Call us bias, but there’s nothing better than small town life. When the "blue roof cottage by the tracks" (yes, it used to have a unique blue roof) hit the market in early 2021, we knew it had to be ours! We purchased it & flipped it into a vacation home for guests of Folkston .. and The Conductor's Corner was born. Because we are also avid RV'ers, we thought what better way to finish off our corner than to add a few first-class RV sites to accommodate the camping community. We hope you enjoy your stay on our corner! In a small town in the south, where the Okefenokee Swamp runs deep and railfans thrive, the Conductor’s Corner stands out. The Conductor’s Corner features 3 premium RV sites directly on the rail lines of the Folkston Funnel. This railfan's dream neighbors the Folkston Railfan Train Platform. The spacious concrete pads are perfect for a night of watching trains under the stars. 20x50 concrete pads with 30/50 amp power, water, sewer, Wifi & picnic tables. A quick 3 minute walk from the Conductor’s Corner will lead to the heart of Main Street where visitors will find a plethora of hidden treasures: coffee shops, boutiques, local eateries, the Train Museum and so much more. Guests could spend a day exploring the habitats and waterways of the Okefenokee Swamp or take a short drive to neighboring communities such as Cumberland Island, Savannah, Golden Isles or Amelia Island or Jacksonville in Florida. All the comforts of home and the utmost southern hospitality are included in your stay on our corner. The Conductor's Corner also includes a vacation cottage available for rent (sleeps 6).

Last minute
We had to move from an rv park on a base because of tropical storm Nicole. We found conductors corner last minute. Communication was excellent. The spots are clean, level & full hook up. There’s even grass to walk dogs. Right in town so close to what you need but it’s a very small town. The spots are right next to railroad tracks. If you’re into trains it’s great, if you’re not, it’s quite noisy. The trains run all day & night. We put up with it but it was very loud. Not sure if we’d be back just because of that.

WiFi Heaven
This was a return trip to Conductor’s Corner (see my review February 2022 for details). Traveling from Mississippi to Atlantic coast Florida, staying in some lovely state parks along way. Stopped at Conductor’s Corner because we’d be arriving to GA very late (11:00 pm) and knew how easy it would be to set up there at that time (opposite of trying to navigate around a state park late at night). After struggling to get any sort of internet at state parks (even those that advertised WiFi) I knew I’d be able to catch up work the next morning at CC because they have amazing, super fast, super reliable WiFi. Six months after my last visit, CC was still super clean, well maintained, with response time from host mere minutes. They have added fence along road, separating campsite from street.👍

It was pretty interesting to be camping in front of passing trains! At first it took a while to get used to being in the middle of the small town with no privacy. If you are a light sleeper make sure to have headphones or music on while you sleep. They blow their horns every few hours. The pads are big and area is very clean! I would like to have explored the area a bit more. Make sure to stop by the Whistlin Dixie Cafe within walking distance. Nice people and great breakfast sandwich!

RVing by the rails!
Great spot to rest for the night ….quaint little town. Wonderful RV lots with wifi, water, sewer and electrical hook up …perfectly level concrete lighted pad.. The host was most gracious. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you’re a train buff…. It couldn’t have been a nicer set up. Thanks so much.

Does the trick!!
Super clean, level site. No frills as the post states but we felt safe and would stay again driving through. I will say if you’re a light sleeper like me than leave your music or TV on because the train is as close as can be but we knew that by the posters honesty so it’s 5 star in our opinion.

Unique Experience
This site was fun and has a lot to offer. However, it may not be the right fit for everyone. Obviously there is going to be train noise, but there are also two gas stations and a McDonald’s just a few hundred feet away so you will hear cars and talking. It is not private. You are right on the road with cars, bicyclists and pedestrians passing by. We are city folk, so we are comfortable in that type of environment, but everyone might not be. Now to all the good stuff. The owner’s put a lot of care and effort into setting this up. The concrete pads are large, perfectly level and brand-new smooth. The electrical posts are brand new, with 50, 30, and 20 amp outlets with GFCI and a night light. Each spot has a brand new picnic table and the entire space is pristine. Fresh gravel between pads and not a single bit of trash. Site 1 is full sun (which we loved because we were escaping New England in February). Sites 2 and 3 have half shade. Neighborhood was busy but felt safe. Fun little community of train enthusiasts milling about just up the tracks with their big ol’ cameras. The trains come by regularly and it is interesting to see all the different items being transported. We had planned to stay one night passing through and ended up re-booking for there for three more nights. The hosts were quick to respond to texts and were all-around nice people. They are RVer’s themselves so you can see they used their experience to set this up in a well-thought out manner.
