Great place and great people
Great host, and fantastic place to stay. The state park is super close and well worth seeing. There is a nice bathroom, shower, and kitchen available that's all well maintained. I'd absolutely stay again if I was on my way through.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this campsite. Very calm and serene with many options for setting up a tent. The hosts James and Sharon were absolutely wonderful, helpful and accommodating and I enjoyed my many interactions and interesting conversations with them. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I strongly recommend staying at this site.

This was my first hipcamp experience and it was excellent! Jim is a wonderful host and his property feels private and secluded, but was easy to get to. Nice kitchen and bath house was a plus! Backbone State Park is nearby and a nice place to hike or picnic.

Love The Edge of Driftless!
Lets see. Firepit with unlimited wood, apple trees with in season fruit, a wonderful tractor for photo opportunities, indoor bathroom and shower facility, handy microwave, patii deck with picnic table, very close to beautiful Devil's Backbone State Park, and just a few miles from town if you forgot something. And a great cat for company if all this wasn't Country enough for you!

Great camping!
We loved the campsite at the edge of driftless. James was an amazing host. He met us pretty much as soon as we drove in showed us around and told us about the area.
We set up camp on this BEAUTIFUL day and when we were ready to go in to town for dinner, we discovered we had a flat tire. James to the rescue with an air compressor and some 2x4s to keep the truck from rolling as it was jacked up to change the tire. Whew!
It was a nice calm quiet evening. Nice bathroom, fire ring and fire wood available. Very happy and will return.

One of the best camps you will find
A well set up site on a beautiful property hosted by a wonderful couple. The hosts were so kind and helpful. We wish them the best and hope we have the chance to stay with them again.

Such a relaxing retreat from the worlds busy self. Spent the morning circling the property via golf cart. Let me tell you, I’m not sure if the carts, the asparagus or James was the highlight but the combination of everything created a raving fan.

What a great place to camp. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. Clean restroom facility and shower were a nice touch. Talk about beautiful sunsets from our campsite. We will be back!

The camp site was exactly as described. It is a great value and the hosts are extremely accommodating. We had a great time at the communal fire pit and the bathroom was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here. Situated right next to Backbone State Park but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet too. I have stayed at several HipCamp sites and this one rates at the top of the list. Thank you to the owners for such a lovely time.

This property was absolutely beautiful and owned by 2 of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. They are extremely generous with their hospitality. The property is right next to Backbone State Park. It’s a gorgeous state park and has lots of hiking trails and trout fishing. Loved our stay and hope to be able to come back for a longer trip next time.

Pleasant farmland camping
James was a pleasant and very supportive host, frequently making sure we had what we needed. He and his wife were friendly and happy to talk and give recommendations for the area. The camping area has the feel of a small campground, with basic amenities, like restroom, playground, and campfire.

Great host and great location
James and his wife were very good host, the amenities were very helpful. They have a very quaint and quiet setup.
Full kitchen and proper bathroom was very convenient and thoughtful. Barn cat was very friendly.
