This is a great place to watch the star on a clear night . The host Erik was very accommodating and inviting. I recommend this place indeed .

This is a primitive camp site with no cover from the sun. Its a place to pull off and sleep.

Amazing site and super friendly host!

Know what you're getting into
Hosts are great/interesting/helpful, but know that this is located in a dusty part of the Pahrump Valley - the dust could be blowing (see other reviews), or just coating everything (like your gear and the cool lounge-y sofas). They are homesteading, so it has the feel of a construction site. Hipcamp's direction link ("Open in Google Maps") is wrong and takes you to a very sandy location nearby for which you'd better have 4WD. Directional challenge: there are no landmarks - it's the desert! Stargazing was okay, but the desert quiet & solitude are the best parts. Okay, quiet except for the nearby rooster farm. Who has a farm of roosters? That are on Eastern time?

Sky is dark, Stars are bright.
We stayed in our R.V. on the property and had a great time! Erik and Kortney are great! They are true modern day pioneers. We were very satisfied with the night sky viewing.
A sign with reflectors would have helped us to turn into the road to the property. (It was unfortunate that we arrived after sundown) We looked at the property via satellite image which helped us immensely since the property is in a rural location. Get gas in Barstow or Baker before making the last leg of the journey.

Not what I had hoped
Arrived during a dust bowl in the area. Sandy Valley area has them often so keep in mind. Couldn’t get the tent up in such gusts, so we only lasted about 15 minutes.
Hosts seemed friendly. Communal living group in the desert.
Although we only technically reserved a patch of dirt for a tent, the site was a wreck. Just makeshift wooden housing surrounded by piles of lumber with old nasty couches I wouldn’t sit on.

A great camp, beautiful sunsets
A beautiful area and a great camp. Very close to the Tecopa/Shoshone area as well close to Pahrump
The area is very secluded but within an off the grid camp and a composting toilet. Always a plus.
The sunsets wee amazing, a 360 degree view. Mt Charleston, the Nopahs, and the serene Calvada area was insanely beautiful.

Great spot for me and my gf to stay in our campervan! Kortney and Erik were very responsive and even provided unique directions based on where we're coming from. We still got a little lost in the dark and even got stuck in some sand on a nearby road, but Kortney and Erik's spot was exactly what we needed for the night

Great for Star watching!
Kortney and Erik were very welcoming! This was the perfect spot to see the stars! The site itself is not far from Vegas but far enough away to feel secluded. Loved the peace and quiet of the night. I would come again to get more amazing photos!

Stargazing at Tranqvillium
My wife and I stayed here for several nights and had a great time. Death Valley campsites are closed due to COVID, and this spot is less than 2 hours away (the route to the park also passes through Pahrump, NV if you need to pick up any supplies, they have Walmart, Home Depot, etc). Site was spacious enough to give us privacy, and Erik was very accommodating. We brought plenty of firewood, but he checked in on our next to last day to offer more if needed. Would recommend!

My first ever experience camping, and I couldn't of chosen a better place. Erik, the host, is extremely friendly and helpful. He uses the site for constructing a self sustainable housing project, with the camping sites on the outskirts of the project. I think this is fantastic, as it provides a central meeting area - should you wish to converse with Erik and anyone else assisting with the project - as well as provides an area for assistance, should you need it. The environment is exactly as described - the open desert with the brightest stars and howling coyotes to keep you company. It was the perfect experience!

Stars, mountains, dessert, quiet
Eric was most gracious, supplied us with a firepit and firewood for free and made us coffee in the morning. This is a desolate place specific for star gazing as mentioned. Private property about 10-15 minutes off the main highway.

I guess it was crazy to book this in August. We arrived and it was far too hot, no shade, pretty much still building site. Maybe OK in Spring or Fall and I'm sure the stargazing is great...

Burner friendly site
This site is a perfect spot to decompress or prep for a burn. The conditions are similar to The Playa, and the host has a very open attitude about using the space. The kids and I arrived from LV side after a long drive in from Utah/SLC, and we were there around 6:30pm. It was still hot, so we huddled in the shade behind the car, and set up our tent and prepared dinner. Stars were as promised, great. You could see the milky way. No real pests to worry about, and very quiet spot. The drive out along the Old Spanish Highway is a treat, magnificent. Would camp again.
