Rainbow Jaguar Treehouse
Adventurous at heart / Stargazer
I would definitely recommend this cabin for the adventurous at heart. A very rewarding and unique experience. All the necessities were provided and the place was clean. The view of the stars at night was my favorite part.

Beautiful sunrise
Great view. Cute animals. I wish the bedsheets were cleaner

Rainbow Jaguar Treehouse
If you want a unique glamping experience out in middle of nowhere, gorgeous rural Hawaii, you're in the right place. The treehouse was filled with fun decor and music toys, and the view from its porch was astounding day or night. You're an epic hike (or a short drive then hike) away from Green Sand Beach. Cute dogs, a cat, and many ducks are your neighbors, and Destiny (the hostess) was always around to help, answer questions, or provide simple meals (with advanced notice). I had a great Labor Day weekend getting away from it all while watching the clouds roll by.

Untamed Wind Treehouse
Wonderful relaxing stay!
Such an amazing place to stay! Destiny was the sweetest host and this property is spectacular. You have incredible sunset/sunrise views, it’s a beautiful area, there are cows and ducks and the sweetest dog. The sounds of the grass in the breeze put me in instant relaxation after a long flight. The untamed wind dream house lower bed is super comfortable and the decorations were beautiful. The outhouse is private not shared which was nice. Proximity to Green Sand beach is great, and you can even apparently hike their from the property if you have more time. My only complaint is that I didn’t get to spend multiple days relaxing here.

Brisk and beautiful spot
Beautiful scenery, wide open fields and view of the ocean. Breathtaking stargazing. Very windy and dusty, but the wind keeps you cool and blows away flies with your worries! Very refreshing atmosphere. Amenities offered were helpful and we loved the ducks that visited our camp. Would recommend this peaceful, secluded spot.

Rainbow Jaguar Treehouse
Great location, completely off the grid, overlooking South Point. It's a mile down a jouncey dirt road and then a quarter-mile through a field. Beautiful views for sunset and sunrise, friendly dog & cat, and a passel of sucks. Great host, great people, great time.

Remote and peaceful!
We stayed one night in one of the treehouse (the Egyptian theme one). Follow the directions carefully and don't give up on the way to get there because it is very remote and you have to drive on non-paved road! We had a Mini Cooper and we did it (taking it slowly) so I think this is a good proof that every car should be able to make it... The place is at the very South tip of the island, in between the dry and wet side such that it is windy and a little wet, which adds to the remote feeling.
Rainbow Jaguar Treehouse
Epic views and relentless wind
Wow! The Jaguar Treehouse really puts the GLAM into Glamping! The sheer quantity of interesting and sexy decorations in this trippy love nest waaaay out in the middle of nowhere was delightfully surprising and perplexing. The lanai was a great place to do yoga and watch clouds rolling by.
When I say middle of NOWHERE, I mean it. You're driving to the end of the paved road, to the end of the gravel road, then the road turns into grass and you're driving through cow pastures and multiple gates and miles and miles of grasslands as far as you can see...... It's seriously wayyyyyyyy out there. My little low-clearance Prius bottomed out twice on the road (watch for the deep hole on the left side where the pavement turns into gravel road), but was able to make it out there and back. I would recommend taking a higher clearance vehicle out there for sure.
Destiny was a fantastic hostess and chef, I highly recommend making reservations for her delicious dinners!
And there's puppies too, omg, so adorable!
And a flock of ducks!
The wind is absolutely relentless. The first day (higher than normal winds, granted) I found myself just wanting to be in a place that wasn't windy. I slept a lot. Did some writing. The bed was pretty comfy, and I liked the squishyness of the pillows. I appreciated that the tree house had windows that close and block the wind. Ahh, modern conveniences... I personally wouldn't tent camp in this area of the island, but if you do, definitely bring extra paracord and stakes to anchor your tent. The house had an interesting design feature with the corner of the roof being cut out and partially touching an old kiawe tree, which rubbed against the house in the wind and made all sorts of squeaky creaky noises. It was a little hard to get used to, but eventually I was able to tune it out.
The second day the winds were a tiny bit calmer and I started getting accustomed to constant hair being blown into my face and the loud rushing sound in my ears, so I went for a hike down to the the ocean. It's SO BEAUTIFUL out there. The land is an interesting mix of red soil, black lava, and green olivine sand. And hardly anyone around for miles (although there were a lot of locals camping by the ocean for the holiday weekend).
Wore a hat and protective clothing, but didn't wear sunscreen on my face. Got pretty sunburnt. Lesson learned. If you're going out on adventures, bring more water than you think you will need. The sun and wind are absolutely brutal here and super dehydrating.
But seriously, this place is worth the journey just for the epic views. Walking through the desolate wild lands of Ka'u is a perfect way to clear your head. Solitude is a solace from this crazy society. I turned my phone off and didn't touch it for a full 24 hours.
It's awesome.
Try it! ;-)

So serene and beautiful
What a dreamy space! We had site number one and it was fabulous. The most stunning views we’ve seen and by far our favorite campsite so far. It was cloudy so unfortunately we didn’t get much stargazing in, but I’m sure it’s epic when clear. The sunrise was stunning and the over all feel was incredibly relaxing and serene. Thank you so much for sharing your glorious space.

A rustic & truly unique experience
This was a really breathtaking place to watch the sunset and rise. I showed up a bit before sunset and was greeted and shown around by Destiny. They have some really wonderful dogs on the property that I loved. It’s slow going to get down there in a low clearance van like I had, but with care it’s totally doable.
The site is rustic with a dry composting toilet and outdoor kitchen. But the private outdoor hot shower is amazing and doing your business with an incredible view is second to none in my book. Shame I had to mosey onto the next spot or I could have really seen myself spending a few nights here. I didn’t meet Dreaming Bear, but Destiny was welcoming, approachable and helpful. Once the instructions were given I was left to my own wanderings and space.

Rainbow Jaguar Treehouse
Magical,1 of a kind people/property
Dreaming Bears property and community are truly spectacular, pictures alone don’t do it all justice! Absolutely breathtaking, and the treehouse was super comfortable for my companion and myself.
The highlight of our stay was Destiny and her kind on-site hospitality and DELICIOUS breakfast the next morning...don’t miss the chance to have her prepare you a meal. Destiny had everything on the property spotlessly clean (how she manages this with the wind blowing is beyond me!), thoughtfully organized, and spaces carefully curated/decorated. Thank you, Destiny - you are awesome!
Some of the most friendly, well trained, well cared for animals I’ve seen on the island live here, too...parting with Ali’i the cat and Mahalo the dog was such sweet sorrow. They are the best.
Dreaming Bear and Destiny have a stunning property, with values and ethos that result in a true sense and spirit of community.
Thank you l!!!!

This was an amazing and beautiful property in a unique setting with breathtaking ocean and volcano views. My friend and I were unfortunately not able to arrive until quite late at night, but our host was flexible, understanding and accommodating enough to allow us this grace and responded accordingly and swiftly with the necessary directions for entry and layout of the property. We wished we had had more time to spend and enjoy here, but loved the time we did have and will plan to return in the near future! This is a must stay place for those visiting the South Point/Green Sands region of the Big Island!
