For those who want to travel differently, come get connected to the land and attend our ‘āina program at Oahu’s most stunning valley property. Also known as Sacred Valley, Kaliuwa’a is nestled on the northeast, windward side of the island. While easily accessible, it feels worlds away with both a valley view and a 15 minute walk to a deserted beach. No permits are required, above ground fires are welcomed: set up a tent, hammock (site 5), or sleep in your vehicle while giving back to the land! Guests check themselves in: straightforward directions are sent via a link in the Hipcamp chat after booking has been completed. Items to bring include bedding, bug spray, a flashlight, and secure food-storage containers. We provide clean restroom facilities with flush toilets and hose showers, just a five-minute walk from the campsite. There are also picnic tables for your dining needs: feel free to bring an above-ground There is a free one-hour ‘Āina learning experience that’s required, offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays. You’ll learn how to care for and tend the land and by staying with us, you are helping to contribute to our youth educational programs and to preserve this beautiful place for generations to come. Site 5 was where it was at!!! Very relaxed self check in, great retreat, and there was construction happening for half the time that I wasn’t warned about. My friends who booked site 4 deserve a refund bc it was bulldozed, thankfully they just stayed with us so no biggy:)

We rented a camper van and parked it at the star camp. It was very easy to find, Manny is very welcoming and kind. He gave us very thorough and easy to follow instructions in our check in. He was also very easy to reach and communicate with. The views are stunning and highly recommend the showers with the mountains in the background. A perfect place to get away and admire the beauty that is Mother Nature.

A lovely site. The view and location is fantastic. Directions are clear, I recommend arriving during the day at first but then it’s simple to find. The nearby boxing can bother some people but it didn’t bother me at all as they keep to themselves. I didn’t experience hot water but that’s understandable, overall I’d stay again and would recommend it

Mountain view as an RV site, is the furthest from the bathroom and theoretically the furthest from everything else. What isn't mentioned is that the back of it is 15/20ft from road everyone comes in and out on. Your farthest from the mountains and you get to look and hear the guys with mowers at air blowers by something that looks like a house with cars driving in and out. I was out during the days, and they chose to do this mowing and blowing work in the evenings 5-6pm when I was home. I had to move elsewhere because of the noise. This site is far from private, as you have a gym with parents and kids to the right, campers and day programmers to the front and right, something that looks like houses but had cars and loud machinery to the front, and the entry driveway behind you. (If you back into the spot.) At night, when everyone left, it was one of the most silent and peaceful places to be. The bathroom stalls were worn, the shower was cold only. If you are ok with the noise, lack of privacy, long bathroom walk, then this spot is good. Despite everything, I would stay here again.

After 13 years on island I’ve found a new favorite campsite. It’s quiet, secluded from other sites, flushing toilets and showers. We saw shooting stars all night as there’s very little light pollution. Super clean and well landscaped. Gorgeous scenery. If I could give 11/10 I would!

What an incredible site! Private, serene, and on our favorite side of the island. I don’t quite understand the sub-par reviews on here. It’s a campsite. No frills. Bugs weren’t bad while we were there, though we came prepared. The toilets and showers were basic, as one would expect at a campsite. My partner was concerned about “cold showers” but it’s Hawai’i. After a day at the beach with all the sand and salt, we found them refreshing. I wasn’t exactly prepared for the program but I think it’s important for anyone visiting the islands to give back and to learn about good stewardship of the land. Our stay has left a lasting impression on us. My partner even suggested that we camp throughout the islands for the entirety of our next trip. The windward side of the island healed all impressions from my only other trip to O’ahu, which was 24 hours in Honolulu. If you are expecting Waikiki, stay in Waikiki. But if you want a taste of real Hawai’i, don’t even hesitate to stay here. Beautiful beaches, incredible food, small towns, little traffic, and friendly people who are just living life peacefully. I loved the place, the night was really calm and perfect to sleep in the tent on the roof of our Jeep. It has been amazing to discover this place, showers and toilet a bit far but incredible views in the path to reach them. I would definitely repeat and recommend.

Camping at site 4 was nothing but peaceful. We had the privacy we were looking for. The convenience of having a shower and toilets near by were a plus. Anywhere else in Hawaii for this sort of experience would be double the cost. Manny (host) was very communicative. I would go back again and again.

This is such a beautiful property in the jungles and sacred lands!! It was so quiet and serene with sounds of chickens and crickets. We stayed for 2 nights and it was such a fun experience to camp deep in nature (exactly what we wanted!!!)

such a cool spot!! loved waking up here everyday of my trip!! would 100% recommend. Manny was so sweet and gave us an even better campsite. Barely any mosquitoes also they only came out for around an hour. the dojo gym was cool to watch coming into the campground made us feel like we weren’t fully alone which was really nice. the showers were great we recommend going in the morning even though there are lights because u might hit mosquito hour. Anyway u should visit the view is better in person.
