Sweet Pepper Ranch is a small-scale personalized guest ranch in the high desert of southwestern Idaho. We raise Western performance horses and grass hay and work hard every day to exercise and train our horses as well as run the day-to-day aspects of an eco-friendly horse operation--which include composting and manure management, non-toxic pest control, pasture management, drought-tolerant native landscaping, mud and dust control, track paddocks and equine enrichment--and more! We offer farm tours, RV/LQ parking, and horse motel accommodations as well. Guests are invited to enjoy our solar heated pool, outdoor patios, wireless internet, evening bon fires (weather-permitting), horse farm tours (by appointment only, separate fee) and our friendly ranch atmosphere. We raise Western performance horses and grass hay. We work hard every day to exercise and train our horses as well as run the day-to-day aspects of an environmentally friendly horse keeping operation--which include composting and manure management, non-toxic pest control, pasture management, drought-tolerant native landscaping, mud and dust control, track paddocks and equine enrichment--and more! We offer overnight Glamping Tent, horse motel, RV/LQ parking, and educational horse farm tours. Guests can enjoy our solar heated pool, outdoor patio, wireless internet, evening bon fires (weather permitting), and our ranch atmosphere. Our equestrian facilities include individual paddocks with attached runs (12’ x 52’), automatic waterers, feeders, rubber stall mats, a 200' x 300' outdoor sand arena, a 72’ x 120’ indoor arena, two round pens (one large), numerous trail obstacles, large-scale permanent outdoor obstacles, an outdoor washrack, as well as parking, port-a-potty, arena bleachers, and picnic table areas. Matt Livengood trains and judges in NRHA reining as well as ranch riding and versatility ranch horse. He also trains and competes with mustangs. Nearby activities abound from visiting rodeos and wineries to trail riding at sunset near waterfalls or hiking painted desert canyons. There are wildlife refuges to visit, hot springs to relax in, wilderness mountains to explore, scenic rivers to raft, railways to travel along--and North America’s largest concentration of breeding raptors to dazzle you. Glamping on the Ranch
Such a sweet little spot! Cute and clean glamping tent, and Alayne was so welcoming, with use of the pool, flowers on our little porch table, and warm cinnamon rolls and coffee in the morning. 🙏

Beautiful ranch stay
Alayne and Matt were great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay. It was fun to visit with the horses, and our tent was a cozy spot for the night. Alayne left us fresh scones from a nearby bakery for breakfast as well. We really appreciated everything!

A perfect place to stay
Sweet Pepper Ranch was amazing: a cozy glamping tent in a beautiful setting, with access to a lovely pool and a shower. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and our hosts were friendly and welcoming. We loved hanging out among the horses and the family dogs.

Cute and cozy stay!
Alayne and Matt were incredibly sweet hosts, and the Sweet Pepper Ranch was an adorable stay! Beautiful countryside, hiking and wineries near by, and sweet animals to boot - what’s not to love? The tent was cute and cozy, a perfect stop on my road trip!

Sweet Pepper Ranch
My fiance and I stayed one night at Sweet Pepper Ranch and enjoyed the unique experience it provided. Communication was easy and Alayne provided all the information we needed for a great stay. When we arrived she was there to greet us and help us settle in. Her friend even shared some breakfast restaurant recommendations which we appreciated. The beds were super comfy and sleeping under the fresh air was delightful. I would love to stay here again.

Horses and stargazing!
Our experience at Sweet Pepper Ranch was superb! Alayne is a wonderful host. We had fun hanging out with the horses and stargazing later at night. I definitely recommend Sweet Pepper Ranch for those who love horses and want a unique glamping experience!

A Unique Glamping Experience
Alayne was a welcoming host, talking to me about her work with horses, offering a dip in their pool, and even bringing me garden vegetables. She let me feed a carrot to her sweet horse, Jasper, who was a very quiet neighbor. I heard owls and kestrels, and a far away rooster. It was a nice change from hotels and much more comfortable than tent camping.

Special place! Loved our stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at Sweet Pepper Ranch! Alayne was a kind and generous host, welcoming us and so very accommodating of our many questions about ranch life. We fell in love with the beautiful horses, and loved the glamping tent and swimming pool. Both the tent and ranch are exceeded expectations on cleanliness.

Glamping on a Horse Farm
This was by far the fanciest HipCamp we’ve stayed at while driving coast to coast. The glamping tent was beautiful and located adjacent to the riding ring. While our hosts were nearby, we had plenty of privacy. We also travel with two kids and a dog. The kids loved the horses and the swimming pool! My husband was able to use the WiFi to work as well. Alayne and Matt were the best hosts!! We enjoyed chatting with them and learning about their farm. We can’t wait to return to Sweet Pepper Ranch!

Sweet Pepper Ranch glamping experience was a real treat! The host was welcoming and very hospitable. Their ranch was very impressive. The bed was comfortable. Just 20 minutes away from wine country! Couldn’t ask for more. This place should be featured in a magazine.
