Camp site in the Orchard
A Real Treat!
We absolutely loved this site! The owners were so accommodating and welcoming. The campsite had a fire pit and a picnic table, and plenty of land to roam! We really enjoyed hearing about their sustainable farming practices and seeing how well they care for their animals. If you stay here, treat yourself to some of the eggs and meat from their farm! It was all delicious! The property was beautiful and Gail and Lynnette were so sweet. It was a treat meeting them and being able to stay at the Orchard!

Gail's place is great.
Gail's place is a little remote and that was exactly what were were looking for. Awesome night sky views, friendly farm animals and a great host. More than just a host, Gail and us had a great conversation about how he manages his land and really inspired our daughter who will be going to college to study soil science. Thanks Gail for inspiring our college student.

Most wonderful corner of Kansas!
Gail’s place is very special. It’s tucked away in the most beautiful pocket of Kansas - hilly, treed and bursting with green. The farm has a lovely freedom to it with all types of birds and dogs roaming freely. Gail and his wife are exceptionally kind and friendly. We enjoyed visiting with them over coffee. They are so passionate about their land, animals, and their vocations of regenerative farming. We just passed through for the evening, but wish we had a few more days to enjoy the propert!

Camp site in the Orchard
Nice Hipcamp site in the Flint Hill
Great setting with excellent views and plenty of shade in the Orchard campsite. It was just a short walk to a large pond where we caught several fish in an hour and our dog loved swimming. We had plenty of privacy and the bathroom/shower was less than a five minute walk. The hens wandered freely and the farm dogs visited several times. One of the dogs had adopted a lamb and they seemed to be inseparable. Gail was very helpful. I would stay again.

Beautiful farm camping experience
This is such a beautiful place to camp. Gail and his wife are incredibly sweet and helpful, their land is beautiful, and it’s a perfect spot to set up a tent and relax. We loved the sounds of their animals in the distance - it is not loud of distracting, but it immerses you in a really pretty farm setting. It was very nice to have a bathroom available to wash up and add a bit of comfort.

My husband and I spent one night on Gail’s farm on our way from Nashville to Colorado. While we weren’t there long, we felt like it was a great little oasis to break up our trip. We had a few hours before the sun went down to meet the dogs, cows and chicken and explore the land. It’s beautiful and we loved our time on the farm!

Couldn’t have been happier!
This was our very first Hipcamp experience and I couldn’t be more happy. Gail was extremely welcoming and communicated very well through the whole process! We loved seeing the animals and the camping spot was just beautiful. We camped with our two older kids and two month old and it was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be back!

A farm with integrity
This is a very special place. You get a true farm experience on a family farm. Gail and his wife are excellent hosts; both are welcoming and wonderful people. The campsite where I stayed was close to the entrance to the farm, but at the end of the day, the site became private, and I found myself cooking out under a dark, starry, Kansas sky. You hear the farm around you as it changes throughout the evening, night, and morning. The familiar sounds of the cows, sheep, and chickens give way after dark to the howls of coyotes in the distance and Gail's two protective sheep dogs warding them off. Then, of course, the rooster's crows in the morning twilight to tell you the day is beginning again. The farm itself is quite large, with ponds and hiking trails. The vegetation is diverse. Campers have convenient access to water, toilets, and a shower. Gail is one of today's thinking farmers, whose inventiveness and understanding of the ecology of farming has allowed him to join a small but growing group of regenerative farmers who work with the rhythms of nature to produce food. You witness an entire philosophy at work on this farm--compassion toward people, animals, and the soil make this place unique.
