camping weather its in your tent or camper they offer sites for either this is a perfect place to check out. We had a great time

Awesome experience!
We had a great experience camping at the Slab! The site had what we needed: a fire ring, porter potty, and a great view. The farm is beautiful, the swimming and fishing were great, and we also enjoyed hanging out at the entertainment/game room. The host was friendly and accommodating, going out of her way to check on us and help us out when needed. We stayed for 5 days and everyone was sad to leave. The rope swing was an added bonus that provided many hours of entertainment. We went to Mammoth Cave and the Lost Cave during our stay, and both were about an hour away, but a pretty drive with very little traffic. We are already thinking about our next trip out here!

A memorable birthday!
Had a great time celebrating my 40th at the Slab! Carrie was a great host and took care of our large group. The river was flowing fast after some rainy days but the float was beautiful. We got to sing karaoke on Saturday night and our group enjoyed all the fun games at the old Dairy barn! Thanks for a memorable Birthday, Carrie!

Awesome host. Awesome campground.
First off, just great experience all around. The host and her crew are amazing people. Super friendly and willing to go the extra mile. I’d suggest ignore those several bad reviews from one single group.
The campsite was beautiful and the river was amazing. The rope swing, slide and tubing was all a blast. We had pretty much the whole place to ourselves, which was mind blowing - I’m from California where every campground is max capacity all the time. To have one this amazing all to ourselves was truly a wonderful change of pace.
The small cabin was well built and the view it has of the river was a treat to wake up to. Only change I would like to see on the cabin on stilts is to have the floor closed up like the sides. Tons of bugs were coming in non stop, spiders, beetles, flies, silverfish, water roaches etc. It was worsen than sleeping on a chair outside somehow. They were drawn to the inside.
We watched for about an hour as river otters fish and played right in front of our site. They were a constant companion on our stay and chirped / barked at our dogs occasionally if they got too close.
The road is well maintained and even though parts were flooded (we had quite the wet stay), the gravel bottom made easy passage.
The clubhouse with games and places to chill was a big hit with my family.
Definitely going back!

Best camping hospitality
Carrie was amazing. She checked on us multiple times, she'd bring down firewood and ice for us. She even delivered the tubes for floating to our campsite. A pretty bad storm came and she helped us secure our camp and allowed us to stay in the milk barn. We were grateful to be dry for sure. We slept in hammocks in the barn while our tent got water logged! We will definitely be back to enjoy the river and to camp again

kind staff, not ideal bathrooms
Carrie and the rest of the campsite staff were extremely friendly and helpful during our entire trip. we were camping on one of the sites on top of the bluffs and expected more of a view, but we were really just on a big hill in the forest. The ground was also extremely solid making it difficult to get our tent stakes into the ground. If you’re like me and love camping in a tent but also love being able to use the restroom and shower every night, after reading this listing I was expecting a bathhouse situation. There are shower houses, but they are a little old and within the barn that people like to spend time in. The toilets are also just portapottys located just across the street from the barn. While this was fine for the duration of the trip, knowing this beforehand would have been even better. Tubing was wonderful, and so we’re the fireworks for the fourth of July event!

My family and I absolutely LOVE camping on Carrie's land! It's family friendly, well kept, and the owners go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. We especially love that the campsites are private and right on the water AND we can put our tent wherever we choose. We can't wait for our next trip to The Slab!
