Site 7 - Sandstone Springs
Peaceful and interesting visit!
Michael’s land is quite unique and was a really nice spot to rest and recover after being in the hot sun all day at sports fields. Michael himself is very accommodating and friendly - make sure to make time for him to tell you all about the property. The spring and creek vision he has is quite ambitious - while it wasn’t able to be used as a swimming hole, we did hike it. The ravine made for a cool (literally and figuratively) excursion! We had a 22 ft Transit and we were able to get mostly level. If you have something larger it might be tough. Glad we came!

It's a very intimate setting but beautiful. The host is very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay there and plan to go back.

Site 7 - Sandstone Springs
Very friendly host. This is a good place to stay the night on your way to other places. No Wi-Fi realistically. You just try to catch the hosts Wi-Fi (we parked right next to his house). The area just had a big flood, so we didn’t get a good look at the rest of the campsites.

Site 9 - Sandstone Spring & Camp
Being close to the city was an advantage but the site was not set up for a travel trailer or any kind of camper. The site is so uneven that even with extensive wood underneath, we still were unable to level out. It rained and the water then just ran through our camper from the slide. It might be an ok location for tent camping only. Our TT is only 19 feet long and barely fit in his spot. The host tried giving places to visit but didn’t really listen to what we were looking for. Also, do not plan to use electric hookup. He cannot accommodate but still charged for the services (that were not received).
If you are stopping through for the night with a tent, it’s an ok place to stay. Otherwise find some place else.

Reclaiming Nature
The RV campsite off the back of his driveway surprised us, but we had a fabulous campfire with Hobo pies for supper. The walk the next morning down along the sandstone creek— beautiful!

A gem in the woods right next to the city. The host was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. We loved the seclusion of the spot, no other campers in sight.

Wooded neighborhood along a creek
Great location, close to St. Louis. The setting is perfect. On a dead end street in a wooded neighborhood. Sandstone creek was literally next to our campsite. Michael was a great host who offered fire wood, set up the site perfectly (fire pit, lighting, bench, etc). He even pulled a water hose and extension cord from his garage to our RV site. Michael has grand plans for turning his property into an incredible setting for future Hip Campers!

It is on a dead end street, but some traffic of the neighbors. Still under construction but Michael was great.

Beautiful wooded setting by a creek
Brand new hip campsite! Michael was super enthusiastic and energetic getting the foot bridge built over the creek to the tent site. As time goes on, he will add more amenities, so check in with him for updates!
